Don't you remember? We got ours last of the last?

shopafrolic · 25/08/2013 22:26

Or perhaps that was just me :)

Matches do occasionally do codes apart from sales preview.

Shop, I love Pistols, have them in black and tempted to buy another colour (if the house we are after falls through!).

Nice shopping, QueenC, I like the shoes a lot.

I love Prada and Miu Miu (though only have accessories), and American designers like DVF and DKNY, I love everything I've bought from them still. I have quite a few nice scarves as well, some from my mother and some I've bought. I love the upper eastside look.

I've never bought anything from Topshop so wouldn't buy from their collaborations either. Cavalli and Versace are not my cup of tea either, even if I had the cash. I would go for Roland Mouret rather than VB, not that it is going to happen anyway!

Gorgeous bags tonight, Amber.

MarshaBrady · 25/08/2013 22:31

Oh yes I remember being on the 'and everyone else' list Grin. But is that just before the sale. Do they do start of season or other random times?

shopafrolic · 25/08/2013 22:33

Decam how long have your Pistols lasted you? Do you wear them hard? Trying to work out CPW as I do live in boots so might be able to justify.....

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 25/08/2013 22:33

Ah thanks Decam.

Which pistols would you go for? I'm thinking that tan colour if I do.

shopafrolic · 25/08/2013 22:35

And yours Marsha you say you're rough on shoes.... Have they lasted?

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 25/08/2013 22:39

I'm afraid they lasted a season, both times. But yes I walk a lot and wear everything out.

shopafrolic · 25/08/2013 22:42

Oh dear! Am off to sleep on it......

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 25/08/2013 22:44

Oh don't let me put you off, I ruin shoes.

I bet they last forever on others.

AmberNectarine · 25/08/2013 22:55

My Pistols are still going strong after nearly 2 years but I have many boots.

mignonette · 25/08/2013 22:56

Dry I'm not a fan of Stella the person as she comes across as being a bit snotty and 'mean girl'. Also a little Confused as to how she got Kate Moss modelling her graduate collection considering she claims to be an 'ordinary' jobbing designer Wink....She has worked hard I admit and did her Saville Row dues but without the famous Father, would be interesting to see how well she'd have done.

I do think the offspring of the famous can be very disingenuous about the leg ups they receive.

mignonette · 25/08/2013 22:56

She's wearing a William Pearl corset under that suit Dry....

Decameron · 25/08/2013 23:00

Shop, I think I have had mine about a year, they still look good. Marsha, yes, I think the tan colour too.

The Matches codes - I got one last autumn I think as I hadn't bought from them in a while, 20% off. They don't give them out too often, sadly!

Decameron · 25/08/2013 23:01

Mignonette, completely agree about Stella.

MarshaBrady · 25/08/2013 23:02

Yes Stella got a massive leg up, I agree. Probably some top rate help there on the way too. How to build the brand all that.

I usually wear my shoes to death each season and then have a few that I wear less frequently. Eg the Lanvin wedges are still fine but they aren't much more robust than the pistols.

So Shop. don't worry about the pistols, they should be fine.

Decameron · 25/08/2013 23:06

Shop, I wear them a couple of times a week. Really comfortable. But avoid the mum boots threads, some people hate them!

Drywhiteplease · 25/08/2013 23:12

Mig the stuff you know!Shock how the heck do ou know about her corset? Hmm
I had the most beautiful dress based on a 1950s Style, all nipped in waist, 3/4 sleeve, slashed neck and pencil skirt, made for my sister's wedding, it had a built in corset...bloody amazing .

mignonette · 25/08/2013 23:22

My head is full of useless bits of information Dry... I recall an interview with Mr Pearl when he named some of his clients. His corsets have a very specific shape and peering closely at that suit, she has either copied it or is wearing one as I think I can see its form underneath. He wears a corset too- scroll down this article to see Mr Pearl. T'is a little creepy TBH.

mignonette · 25/08/2013 23:25

Sorry, here it is again.

Drywhiteplease · 25/08/2013 23:40

Wow and Hmm Mig

mignonette · 25/08/2013 23:53

Jaw dropping. Think Stella was heading up Chloe when she encountered him. Kylie Minogue used him too for her tour. Makes me think of the Laura Ingalls Wilder stories where she watched Ma and her Aunt lacing each others corsets by bracing their feet against the bed post as they pulled on the corset strings! Ouch....

QueenCadbury · 26/08/2013 06:38

So i've dragged myself out of of bed (kicked by dh more like!) to get up with dd2 and said to her 'I love you'. 'I love daddy' she replied. Nothing like a bit of gratitude Grin.

dry welcome home. Envy that you've done all your washing. I've got one load left to go! Totally understand about the AW clothes excitement post holiday hence my shopping trip yesterday.

Interesting scarf chat. I think I'm probably better off starting plain so will return the gap one and lookout for a cobalt scarf. foxy remind me where yours was from? Also foxy do you like Lakeland as we're getting one at the mall. I fear I will now have less money for clothes as I'll be buying baking stuff!

After buying suede shoes I've realised I don't know how to look after them. Do I just spray them with something?

shopafrolic · 26/08/2013 08:03

Morning all
QueenC get some suede protector spray and use liberally regularly, and a suede brush to clean dirt and stop the suede going flat and shiny.
Friends coming over for a BBQ today so need to get prepped. Enjoy the rest of your BH weekend ladies

Shop if you've not left the building (metaphorically). What did you think of the designers I picked?
