Oooh, looking forward to a heat wave! My tan (the only good thing to come out of my disastrous Portugese holiday) has been fading rapidly - I need to get it out again before it goes completely.

Oh shop, hope DS is ok. What is it about children and summertime accidents? Almost every injury my DDs have sustained have happened during summer holidays.

The chunky knit in Red is on Longchamp's website, although annoyingly they haven't named the knitwear and I'm on iPhone, so can't link. It's a thigh length cardigan in a chunky olive green. Truly lush.

Drywhiteplease · 17/08/2013 20:45

Oh no Shop poor you. Sounds like your cork popped so to speak. People earnestly asking how you are is often a toughie. Have a Brew and a chocolate digestive and a virtual hug from yours truly. DS will be fine....you need sleep, you time ( pref retail or spa based) and DS to go to pre school. Does he go in Sept? The sun will be out tomorrow....get your bandeau top on,legs out, panama on you'll feel much better Smile

shopafrolic · 17/08/2013 20:47

Thanks all. And yes Dry if people didn't ask me how I am I'd probably never cry Grin. He's back to preschool in Sept - I'm counting the days, he misses it.
NEED to find a pic of that jumper........

OP posts:
Drywhiteplease · 17/08/2013 20:52

is this it?

BrandyAlexander · 17/08/2013 20:54

Ooh love that boot Sleep Thanks Mig, not sure how I missed the Burberry. I can't find it in my size though :( will look again later!

Shop, you poor thing. stress x

Dcs are just asleep so dh and I are going to have serious house chat. So far he has only says he likes it, not whether he likes it enough to move!

Sleepwhenidie · 17/08/2013 21:03

That's the one Dry, although given what Grumpy said about it being sold out, I'm not sure you should torture yourself Shop! Is there anything in Red that's not sold out already I wonder Hmm?

Cornwall sounds great QueenC Smile fingers crossed for inbound good weather for you Smile

BrandyAlexander · 17/08/2013 21:07

I hop we are having a heat wave! That would make it a well timed visit to Center Parcs 2 years running. Having been there when the weather was diabolical, I much prefer a heat wave!

shopafrolic · 17/08/2013 21:15

Oh that is gorgeous......
Sleep you're great at knowing what we all love! Flowers

Interesting talk about jewelry , I love it,specially designs by pomellato, and bulgari, love how intricate and modern their designs are.

shopafrolic · 17/08/2013 21:42

Hey Santa glad the flight went ok. Location sounds gorgeous.

OP posts:
mignonette · 17/08/2013 22:07

Hi Santa Glad you got there all in one piece. Oh it does sound heavenly.

One I never really tan. Freckles? Tick. Slight glow on face if I am lucky? Tick.

Shop Don't want to trigger more tears but Flowers and feel better in yourself soon. I always agree with the saying that little boys needs exercising like dogs- a run twice a day but God do they get into scrapes.

Linus I loved the coverage of the gorgeous Cartier jewels belonging to the Duchess of Windsor that they auctioned off-the Panther brooches and bracelets (swoon).

Both my children were very sunny upon awakening as little kids but when they got older? Oh boy, hold onto your hats, Ladies!

libertychick · 17/08/2013 23:53

Oh Shop your poor DS - and poor you. Hopefully he will sleep well tonight - I am always amazed at how fast they recover. This is the cardigan Sleep was recommending for you.

Linus I was hoping the Me&Em trousers would go in the sale too as I'd like them in black as well as the navy. I assume they must be very popular.

libertychick · 17/08/2013 23:55

Hmmmm somehow I missed about 15 posts and have just seen that Dry has already linked the cardi for Shop - time to sleep I think Smile

BrandyAlexander · 18/08/2013 07:46

Morning all! So dh and I had the big house chat last night. He started off by saying that he didn't want it because its not his forever house but agreed in the end that we probably won't be moving for another 6/7 years because of schools so in the meanwhile it would be nicer to live in my dream house. So good news! The last time a house came up I wanted (I love our current house btw!) it was 3 years ago, I was pregnant and he said no way. I was gutted. Someone said its fate and I agree!

