Not sure if they're the KM ones mig but quite possibly. I love J Brands. They're pretty much the only jeans I wear these days. MiH gets good press here/elsewhere though so need to give them a go at some point.

Saw this Paul Smith pink coat on Wear & Where blog and am a little bit in love. Not sure a pink coat is the most useful though (esp as pale pink ones will prob be everywhere this A/W). They do a navy one too - practical but a bit dull?

santamarianovella · 28/08/2013 11:43

morning all!
sleep love your kitchen,i like the look of a modern one, ours is not very big,but it has a sub zero, will be extremely sad to leave it behind if we sell Sad.
linus i own a moncler coat so does dh Blush, and its the best thing ever, they keep me warm in those freezing morning SR, or when we visit my inlaws,up north,i saw the marant jacket you linked in a store in south of france( lots of fantasy shopping, when the weather was crappy there) and it looks very nice, but its not lined, they had lots of lovely tops in washed silk cant find a link anywhere, really gorgeous,

novice there are lots of excellent kitchen designers far far better than the known ones, and at a fraction of the cost.if you like can send you a list,
queen i think a black dress is a good idea for your 40th!

shop Envy of your red aga.

love all the gap links,

mcnally i love the look of pink coats, but im sure i will be bored with it in no time.

Sleepwhenidie · 28/08/2013 12:01

Thanks Novice, in answer to your question I am ruthless about stuff not getting dumped on the island all goes on the dining table instead. Two dishwashers mean there's never any dirty dishes etc hanging around and the gloss finish and Corian are very easy to wipe down and don't show smears too much.

Really hot here today, I am feeling very aware that its the last few days of holidays Sad. Will be nice to get home and have a little child free time to myself though Grin.

shopafrolic · 28/08/2013 12:05

So I want to thank you lovely Voguettes (yet again). Am wearing my Whistles khaki dress today with tan Spiral boots. Ladies (customers) in two shops I went into asked me where my dress was from and told me how great I looked. This isn't a boast - it's a genuine thank you - being on this thread makes me happy, and now that I am dressing well I feel much more confident. Flowers
QueenC classic black would potentially last you longer but wouldn't it be fun to make more of a statement? :)

Since the J Crew tees were unavailable I picked up these
American Vintage and French Connection tees instead.
Oh and the J Crew store is apparently due to open 1st November (or within a few days of that date)

Shop That is lovely to hear and like the burgundy T. Great colour for the new season.

Queen Go for an embellished dress w/ really cool shoes. I like LBD's and there are some lovely ones w/ embroidered, beaded or twisted boat neck and round neck collars. Very Audrey.

Umlauf · 28/08/2013 13:31

mig Seville is beautiful, you'll have an amazing time! The shopping isn't fantastic however... There is a Loewe store (I love the colours) but I found Italy so much better for leather when I lived there. I really rate the Adolfo Dominguez stores in Seville, Hoss intropia has a store there too. I found an amazing boutique the first time I visited Seville in the Jewish quarter, and tried to find it again last time and had no luck. The streets are like a maze... It sold burgundy velvet block heeled court shoes...

I have just seen this and now want nothing more than a gold sweatshirt! Bloody thing has already sold out in my size Envy I have just bought this statement necklace and this chambray shirt instead though. Hoping I can wear over a cami for easy BFing maybe with the whistles skirt.

mcnally I keep eyeing up hot pink stuff, I think it's a subconscious reaction to having a boy! I need to stop as it really doesn't suit me.. The pale pink Zara coat is much much nicer IRL and v cheap in Spain so I may get it, but it WILL be everywhere. There are 6 Zara stores in my town and little else so it's like the residents have a uniform.

Don't you hate it when you see something wonderful in a magazine MONTHS before it arrives in store? Gap silk slipper shoes, I check every day..

Sleepwhenidie · 28/08/2013 13:59

Sorry Anni I was being a muppet with pin. Another vote from me for the Hudsons Smile.

