Just to add, dd has no broken bones on X-ray but when they took the cast off she was limping still and in pain. She's now sporting a bright pink plaster cast for the next 2 weeks to allow whatever injury she has done to settle.

Annianni · 02/05/2013 13:14

Hope she's better soon QueenC.

I have the zara linen tee's and they change shape when washed.

Those shoes are lovely Shop

Annianni · 02/05/2013 13:16

My scarf's been dispatched Foxy, I did get a bit excited when I saw the email :o

No sign of my Gap and asos orders though Hmm

shopafrolic · 02/05/2013 13:19

The Me&em maxi has arrived so will try while DS naps. Will let you know re: clinginess as I have the same issues. The maxi wouldn't be much good for running around in though....
The only linen tees I have are Zara ones, no experience of NEXT ones.
QueenC sorry to hear that DD is still in pain but glad there's no breaks. I hope she feels better soon. Glad you like the Carmex. If you travel to the US it is much much cheaper so I try and buy it in bulk from drug stores or at the airport!

QueenCadbury · 02/05/2013 13:22

I hate those bloody zara linen tees. I bought one last year, love the colour but can't wear it since washing it. I should have taken it back but staff in zara scare me. I might just keep the next one and return it if it does ruin in the wash.

santamarianovella · 02/05/2013 13:22

my parents did our wedding too, im an only daughter ,so for them it was their dream to have a fancy traditional wedding.my mum went mad it was like she was the one getting married not me,im [blush ] to mention the price f my wedding dress, and the fact that we went to NY,as it was cheaper there.
but if it was up to me ,i would have gone with a cheap wedding.

AmberNectarine · 02/05/2013 13:41

Not sure whether may parents wanted to pay for my wedding or not, but it was not an option, I would never have let them. I have basically my whole working life ahead of me, they've done their earning - I want them to enjoy their retirement.

Classic eh? Might have to send it back Wink. I think of white and gold as synonymous with that Eurotrash look. I bloody love it. Must stop buying white accessories, what with the boots, bag and Clarks brogues! Really I should stop buying accessories end of story.

Wearing my new favourite necklace again today - love a bit of tribal in the office.

MarshaBrady · 02/05/2013 13:50

Santa ditto, well more daughters, but they enjoyed doing it. Long time ago now.

Shop let me think. Got to work out whether we'll end up with a pair we both don't want.

MarshaBrady · 02/05/2013 13:55

QueenC your poor dd, hope she's all better soon.

Carrie. Foxy love those outfits.

Maca welcome!

foxysocks · 02/05/2013 13:56

I would email madewell to ask about size, shop. They advised I get an 8 which they said was equiv to 5.5 because of the pointy toe.

Hopefully · 02/05/2013 14:06

QueenC I have a Small Me&Em and it is definitely cling, rather than skimmy, but that's hat I wanted. I've seen someone slimmer than me in a medium and it was a much more relaxed, skimming kind of fit, iykwim.

Speaking of tribal, Amber I missed out on a tribal print topshop skirt on ebay earlier. Can imagine it being good with casual plain t-shirt and flip flops. Ho hum.

My parents helped out a bit with our wedding, but it was a v handmade garden affair, so not too horrendous apart from the marquee and the band. I had [[http://www.phase-eight.co.uk/fcp/product/phase-eight//Pandora-Wedding-Dress/202171106 this dress] but I Shock at the price - it was £350 when we got married, which was only two bloody years ago! It also came down to the floor on me because I am not seven feet tall like the model.

Hopefully · 02/05/2013 14:06

this dress

Decameron · 02/05/2013 14:06

I think that bag looks very classy, Amber. I am in a Boden top today (plain white though). I like some of their stuff.

I will indeed let you know if I have more jeans, Shop. I have one cupboard left to tackle.

Liberty, buy one dress now and then more in the sales. Grin

QueenC, the ruching on the Me & Em dresses is good for hiding those bits that need help (I find!) and I have a couple of looser dresses that skim. Poor little DD, hope her arm heals soon.

