Queen l love CD stuff have a few dresses and tops / skirts combos from her pervious collections. She uses very lovely and feminine fabrics and textures (fabric and lace). Te dress is lovely might be worth a look in real life as sometimes pictures don't do justice. However I do think I seen several high at versions of this kind if dress

shopafrolic · 21/08/2013 08:24

Thanks for the DB wake up QueenC
Pretty dress but agree with Amber that it might be difficult to accessorise.
I've made a note of that tip Sleep Glad holiday is going well, enjoy the cycling. We'll miss you on Saturday x

I tired the Chi Chis on again this morning. One shoe does up on hole number 2, one on hole number 3. They seem odd because the buckle sits so far forward I think, but I checked the pics online and that is how the model wears them. Hopefully I'm stressing over nothing. That said, I'm still going to head to Whistles and sanity check myself!

The good news is I do still love them.... Grin

TRIED - pass the coffee!

foxysocks · 21/08/2013 08:43

Me too shop. I feel hungover but haven't had any alcohol for days, weird.

Dry that story is hilariously awful, I would have wept! I am also terrible at hiding emotion, my face = my feelings.

Queen I think I agree with amber- nice frock, but not special enough for the ££

It's boot day here! Outnet delivery due, luckily DH WFH so we can tag team leaving the house, I do NOT want to miss them

No idea what I'll wear on sat, ESP as we are driving over. It will be casual, I cannot do day dressy at all. Maybe a skirt and tee with flat sandals, or jeans and pointy DvF flats.

Drywhiteplease · 21/08/2013 08:44

Shop the ankle boots are gorgeous.......
Sleep Grin at the Feddies!
Morning QueenC I remembered Wink and glad you're holiday is going well. The dress is pretty but I prefer some of the others you've pinned .
Mig are you ok?you're a bit quiet.

foxysocks · 21/08/2013 08:46

roll neck jumper for shop

MarshaBrady · 21/08/2013 08:48

Shop love the boots.

Sleep hello! Lovely to hear from you. Sadly I can't claim anyone knows my shopping history except the outnet etc but my father gets that kind of thing happening when he buys for my mother.

Foxy yip yip how exciting.

QueenC I'm in the not sure corner too. The shape is a not as wow and sexy as the other ones.

LinusDKD · 21/08/2013 09:42

Would it be too early to pin these for SS14?

When I left the nursery today after DD's second settling in session one of other mums who had dropped off her son at the toddler section left at the same time as me, and she looked so stunning, she made me feel like a badly dressed troll.

She was the Nordic Godess type with perfectly coiffed blonde hair, stunning figure (slim but with curves), dressed in a crisp white shirt (how does she do that with a toddler?) and cream chinos and wearing beautifully understated but expensive jewelry. She wasn't carrying a bag but I bet it was perfect as well. And she made it all look effortless.

Sigh.

Will catch up when DD naps.

OneLittleLady · 21/08/2013 10:13

Those are lovely sandals linus gold doesn't suit my skin though so I'd have to find something similar in silver. I'm honestly not even sure I'm actually cool toned I just know gold really doesn't suit me

mignonette · 21/08/2013 10:19

Quick Hi to everyone Sleep- work related quiet I'm afraid. Have a lot of d/v's so not much time to read MN in office catch up.

I have late afternoon free today so will catch up hopefully. Am missing being at home TBH.

Laughing at the Freddie Mercury get up Grin.

Queen I like the Dinnigan and don't think it is frumpy. Would look cool with the right grown up accessories to avoid that child-waif look. I'd put it with some Caroline Issa for LK Bennett shoes (the bright ones) or heeled shoe boots and either bare legs or winter tights. Then add a clutch bag in a neutral colour and modern shape if your shoes are bright or a patterned/bright clutch with plain shoes and you're good to go.

You could also wear it under a big wool winter coat with shoe boots, flat Brogues or Monk straps and it'd look very cool.

mignonette · 21/08/2013 10:20

I meant Dry not Sleep. God I am muzzy headed today.

shopafrolic · 21/08/2013 12:22

I've had a brief mooch round town this morning. I went to Whistles and discussed the ChiChis and she confirmed all fine. I tried this scarf and am very tempted but will have to wait and hope for the Grazia 30% off - that's ages away isn't it? Can anyone recall? The dress in the same print is also lovely but as I still haven't had the chance to wear my Bella there's no point in buying another. They have some lovely things coming into store but everything I looked at was polyester and acrylic.
I went to the Dressing Room to take a look at this chunky knit but it's only 12% wool and the brown is also more grey IRL so not for me. But I did pick up
this bracelet which I'd been eyeing up for a while so I didn't come home completely empty handed.
It's warming up here - might have to resurrect the shorts.....