I love the pink coats around too, but also fear they will be ubiquitous and look dated by next year.

mignonette · 28/08/2013 14:01

Thanks for that Umlauf. You sound like you have led an interesting life w/ all that travel. I enjoy shopping but I most enjoy just wandering really so am looking at literary/culinary connections to the area. I think the poet Lorca spent time in Seville. The writer Frances Mayes wrote a sequel to the Tuscany books called 'A year In Europe' and mentions Seville a lot so will take her book w/ me.

6 Zara stores in your town! Oh my. And yes I hate it when magazines w/ their longer lead times feature stuff that hasn't dropped in store yet.

McNally · 28/08/2013 14:02

Ah, so nice to get compliments from strangers shop.

That coat is lovely Umlauf - how annoying though that Zara is the local uniform!

MarshaBrady · 28/08/2013 14:09

Shop that's great. Bet you look ace.

I like the look of the oversized pink coats, but I find it a difficult colour.

I saw a tartan Stella M coat in Liberty. I did think that date pretty quickly. But I suppose it's for people who don't mind wearing a coat for half a season.

MarshaBrady · 28/08/2013 14:11

Umlauf love that gold sweater and agree the pink Zara coat is very pretty, I couldn't do it however. I think pale pink is a no go for me.

Turquoiseblue · 28/08/2013 16:12

Ohh lovely kitchens - I might pin some of those links for future reference ! Dry - I think we might have similar frames of reference when it comes to 'research' Grin
I ve house envy - impatient now wish I could fast forward a year to when we re buying - called to a local estate agent and they said we should try buy sooner rather than later as houses in our area are selling and prices increasing, not to mention bidding wars for the properties. All I need is to rob a bank!
Well I had a 1/2 day from work - planned it in prep for back to school but I find I m more organised than anticipated so allowed myself a wander round the shops.
Spotted a lovely salmon coloured coat in the window of ?possiby Sisley I think.... Realised I m wearing mason scotch chinos in terracotta, day birger pink lace cami, tan mulberry, (and whistles snakeskin tote for extras) &stories spotted scarf (cream with rose gold metallic stitching) , it would have co ordinated perfectly today. But maybe not on many other occasions.
Spotted a few lovely lovely pieces on Madison scotch - on phone so can't link but will try later. Oh and the most daring and fabulous gold skirt and jacket in cos - anyone seen it ? Will try link later - couldn't do them together by as spectates they would be interesting.
Umlauf - I have that chambray shirt - wear it with pencil skirts with sleeves rolled up, red jeans and cream blazer for more classic look, and with a green lace Zara skirt and brogues for different looks. Any other suggestions ? I love it. (Though I jumped and bought it pre reduction) it s great with khaki jeans and biker/ ankle boots too for a daytime look.
I really need to pull my wardrobe together - new to think how to make pieces work together better and not just buy random bits. I need boots and a coat too this year. Really dislike footwear shopping - I just don't rate it! Though I do love it for others I m just not someone who lusts after expensive shoes. The coat decision is between two I ve seen, but holding out a bit longer as want to see when collections come in store proper. Anyone actually bought a coat yet?
And do you reckon biker/ leather jackets will have had their day after this winter ?

foxysocks · 28/08/2013 17:48

I think biker jackets will always be cool.

I didn't see the gold skirt in store, do you have a link?

London is sooooo hot. Am wearing new cos dress, love it. Such good drape and slouch. I hope it washes well.

foxysocks · 28/08/2013 17:50

Oh and we are doing our kitchen extension in about a month! Excited. My looked at flooring and those folding doors so far, can't wait to get choosing.

OneLittleLady · 28/08/2013 17:51

Today I bought : a bottle green with black polka dots and 3/4 length sleeve dress, a burgundy and black jacquard patterned dress, a wide leather look waist belt, forest green tights, a cream scarf with red roses and black skulls pattern, a pair of leather ballet flats with a cream bow on them and some Lush Flying Fox shower gel. I also tried out the new Armani perfume, Si, which was lurvely and is now on my christmas list. I also eyed up some fleece lined leather boots in miss selfridge. Happy with my clothes purchases, would link but can't find them online Sad

LinusDKD · 28/08/2013 18:59

Impressive shopping one! I am still on a shopping ban so I have been pinning like mad on my A/W wishlist.

shop how lovely to get compliments from strangers, especially women!

umlauf I like the pink Zara coat. I think I could wear that colour as it looks like quite a cool pink but I need something a bit more fitted.

queenc I love cords for winter. 3 weeks after giving birth to DD I bought two pairs at Esprit (forest green and royal blue) and I lived in them last winter.

santa Moncler has got some very nice coats (I am definitely going to try on the one I linked) but I guess I have seen too many oligarch's wives wearing their more blingtastic designs in Geneva and in the mountains.