The complicated thing now is financing it. We would buy dream house before selling current one so we would very temporarily have a v big mortgage. Dh hates debt of any sort and started banging on about reining in the spending. My face was like this Shock although I quickly covered it up to try and make it look like this Smile while inwardly thinking Angry, i am really looking forward to Autumn/Winter spending!! (Small mercies....at least he didn't try and touch the money we have earmarked for giving to the charity.) wonder if he would notice that Burberry Brit coat in my wardrobe?Wink

Drywhiteplease · 18/08/2013 08:07

That's great Novice and v exciting. I do think things are meant to be...life's funny like that.
My A/W wish list is getting v long. All work wear so far.
Have a good day all........

LinusDKD · 18/08/2013 08:42

Morning!

santa enjoy your holiday and well done on flying solo with DCS.

novice yay! Good news of the house. I am constantly on the look out for houses I love, even though we only bought this one exactly (today!) a year ago.

It's not our forever house either (location is great, architecturally not wow) but it is perfect for our needs at the moment.

liberty I think I will buy those trousers once my bank balance recovers from my recent splurges.

Looks like a hot one again today, I'm probably going to wear one of my Splendid maxi tube skirts with a M&E boyfriend tee and havs.

foxysocks · 18/08/2013 09:14

eeek. after two weeks of pondering I have just taken a deep breath (and a strong espresso) and ordered these boots of beauty

I absolutely love them but they are just SO expensive, I have never spent that on boots before. if I do decide to keep them I have promised DH won't buy any more boots or shoes till SS14 Shock

what do you guys think?

they are very me so if they fit and are as nice in the flesh I shall have to wear them daily over AW to get the CPW down!

foxysocks · 18/08/2013 09:17

novice how exciting re: the house! are you coming to the mini MU next saturday?

is the heat wave country wide or just london? I have been eyeing up my lovely knits, i know i know, but am getting pretty excited about AW now...

MarshaBrady · 18/08/2013 10:17

Foxy if you love them, keep I say. They will be fabulous. I'm keen on some florentini&b boots too. The shearling-lined ones. Eek can't wait to try on.

Novice exciting, go for it.

Santa sounds gorgeous, have a lovely time. Well done for flying solo. Ages ago I did it with ds1 to Aus. So long ago now.

Drywhiteplease · 18/08/2013 10:30

Bloody hell Foxy they're gorgeous! Can't see price but don't care. I really really like them, and occasionally, like my Nancy, you just fall in love with an item that is ££££ but just have to have it. They're always the best things because its the heart over head thing.

DH annoying early riser and action man on holiday has become addicted to Game of Thrones thanks DD, love my children and unable to even get in shower or dressed early this holiday Shock. An interesting turn of events for yours truly! I'm ready for a "morning" of sightseeing Grin
I'm wearing my gold Gigis, Gap real straight turned up surprise, barganous slouchy burnt orange F Connection t shirt (semi tucked...get me!), Chan Lou ish brown wrap bracelet.......MN inspired,

OneLittleLady · 18/08/2013 10:53

Just wanted to thank you all for all your support. I truly wish I was as great as you all imagine me to be Thanks

BrandyAlexander · 18/08/2013 11:25

Lovely boots Foxy.SmileI am not there next week as we're off on hols on Thursday.

Dry, your outfit sounds lovely.

One, don't do yourself down. You sound lovely.

OneLittleLady · 18/08/2013 11:26

Oooh, where are you off to novice ?

Topazandpearl · 18/08/2013 11:27

Oh One you are! (but we never see it in ourselves).

Shop the tears may have helped relieve some of the stress. Your DS's accidents coming just after your holiday must have been the last straw (and you have had a stressful year). Hopefully September will give you time to recover and relax.

Mig my DD is a strange mix of horrendously messy and very organised! Her revision notes were all colour coded and indexed, her wardrobe is a vision of organisation but her room is a disaster - every surface cluttered with 'stuff'. I'm not sure which way she'll go at uni. She'll either be the one drawing up cleaning rotas or the messy one they all complain about!
