Oh I will wear a black blazer or jacket open w/ a lighter T. Just not a buttoned up coat. Wore deepest black for my Fathers funeral and FIL and I looked haggard and in shadow.

MarshaBrady · 28/08/2013 21:24

I know, really low. Liberty was pretty bad, a few sizes of the best stuff. Probably gone now. Bonkers.

MarshaBrady · 28/08/2013 21:25

I'm not great with a black coat either Mig. I have a See by Chloe one, might be navy. Should check it out, but it feels very sombre on.

OneLittleLady · 28/08/2013 21:31

I love black, it's my go to colour for everything. I'm not sure if it's my 'season' but I think it works for me. I suspect I'm a winter possibly leading into spring as some of the brighter spring colours work for me but mostly winter colours are my best.

I ordered a couple of tulle skirts from ebay, I'm just waiting on them being delivered before I twirl round my front room like a little grunge fairy Grin

mignonette · 28/08/2013 21:36

A Lovely little grunge fairy One. Never too old to be a fairy.

McNally · 28/08/2013 21:37

Beautiful boots shop.

Fave colours - grey, navy, cobalt, petrol blue, black, fuschia, raspberry, bright pink.

Worst colours - bottle green (makes me look drawn, had to wear a bottle green jumper for five years at school, am totally scarred and now can't bear it).

shopafrolic · 28/08/2013 21:38

Yes McNally bottle green was my uniform colour too, it really suits me but I struggle to put it on now!

I had a lovely uniform at boarding school in Central America- cream turtle neck t shirt in Winter w/ dark red and cream pleated skirt and burgundy blazer. In Summer we wore white cotton tops with a cream/brown and red pinafore smock over the top.

Then back to the UK and a 'dress code'- purple or black or brown or navy or red, green, cream or white. Of course I'd subvert it by wearing Osh Gosh style ticking stripe pants.....Wink

OneLittleLady · 28/08/2013 21:44

My school uniform was red and black so perfect colours for me Grin

Drywhiteplease · 28/08/2013 21:49

Forgive me Frugal for I have gone a bit bonkers Grin
Had a lovely shopping trip ( DD came but I made it clear "this is a trip where I'm trying on loads "....how did we end up in Primark Hmm buying her jeggings, boyfriend jeans and having a near miss with a pair of distressed denim dungarees that made her look like a hillbilly Grin )

I picked up these thank you to whoever mentioned 20% off......fantastic for £39!!!look lovely. Chuffed.

Then tried and bought this it's very red, really lovely, will be great for work.

Then I went to try these and these
Was expecting the Mary Jane/Prada rip offs to not fit my wide fit but they were fab on.,v pointed, v directional. The second pair I had to order pay for and will try on Friday. Like both, the pointy are v cool , might stab a child at work though. The second are a safer take on a more pointy, not so scary but a bit half hearted? Any thoughts?

Waiting for Boden jumpers and Cos skirt to arrive.

Shop lovely o get compliments from strangers...could you link the dress? This thread is having a very good expensive influence on my wardrobe.

Foxy I'm trying to order bifolding doors ATM ...haven't the first clue. Have bought 9 oak doors, some funky nickel handles, oak flooring.......stumped at bifolding doors.Confused

Unlauf worse still is seeing something in a magazine, finding its not in stock, stalking for months then finally hitting the jackpot, celebrate, order, spend days watching for delivery then when it comes it's crap Sad......

linus colours;

I love blues (airforce/grey blue is my favorite, but also cobalt, navy.)
Greens, forest is my favourite, but also apple green, khaki ....never lime. I adore peacock colours (would love a scarf with a peacock print) teal, turquoise, mint greens....
I really love blackberry, chocolate brown, rusty red, burnt orange, most greys. Black.

I hate yellow, lime, lilac shudders , fushia pink, pastel pink, most pastels infact.(but I think they look lovely on others, just don't suit me)

What season would I be anyone?

Drywhiteplease · 28/08/2013 21:55

Shop love the boots

Drywhiteplease · 28/08/2013 21:58

shopafrolic · 28/08/2013 21:59

Drywhiteplease · 28/08/2013 22:02

Gosh, I be you did look fab Shop

OneLittleLady · 28/08/2013 22:05

Shop, I'd been eyeing up that dress myself but decided against it as I thought it might make my hips look even wider than they already are and I didn't think there was enough waist detailing for me. How's the fit on it, is it as slouchy on you as on the model?

shopafrolic · 28/08/2013 22:07

Thanks Dry
Yes One v slouchy, great pockets

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 28/08/2013 22:08

Comes in the same red as your skirt too Dry

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 28/08/2013 22:09

Looks as tho red has sold out but there's this one

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 28/08/2013 22:09

In fact, looking at your Pinterest, I wear a lot of your colours, odd because I think we have v different colouring.......this is what I don't get about colour analysis. Or is it that I may be wearing colours I like but don't actually suit me Confused

Drywhiteplease · 28/08/2013 22:10

I'm not sure if I could wear that really bright red so close to my face though shop

OneLittleLady · 28/08/2013 22:23

It may be just too slouchy for me then shop shame as it's really nice. Bet you look fab in it Envy

shopafrolic · 28/08/2013 22:23

It's a dark art to me too Dry! Some of your colours seem cooler toned than mine? A few more pastels? I think your red is brighter and clearer than the tomato red of my Levi's Dress for example. I really don't know.......

QueenCadbury · 28/08/2013 22:36

Evening. Quick catch up before I go to bed. Haven't had chance to check out all the links though.

Best colours for me are electric/cobalt blue, emeralds, Chinese/lagoon blue and damson.

Worst are definitely yellows/browns/oranges/limes etc...

Aargh, dd is crying again. Could be a long night. And predictably sil doesn't want to go to Westfield anymore. Boo.

AmberNectarine · 28/08/2013 22:38

My uniform was purple and white with a little bit of grey. Purple tunic dresses over purple gingham shirts in lower school, then purple blazer/jumpers/cardis over white blouse and grey shirt in high school.

When I went to my reunion recently (and missed the MU) I wore white jeans and a purple Wang vest. Must have been totally subconscious - didn't even realise until we were st at lunch and someone pointed it out! They were also the colours for my wedding (I have a purple sapphire engagement ring), indoctrination starts young.

Drywhiteplease · 28/08/2013 22:50

Tbh Shop the red of the skirt is brighter than I'd normally go, but I really love the skirt and with it being on my bottom half I guess it's ok. Yes probably cooler...I'm fair but not blonde.

Funny Amber . My uniform was royal blue, loved it,v me.still have the blazer! (Boater in primary!!!)
