A bit of Edith Piaf and Serge Gainsbourg on in the background Vanessa Paradis for DH

OneLittleLady · 29/08/2013 22:44

I can do the music Grin I'm thinking moody strings, delicate whispery vocals, soft synths, nothing harsh Grin

shopafrolic · 29/08/2013 22:45

Uncomfortable seats though, otherwise we'll make no money! Oh and bag hooks or stools! Lots of them!
Which leads me to my question which I've been dying to ask for a long time. Favourite music?
Mine..... Acid Jazz from the 90s. Jamiroquai. Brand New Heavies.
Amy Winehouse, Erykah Badu, happy house music!

Good one marsha, DH hates my rick Owens jacket, says it looks to rubbery !

I'm not a fancy cheese person, can't eat smelly cheese! So it's Edam or waitrose soft cream cheese for me!

Yes shop I'm on pin,this is metalya83.

OneLittleLady · 29/08/2013 22:46

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 29/08/2013 22:54

Oh bloody hell Shop I knew at some point it would come to this! [Worried face] When you mentioned Manchester and Ibiza I thought to myself "never, ever talk music with Shop" fashion I can do,cheese, kitchens, crap, anything but music. I'm a pop girl .....do NOT ever ask me what bands I've seen, you will not want to know me!
have One Direction booked for next May

santamarianovella · 29/08/2013 23:05

shopafrolic · 29/08/2013 23:08

Harry is my favourite!
I can do pop too. I have a lot of Kylie on the iPod, a bit of Olly Murs, big Wham and Spandau fan back in the day.....oh and Take That. I used to follow them round the streets of Manchester and have been to 3 concerts. Feeling better now Dry? :)

Took DD this year...could not get over the high pitched screeching! Had to teach DD what to do...."stand up!dance! Sing along and wave...because Nial and Zane can definitely see us!" dD Hmm

shopafrolic · 29/08/2013 23:10

this is the gold jacquard skirt I mentioned before - looks horrible in the pic but lovely iirc

My music gases vary depending on my mood, though not sure they would ever have fit the cool category. Love live music !
Well the printed trousers hunt continues - not seen any I liked yet.
Love the jumper whom ever linked it.

Shop - beans on toast - worth it for the pistols

Ok need sleep now, been a terrifically busy day

libertychick · 29/08/2013 23:18

Hello - busy week - struggling to keep up - need a bit of help please if any of you have a minute here

santamarianovella · 29/08/2013 23:30

Following you too shop,

Was almost almost in a one direction video,it was the one where they sing on top of the bus,I was pushing the pram on our way to dd checkup, girls were running screaming and crying all around us,dd had the scare of her life when two very loud girls started crying hysterically Grin

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 30/08/2013 00:32

Sleepless (again) so just dipping in. Dry I am so with you on Brie de Meaux. My local deli sells a gorgeous one and I keep it under a wicker dome in the kitchen until it oozes. Trouble is, you can smell it when you walk in the front door Blush and I always feel the need to apologise to visitors. As for music, I won't even go there. Big music fan, highly eclectic tastes, scathing about pop and esp X Factor flashes in the pan acts.
Wish I could get to mu, but my erratic schedule means I can never plan a thing. Hope you all have a wonderful time.

mignonette · 30/08/2013 05:29

Sleepless night here so having a quick browse before trying to get some zzzzz in before its time to get up.

I'm in Spain and Germany during October so think I won't be able to make this MU but will try for the next one. I'm sure it will be fabulous.

My favourite cheeses are Parmiggiano eaten straight up or w/ Carpaccio (expensive tastes)....I also like this orange rinded one from Haute Vienne called Rouay and Fiore De Sardo, a sheeps milk cheese. We get through a lot of that lemon and herb scented soft young goats cheese from the Waitrose counter too.

LIberty I'll head over to your thread quickly now.

Mominatrix · 30/08/2013 06:10

Hello Ladies! Just wanted to pop in and say hello - difficult for me to keep up with you all, but I love to come and see what everyone is up to (any buying/lusting after).

Plus, the the smell of lovely cheese just wafted over and brought me back here Grin. Cheese is one of my food groups - sometimes my principal one - particularly love creamy aged goat cheeses (monte enebro, dorstone) and Vacherin Mont D'Or (eagerly awaiting the first shipments for the autumn).

Hope mignonette and Grumpy get some sleep!

mignonette · 30/08/2013 06:33

Hi Mominatrix Another early bird.....

Am starting to nod off now. Have just donated to Save The Children because my conscience is troubling me over Syria. Sad....So am going to try to get an hour of sleep.

Hopefully we'll speak later? Stick around, this thread is cool.

Mominatrix · 30/08/2013 06:46

Syria has been really bothering me, too. Sickeningly horrifying, but what to do? Something must be done, but the consequences of doing something are deeply worrying. Even my DS1 has been asking me questions about what is going on. No wonder you are been sleepless!

Have a restful nap.

LinusDKD · 30/08/2013 06:48

Morning!

My favourite cheeses are: Sainte-Maure (a lovely goats cheese covered in ash) and Saint-Félicien (a runny cow's milk cheese you have to spoon onto your bread) and I like lots of British cheeses as well.

DH and I had dinner in a restaurant in the village of Chablis once and the cheese trolley was the size of a small door. DH was in cheese heaven.

marsha DH doesn't like anything that's too masculine on me, so he was a bit Hmm when I recently bought some biker boots.

I have quite a ecclectic taste in music: I like classical music (when there's nothing on the telly we often put on classical music and sit listening to it with our respective Ipads), R&B and rap (Ice-T and Body Count anyone?), Ska, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins, Pixies, Abba, Early Britney Wink, Early U2' Metallica, The Beatles, The Doors, The Beach Boys, etc.

DH likes what I call plinkety plonkety music like Buddha Bar, HedKandi, Cafe del Mar which I can listen to for half an hour maximum. Wink

QueenCadbury · 30/08/2013 06:56

Morning. I totally can't keep up! Had a lovely day in essex yesterday in a forest on bikes and a boating lake. Dc and their cousins get on so well. Luckily it was lovely and sunny too so I can forgive sil for not taking me to Westfield Grin. Off to friends in Cambridgeshire today.

MU- I arrive at 10 and my train back is at 8. Would particularly like to go to cos, banana republic, Russell and Bromley, other stories and uniqlo. And of course dress shopping. However I'm panicking as some of the lbd I've been looking at online have sold out in my size so not sure I can risk waiting till oct...?
Cheese- not a fan of stinky or blue but am very partial to goats, Brie, Camembert and mozzarella
Music- I am stuck in an 80s/90s time warp.

QueenCadbury · 30/08/2013 07:12

Ladies, I've pinned a couple of dresses to the secret board.

Sorry, I'm starting to bore myself so I must really be boring you lot Grin. I'm aware that I've gone from blue dress to jumpsuit to black dress and there's still time to change my mind again!

mcnally that rm dress was lovely but I don't like exposed zips. The temperley is gorgeous. I'd be tempted myself but that style wouldn't suit.

LinusDKD · 30/08/2013 07:38

queenc I love both VW dresses, especially the one with the split down the side. They are the kind of dresses you can wear to parties again and again, just by accessorising them differently.

I was listening to the BBC World Service in the car on the way to the nursery and I had to turn off the radio when they were reporting on Syria. Sad

LinusDKD · 30/08/2013 07:45

Oh, I just read that vinocerous is a single mum and in medschool. Respect!

(And everyone popping in to say hello to her, please stay!)