I paid for my dress and the photographer, my dad paid for everything else. He wanted it that way so he could chose the restaurant, menu, wine etc, also I am the only daughter. I don't think I argued too much. He also paid for the wine for my brothers' weddings. He's a good old stick really!

shopafrolic · 02/05/2013 14:07

Good call Foxy there customer service seems brill so far.
So this is a keeper
Just lovely. Great colour for me, great fabric, perfect long length. Love love love.
Other 2 dresses still to arrive....

Decameron · 02/05/2013 14:08

Lovely dress, Hopefully.

QueenC, yes, meant to say, I buy medium in Me & Em and I am a 12 so they aren't too clingy.

BrandyAlexander · 02/05/2013 14:09

QueenC, how dd feels better soon

BrandyAlexander · 02/05/2013 14:22

I am at the expensive end of wedding dresses. I had a couture dress. Was simple, bloody gorgeous and fit like a dream. The designer and dress making team were amazing. V patient. i had work stresses and was losing weight so ended up with 8 fittings - i sent them a massive delivery of choccies afterGrin. My shoes were Joseph Azagury. They custom made the shoes to match my dress swatch. They made an error with the shoes, they arrived with Swaroski crystals instead of pearls but looked fab thankfully. Good thing too as was made in Italy and they had all buggered off on holidays! I normally get summer shoes from there as the shoes are fab. Really recommend them.

AmberNectarine · 02/05/2013 14:29

To be fair, I did not turn down the very generous cheque my parents enclosed in their wedding card. I was just glad to get it all over with really - I felt like a knob on my wedding day - white dresses not really me!

McNally · 02/05/2013 14:56

My wedding dress wasn't couture but it was at the more expensive end. My lovely mum bought it for me. We paid for the rest of the wedding ourselves. Only sensible thing I did was wear red Louboutins which I still wear now.

Parisisalwaysagoodidea · 02/05/2013 15:01

Wow, you lot move fast!

Those Joseph leather trousers somebody linked to are right up my street. They'd have to be significantly reduced in the sale for me to afford them though.

Hi Maca nice NBs. I have these.

My wedding dress was £750 from preloved. It was long with a train and stuff but I got a dressmaker to lop a load of the bottom so it was ballerina length. I want to sell it but not sure how to go about it now it's been altered so drastically. My wedding shoes were from River Island as well Amber. I bought some Jimmy Choos but thought I was probably going overboard with the spending so returned them. I had so many compliments on the shoes (even from the vicar!) that I'm glad I saved the £500.

I have had a dry cleaning emergency today. I went into DS's disgusting room and saw his suit lying on the floor. We have a funeral to go to tomorrow, cue me begging in a few dry cleaners in town!

The funeral is my Mum's best friend, a v glamorous lady and I am currently painting my nails dark red, like she always wore, in tribute to her.

Annianni · 02/05/2013 16:04

My Gap order's here...

That grey sweater that Liberty suggested is very nice and lovely in the fuchsia too, but too clingy for me.

The cardigan however is probably a keeper. It's quite boring but it's the sort of thing I can leave in my car on days out, and will go over most things.

The grey flats are too big, and had a mark and scratch on anyway.

Still no sign of the asos delivery, that was ordered on Tuesday and was supposed to be next day delivery!?

Annianni · 02/05/2013 16:07

That dress is lovely Shop

I fancy a long dress for Summer, but nothing too clingy.

shopafrolic · 02/05/2013 19:41

How lovely to have spent the whole day in the garden!
I'm still waiting for confirmation of DH hotel next week before I can order any US clothes. Hopefully we'll know tomorrow.
I'm really thrilled with the Me&em maxi, will be wearing it tomorrow if the weather stays like this.
Paris I hope the funeral goes as well as these things can.......

Boden colour block pointy flats arrived today. The 40 were way too big, the 39 fit well, but rubbed and I didn't hold out much hope of the patent lasting. If only they'd been a soft leather, they'd have been perfect. Going back tomorrow.

shopafrolic · 02/05/2013 21:08

Oh what a shame Carrie
