Queen Maybe she's getting it over and done with now? or she is working on something truly special for her adolescence! My niece has the most spectacular strops and she is aged just 8 and 1/2. Whilst in Germany we wheeled her Mother in a wheelchair to the hospital campus gelateria/pizza parlour. Niece wanted to push her despite 1) chair+ human being too heavy and 2) wheelchair being faulty in its steering. At one point she nearly tipped her post-C Section mother off the kerb and when I firmly took the handles back she stormed off then ran away. Spent half an hour scouring the campus for her and by god did my limited German come into play when i found her.

Shop - I have got some Ibuleve gel and hot packs which is the most I can hope for as taking Ibuprofen/Diclofenac a few months ago gave me an ulcer. (Take me out and shoot me.)

What is your favourite jean, dye or colour and cut? Am interested to hear what you all wear.

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 21:14

Oh yes very nice Shop!

I'm torn between liking these Lucy Choi heels or thinking they look like my 1st grade pencil case Grin

mignonette · 19/08/2013 21:21

Marsha They are very cool shoes. I really like them because they have that 'Kim Novak' straight across the toe cut so when you look at somebody wearing them head on you get that really elegant shape on the foot. They are so classic and ladylike. (Writiing an essay on a shoe here.)

SJP wore some similar. Think they were McQueen? I have a pair of ice blue/black tartan pants, cigarette leg and ending above the ankle in a pure new wool. They are flat fronted with a side zip, very 1960's in shape. Will be getting those out for sure and wearing with a heavy woollen sweater in a trapeze or slouch shape. The other option is to pair them with a sleek dark wool crew neck or is that too beatnik? They look good with either Urchin boots or sling backs. I have worn them with just about every type of shoe bar high stiletto.

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 21:25

Thanks Mig, I feel the same. They could be my nod to the look this a/w. (I thought for a minute there you'd all run away from the link as too bad, Grin)

OneLittleLady · 19/08/2013 21:28

I'll be getting some tartan flats marsha as I just can't walk in high heels. Up to 2.5/3 inches is as high as I can manage. I have terribly flat feet, there's barely even a hint of arch on my feet, so heels above that height just cripple me and give me extreme pain down my sciatic nerve. Much as I'd love to be able to wear skyscraper heels, I've realised they are just not for me!

LinusDKD · 19/08/2013 21:29

I like those shoes marsha!

Yes, like mig says, go all Kim Novak with those shoes a pencil skirt and tight fitting jumper. Wink

QueenCadbury · 19/08/2013 21:30

mig I dread to think what she'll be like when she really is teenage. In some ways we're very similar and clash a lot.

My fave jeans are indigo colour ( although don't mind a little paler for summer) and need to be straight leg or a bit of flare. The favourite pair I own are my gap skinny flares from years ago but they need heels so down get worn on a daily basis. They make my legs look long though which is no mean feat as I'm 5'5 with only a 30/31 inch leg.

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 21:31

Actually you're right they are very high. Not sure I can go that high!

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 21:32

Thanks Linus off to google Kim Novak Grin

Favourite jeans. Hang on let me think...

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 21:32

Mid-rise for sure. Even deep dark indigo, no white specks in the denim. Skinny to ankle.

shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 21:35

Whispers "not sure about those" Marsha sorry.

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 21:37

Ah that's ok Shop. They are a bit crazy.

shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 21:37

Favourite jeans as per Marsha or slouchy, lighter distressed denim Paige Jimmy's.

And I'd probably get to the end of the season and think wtf do I own a pair of tartan pencil case heels?

shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 21:38

I think I need to see you in AW mode. The only times we've met it's been sunny and warm. They look too constructed for you IYSWIM......

OneLittleLady · 19/08/2013 21:39

My favourite jeans are whatever happens to fit Blush I love coloured ones but like black bootcuts as the balance my hips a bit better than any kind of skinnies do even though I do persist in wearing skinnies

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 21:41

Yes they were a wild card thing for sure. I need to get into a store and start compiling. It's a great way to get an idea of what's there. I always swoon in Matches on Marylebone St and get light-headed at all the lovely (but very ££) stuff.

mignonette · 19/08/2013 21:42

These Dries are lovely but £££;

Nervous of Tartan? I like This and am tempted to machine sew some tartan onto an old navy sweater. A mega expensive DSquared coat here fully expresses the plaid look.

This Sea plaid dress is adorable but maybe a little young for me and shorts for the long of legged will look great with woolly tights and flat boots. To do plaid outer wear this Madewell mac is perfect over solid colours.

This silk plaid/black dress is cute

HOW I WOULD DO GRUNGE-PLAID

This shirt w/ leather buttons and again, if it was cheaper I would snap up this DSquared peter pan collared shirt in a new York minute. I love it. Demure but grunge plaid.
I really really want this Preen dress but will have to wait and hope for a sale. I see it under the Miu Miu coat i covet for that French overgrown schoolgirl look crossed with lumberjack grunge plaid.
What a bugger that this has sold out as it'd look good with sloppy/smart cardigans or a parka plus flat or cowboy ankles.

shopafrolic · 19/08/2013 21:42

That's supposed to be a compliment BTW!

Be still, my beating heart

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 21:44

Thanks! I think you're probably right. I need a way to do tartan... hmm will look at Mig's links.

MarshaBrady · 19/08/2013 21:44

Lovely Grumpy!

OneLittleLady · 19/08/2013 21:47

What about a tartan scarf or bag marsha ? it might be a less scary way of doing tartan

santamarianovella · 19/08/2013 21:47

foxy yay!, I wanted the grey ones, but unfortunately they sold out,as i was having trouble logging in, terrible blackberryAngry

grumpy loooove the cream Zara dress,

mig ouch!it sounds painful,I can never tolerate ibuprofen too,

marsha even chanel are into tartan this year,it's more like highland meets grunge chic,I would look awful in it,like an emo,

linus It takes me a while to tan,but I hardly burn, look funny with my red nose, and tan color, was very careful today,
A trick my great aunt taught me( who is in her 70s with amazing skin and never used sunblock in her life) is to apply honey after being exposed to the sun,it helps to maintain the tan,and reduces sun damage.

We took the dcs today to see a whale show, they loved it,it brought back happy memories, my dad ,took me and my cousin to see the exact show,18 years ago! it hardly changed! Wore a maxi dress, and havs,as the entire park is very wet!