Linus I like that you're on SS14! Now that's forward thinking.

I'm in a very bad mood today due to having been let down again by a customer who now owes me in excess of £25k and has left me in a very embarrassing position. I am Angry Angry Angry.

I have come here to enjoy the frivoloties and live vicariously through you all, so please ignore me scowling in the corner and show me some pretty things I can be pleasantly distracted by.

QueenCadbury · 21/08/2013 13:39

That's not good grumpy. How does someone get away with not paying that? I seem to remember that last time we distracted you with lovely links we got onto half naked men!

Thanks for all the honest feedback about the dresses. Irl the 2 people I would go shopping with are 400 miles away and my mum would be disgusted by the amount I'm looking to pay so I really value your opinions. I just need to get trying things on but I don't want the faff of returning lots of things and having the expensive outlay of buying loads of stuff. Roll on October!

mignonette · 21/08/2013 14:06

Grumpy my sympathies. We had to initiate court proceedings against a customer who thought DH was in the line of business of giving away free basement conversions. They were perfectly happy w/ the work, so deliriously happy they forgot to pay him. Sometimes you have to forgo good will and sue them Angry. We won BTW.

Here is cheesy to cheer you up, Grumpy.

Annianni · 21/08/2013 14:17

Grumpy Angry for you!

Good news on the shoes Shop.

Your holiday sounds lovely Sleep.

I'm stressed after wallpapering... how on earth am I supposed to make it go round bends?!

Bastard 1930's windows have curves round the edges, and they're an absolute bugger to do.
I can cope with straight lines any day...

Annianni · 21/08/2013 14:20

I like the dress Queenc, but think you can get something nicer for the money.

Sleepwhenidie · 21/08/2013 14:36

We have stopped at a bouncy castle village, unfortunately adults aren't allowed to bounce Sad so I am sat in a shady spot with phone. White top now smeared in ds2's blood as he fell off the bench at lunch and banged his head (he's fine now, bouncing away), but extra specially stylish Hmm. DH was laughing at my 'look' again as we left the house earlier, even said ' ooh if your mn mates could see you now, would you still be allowed in the club'? Hmm. hysterical.

OneLittleLady · 21/08/2013 14:40

don't worry sleep I'm trampy unstylish at the best of times, I'm usually covered in pasta sauce or melted cheese Hmm

foxysocks · 21/08/2013 14:41

where are you planning to head on your london shoppping trip, queenc? marylebone could be good, matches, yum.

i sodding LOVE the outnet. boots are here and fit like a glove, am SO happy! I would not mind if the sun disappeared right now so I can start wearing them. the buckles are tres useful as well as looking fab, means can cinch in for tights and a neater look or wear with a little more slouch. so me. j'adore.

honestly, how good is it to get a current season style at that discount? they are brill!

LinusDKD · 21/08/2013 14:45

these beauties arrived just now.

Sadly they're not for me but for DM who couldn't find them where she lives so I ordered them online for her (DM doesn't trust online shopping with her cc)

They are gorgeous but two sizes to big for me...

grumpy that sucks! And such a large amount!

To be fair about those sandals, if I wasn't on a shopping ban I would have bought them already as we still have nice weather here in September and sometimes October. So I will start a SS14 board and pin them!

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 21/08/2013 15:27

mig that's hilariously cheesy! Although, I suspect, not entirely tailored to the heterosexual female market...

I know all about these type of people. This man thinks he can keep at least 2 racehorses in training for almost 4 years and we'll not only do the work, feed them, ride them, race them etc, but we'll also pay for them too. I mean, racehorses fgs. Not exactly one of life's necessities.

OneLittleLady · 21/08/2013 15:33

That's terrible of him grumpy I hope that you can sort it out, that's an AWFUL lot of money to be out of pocket over. Even if you can afford to stand it, why should you if he's meant to be paying!?! Some people's cheek never ends!
