Santa maybe me too. Might not happen!

Good idea One.

Wow at the clutch Stalked.

Can't wait to have a look in the shops.

shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 21:54

how about this Marsha

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 21:56

Is that Chanel? Ah grunge Chanel. So good! Grin She looks great.

GrumpyOldHorsewoman · 19/08/2013 21:56

I'm sorry I deviated away from the tartan talk. I had re-visited the Longchamp website to try again for my 'grungy' sweater to go with my trews (still sold out in olive) and got a bit sidetracked.

I have a bit of a challenge for you. My Godson is getting married a few days after Christmas, bride-to-be has a v glam job and the event sounds very swish indeed. Bearing in mind the season, some grand surroundings and a likely glamorous guest list, can I tentatively ask for outfit ideas? I don't want to go 'full-on festive wedding', but a nod to the time of year would be in order.

I'm off the shoes now, Chanel-alikes it will be. Grin

Grumpy what do you have? Do you want to get something new? Sounds very glam and very nice.

santamarianovella · 19/08/2013 22:09

Fave jeans, like marsha and shop,I also love the look of the wide leg, specially MiH Marrakech kick flare.

grumpy what do,you have at the moment? If you plan on buying,I think the Zarita dress by dvf is a very chic choice,

QueenCadbury · 19/08/2013 22:10

grumpy that's a tricky one. It'd be easy to get carried away by the festive season and of sparkly/sequins/faux fur etc but I agree, may be a bit 'full on'. What sort of venue is it? Old church and travelling to reception eg need a warm outfit/coat or all inside so can get away with less?

QueenCadbury · 19/08/2013 22:12

I so wish that dvf dress didn't have an exposed zip. Not sure by, but I have a hatred/phobia of exposed zips Confused

BrandyAlexander · 19/08/2013 22:12

Hi all, I hope you have all ad a nice day.

i had professional photos done today so was stressed doing hair make up and nails and choosing outfit this morning. Let me tell you that photoshop editing they can do is amazing! I look like a much better version of meGrin

I sorted out a mortgage in principle this morning. And then this evening we saw the house. Dh and I can't decide what to do. It is somewhat tatty inside and we could spend a lot of money doing it up which we may not recoup. We are going to sleep on it.

Finally, charity stuff is doing my head in. Wish I could explain but working with the other charity is going to prove a very expensive route as they are billing their time at consultant type rates so big decisions to be made there too.

Decisions decisions decisions!

BrandyAlexander · 19/08/2013 22:14

Ps can't see me doing tartan at all

QueenCadbury · 19/08/2013 22:21

Oh novice that sounds like a disappointment with the house. What was your gut reaction? Was it the one? Regarding the charity, it sounds crazy that you have to pay all this money to get it off the ground. Must be really frustrating.

Off to bed now. Can't believe that even on holiday that dh and I still sit in companionable silence on our own iPads!

shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 22:21

Grumpy what kind of venue is it? What time of day? I went to a wedding at a castle at dusk just before Christmas one year, but it was black tie so I wore a heavy lace black dress. Lots of faux fur to be seen there..........
Do you have pieces in your wardrobe already or are you buying from scratch?
That DVF is stunning Santa. Textured fabric is a good choice I think.

AmberNectarine · 19/08/2013 22:21

I'm wincing novice - that could suck up a lot of budget!

I like these Marsha - I hate my spending ban. FWIW I reckon you would rock a kilt.

shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 22:23

Novice you don't sound as excited now you've viewed?
I'll join you on the not doing tartan!
Sorry to hear about the charity link up not working out so well. Can you negotiate?

Dresses for Grumpy

Whistles Sofia dress - not festive but glam
metallic cream - I love this - couldn't wear it myself unfortunately
would be perfect in red!!
work a 'treetop fairy' look if you dare!!

Marsha I didn't buy the blouse - poly put me off, but it was very nice, quite luxe looking - I may take another look this weekend.

Loved the group effort to ensure Foxy got the boots at half price - result - high fives all around Smile

Tartan - makes me look like a farmer - too 'sturdy' of shoulder and thigh to pull it off....

Turq your DS sounds adorable.

AmberNectarine · 19/08/2013 22:26

Goldsign virtual for me mig, have indigo, mid-blue and grey. Hoping they produce a black pair, then I'm set.

AmberNectarine · 19/08/2013 22:27

But high-rise super skinny is my style, so nudie high Kai, Topshop Jamie etc all work.

AmberNectarine · 19/08/2013 22:28

Could someone PM me re. Mini MU? I'd love to try and make it.

shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 22:28

Can you make Saturday Amber?

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 22:29

Xpost!

Drywhiteplease · 19/08/2013 22:29

Tartan....mmm......One you've just reminded me that I have a tartan VW handbag somewhere....will dig it out this winter.

Grumpy that sounds exciting if challenging. Is there a dress code? Fur collar would be fab.

Novice all a bit tricky.......defo sleep on it. If its your forever house you would be in it a long time, wouldn't you eventually recoup your investment? A toughie.

shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 22:31

I've PM'd you Amber

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 22:31

Oh no Novice that sounds v expensive (the consultant rate). The house, I'm sure you would make it amazing. But also good to think about if you want to do that before jumping in.

Thanks Amber! I'd have to be careful, but could be good. Love those slippers! Very much. They are fab for you too, if your dh gets them they don't count right? Wink Fab re Saturday!

I had some VW pirate boots once, they only lasted once season. But they could have been good if they had lasted.

libertychick · 19/08/2013 22:31

I almost put the DVF Santa linked on my list for Grumpy too but I think at Christmas a of of people will opt for lace.

Novice what a PITA re both the house and the charity. How much work does the house need - could you live in it while doing it?

YY Marsha could definitely do a kilt.