Actually DF has a Moncler raincoat, needless to say it was bought by DM and not by him because he has no clue about fashion.

Wednesday Night S&B question: maybe this has been asked before but what are your favourite colours and what colours makes you come out in a rash?

My favourite colours are teal, cobalt and fushia
I absolutely loathe lime green and very orangey orange.

OneLittleLady · 28/08/2013 19:02

My favourite colours are black, petrol blue/green, purple and red/burgundy
I hate anything yellow and I'm not a fan of brown really

Umlauf · 28/08/2013 19:05

Oh turquoise how does it come up? I ordered a 12, was a 10 (with boobs!) pre pregnancy but am anticipating massive breast expansion.. And I've put on 3 stone! I'm a bit worried it will be tight but also didn't want something that will only last a month or two and then swamp me...

MarshaBrady · 28/08/2013 19:15

I think my favourite colours change depending on what is about to be in season.

But I know I should be careful with baby pink (although I do have a bubblegum pink I&I jumper) and wine colour. Or dark green. Or strong cobalt. Am thinking of stuff I bought and sent back.

Best ones on me I suppose are pale grey and aqua blue. I rather like orangey red too.

Oh I know the worst colour combo on me is black and red. Too strong.

Umlauf · 28/08/2013 19:17

Sorry, I missed the bit about other suggestions! I like yours a lot and will probably copy them! Especially red jeans. I was going to wear it with the whistles pencil skirt and converse in autumn, brown chelsea boots in winter (I only bought it as they styled it with the skirt and I loved the look), with dark brown and burgundy skinny jeans (cheapo m&s ones until weight settles) and ash wedge trainers, maybe undone over a silk camisole and black jeggings, maybe it will work tucked into the whistles carrie skirts from a couple of seasons ago (the midi length pleated ones, mine is coral). I'm getting excited about its arrival now!!

mig not very exciting I'm afraid, I was only in Italy for an Erasmus year and we are in Spain because of Dhs job. We live in the 2nd most expensive town and people here are incredibly wealthy and so well presented, everyone has the viktor&rolf bugaboo and carries Balenciaga cities. We took a road trip to see more of Spain and were amazed by how hard the recession has hit the rest of the country. We only had one day in Seville (I thought it would be fun to try and visit the whole of Spain in 10 days..Hmm ) so didn't see enough of it as I'd have liked, I'd love to go back! So I can't help with literature or gastronomy there really..

My favourite colours are jewel tones, I love garnet and emerald, and khaki for basics.

AmberNectarine · 28/08/2013 20:07

Colours.

LOVE purple, charcoal, cobalt, burgundy, emerald, navy and bright pink, orange (not on me)

Not so keen on pastel anything, red

DESPISE chocolate brown, beige, mustard, pistachio, raspberry pink.

Worst colour combos - black/red, black/chocolate brown, orange/green, black/pastel

Favourite colour combos - black/navy, navy/orange, burgundy/cobalt, grey/orange

LinusDKD · 28/08/2013 20:08

santamarianovella · 28/08/2013 20:21

linus def give it a try,I hate the shiny patent ones,I have this one, but in navy, and if I wear it with my tods suede biker boots and hogan bag,I definatly look very touristyGrin.
My fav colors are burgundy, navy, anything earth toned, grey, orange, turquoise looks good on me,
Don't look good in green ,pink or yellow, doesn't suit my olive skin tone.

shopafrolic · 28/08/2013 20:31

Evening all. Umlauf LOVE that gold sweatshirt, I had my eye on it too but wasn't sure when I'd wear it, I like to dress things down so it would be a daytime thing if I buy it.

Favourite colours - warm greys, black, tomato red, dark peacock blue, orange
