Hello, just popping on to say thank you for your help! I have a white 36F and a black 36ff (same style & make- bonkers) bf bra. I will be back when I finish feeding DS with new measurements and looking for lots more lovely well fitting bras.
My boobs already look much better! Thank you!

Hopasholic · 06/06/2013 16:15

Hello! I am back from my bra shopping spree and I am exhausted! M&S were as expected............. USELESS! The lady measured me and put me at a 34D or 34DD. after measuring myself last night I knew I should be more like a 32FF. I let her bring me a stack of bras but then she pretty much left me to it even though I'd booked an appointment ( I expected she'd asses each bra and then offer other sizes if they didn't fit) I kept calling her back but she just gave me different style bras in the same size. I must have tried on 20 Hmm.
I left the cubicle and went for a search of 32FF but they didn't have many and the ones I tried, the cup was too big. I left without purchase ( few knickers..... Oblibitory!)
I'd parked up at John Lewis and had to pass the lingerie section, I was looking at the strapless Wonderbra when and angel from bra land came over! Smile
She was JL fitter for the north of England and trains all JL staff how to fit customers. She was fab! She looked at me, no bra on (me, not her!) and declared 'you are a 32 E''
I left with a strapless Wonderbra,(not 32Edue to type of fit, can't remember size) and two 'Fantasie' bras in 32E.
She agreed that M&S can't fit bras for toffee (she'd even been in herself just to mystery shop them) and I shall never return Smile
I have super norks now and an empty bank account as I had to purchase the matching knockers.
I lefts comment card at the till as she really was fab!

Hopasholic · 06/06/2013 16:16

Knickers of course not knockers Grin

TryDrawing · 06/06/2013 16:54

Grin matching knockers. If shops could supply those, we wouldn't have a problem.

MadBusLady · 07/06/2013 10:48

Grin matching knockers, brilliant!

Isn't that the second time in the last couple of months the Fail has run an article with exactly that message, that women are wearing too small a backsize and too big a cup (ie contrary to what is usually true)? I think the last article may have been about inaccurate labelling causing women to do that.

It's weird, can they really have an agenda for this? Why??

Saltire · 07/06/2013 13:39

sorrel did you mean Cleo Juna or Cleo Jude

SorrelForbes · 07/06/2013 13:44

Oops, sorry, Cleo Juna.

Saltire · 07/06/2013 13:48

Thank you, I was looking for it and typed in Cleo June and up came Juna and Jude. I was Hmm

Silverstar2 · 07/06/2013 17:38

Hello ladies! I have just ordered the Cleo Jasmine from Bravissimo, as I had a long talk with a lady on the customer service dept on the phone when returning yet another failed order a few weeks ago, and she said it may fit. It is like the Juna at the bottom, and the Andorra at the top (which I love but the wires are too high and dig in under my arms). So, I ordered a 34GG, and it is okay, no digging under arms, but I think the cup may be a bit too small - I often find I get 4-boob just in the middle - so am waiting on the 34H to see if that is better.

But it is a lovely bra - just wish I could get is in a more neutral colour as in summer I like to wear white tops a lot.

Will keep you posted.

I've been on bra threads before but am yet to find a bra that is comfortable. I am breastfeeding which I think is the big problem. I've always worn non wired bras and always been comfortable but I now know that size wise they have been very wrong.

I followed the advice and measuring myself came up with 36J. I bought one but while it is comfortable during the day while wearing it, by the evening I am left with deep red marks at the side underneath my boobs. The band rolls up there so I'm wondering if that is causing the pressure to be concentrated in one place rather than spread evenly. Last month I went to Bravissimo and they changed me to a 36K. Unfortunately I am having the same problem.

I'm starting to think that I am a hopeless case and am currently wearing my comfy 42DD and 42E as I don't get any pain or marking with them.

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/06/2013 18:47

Are the marks causing you discomfort, or are they just...there?

Which bra is the 36K? I have one or two which flip over at the bottom of the band (the Alana from Bravissimo is a bugger for it)

RubberBullets · 07/06/2013 19:36

They are painful. It's a Royce Sadie.

StatisticallyChallenged · 07/06/2013 20:12

Ah. I missed that - I could be wrong but I remember reading somewhere that because of the design non-wired/maternity bras can be a bit of a nightmare for flipping up. And they generally have much thicker elastic too. There were alternatives suggested, I will try to find the post

hinkyhonk · 08/06/2013 09:53

Convert honour checking in for duty.

I measure 30 and 35/36 depending on how generous you are feeling.

Have been wearing a 34a/b or a 36 a so expecting a big change but went to bravissimo a few months ago and she said a 32 c/d would be fine which they don't stock and a sort of lost faith in their measuring as well. Although I've got small boobs don't I deserve the right size too?

Anyway I've carried on wearing the wrong size bra but I'm off to rigby and peller today to get their opinion and then I'm giving up!

SorrelForbes · 08/06/2013 10:00

hinkyhonky. Honestly, don't give up! I've found that R&P often fit 1 size bigger in the band. Not sure why but might be to do with their size range. During my last visit I had to insist on a 30 back rather than the 32 they brought me to try.

Have you tried fitting yourself? Honestly, you can do it by going somewhere like Debenhams and taking a shed load of bras in with you. Just follow the Bra Guru guide.

hinkyhonk · 08/06/2013 14:30

Woop woop have a lovely pretty hideously expensive bra that is comfortable and fits. As predicted wearing totally wrong size.

StatisticallyChallenged · 08/06/2013 15:47

YEY!

Crocky · 09/06/2013 17:53

Can I ask for some help? I measure 29 under and 35 over. I was fitted in a 28e Freya deco by bravissimo which I like but can at some times in the month make me look like I have four boobs and other times like the cup is half empty. I would like a bra that can stretch and shrink with my fluctuating boobs but still give me some nice cleavage. Any suggestions?

sparkle12mar08 · 09/06/2013 19:16

Honestly? I don't think you're going to find it, Crocky. Your best bet is to buy a bigger cup size for those times when you're swollen or retaining water. In fact your core size should probably be 28F not E, so perhaps try a 28F and a FF or even G as well. I f you only wear the bigger cup a few days a month, there are some stunning bargains to be had on ebay - I've just bought two bravissimo Satines for £11 the pair, and have had £££ expensive Fauves for under a tenner.

HazleNutt · 09/06/2013 19:23

Moulded cups tend to do that, you could get along better with non-moulded bras

Lambzig · 09/06/2013 19:27

Can I just say, following advice on here i got a new bra size on here that was radically different, and under further advice I just bought a bra size bikini for the first time.

I cannot believe the difference. I had resigned myself to a swimsuit for the beach and no bikinis for my post 2 DC, 40+ body. I actually cried when I tried my old bikinis on a month ago. The bra size one somehow gives me a waist, a flat(ish) tummy and I feel I can wear it in public on holiday.

Flibbertyjibbet · 09/06/2013 19:45

I haven't read the whole of this thread but have followed the previous one. Up to having kids M&s said I was 36a for years. After kids and a bit of middle age spread (had kids at 42 and 43 so went straight from baby bulge to m a s!) M&s fitter said I was 38b. I've felt like my boobs were just sitting there with the bra on them rather than being supported. Boobs seemed to be sagging out to the side and the bit between boob and armpit looked awful in sleeveless things.

Read the thread and thought it impossible that I could be a 34E going off my measurements.

But I looked down at the bra I was wearing. It wasnt tight and I was constantly pulling it down. If I hooked up the straps to lessen the sagging, the band just rose up at the back. And the centre bit was a full inch away from my chest.

I got my debenhams card out and went shopping. I declined to measured in store but took a ton of bras in different sizes and styles in with me.

Yes I am a 34E/DD depending on brand. They fit. My nipples look forward instead of the floor. The middle bit is flat to my chest. And in this warm weather I am wearing sleeves things with far less armpit bulging.

The fitter in M&s who sold me 38b said 'you can drop a dress size with the right size bra' yet sole me something that had me looking saggy and middle aged. And how the deck can someone be measured for a bra whilst still wearing an old one that might be the wrong size???

I will never ever touch marks and Spencer's bras again with a barge pole.

Crocky · 09/06/2013 20:14

Thank you Sparkle. Will have a look.

Crocky · 09/06/2013 20:16

Hazelnut, the problem I find with non moulded is they just don't give me any shape. I have very droopy breasts :(

HazleNutt · 09/06/2013 20:18

flibberty do you think you could write to M&S and complain? If they get enough emails saying the exact same thing, they should, hopefully, listen eventually and we might be able to save the next generation from ill-fitting bras.
