Neon Nikes

foxysocks · 01/05/2013 10:56

i have two childfree mornings so get to pop on here in between cleaning and general catch up jobs

i saw that blog and thought of you guys!

shop are you going to get the madewell flats do you reck? i've still seen nothing as nice over here in the months since marsha first linked. unfortunately it's my 'frenemy's' husband who could get them for me but as i'm still mad at them am not going to ask

Hopefully · 01/05/2013 11:11

Foxy i got a 30" waist and 30" leg and they are a good fit on my fairly bog standard size 12 bottom half. I didn't want them super-skin tight though, as not sure that would be a desperately clever look with white jeans. I think my other Baxters are a 28" waist but they're a fraction small at the moment.

I have sorted out the relatively easy bit of my wardrobe - the basic clothing (because there's hardly any of it!). On to accessories, scarves, shoes etc.

Any good Pin recommendations to follow? I am struggling to find nice S/S inspiration outfits to base my small shopping list around.

Hopefully · 01/05/2013 11:11

I say bog standard - my thighs are quite big (saddlebags. Sigh), but the rest of me is in proportion.

foxysocks · 01/05/2013 11:27

i agree, tight white jeans is not a look i wish to emulate. I might get a 26. if my tight skinny goldsigns are a 24 is that a reasonable guess? i also don't know which length to get though, i will wear them rolled up to 7/8 or sometimes higher. i'm 5'9. standard 32? ugh, too many decisions!

AndiMac · 01/05/2013 11:33

libertychick sorry for slow reply, I was off sick with a fever. Didn't even want to surf Mumsnet! Hmm, interesting question about the sizing. I think you could probably get away with the smaller size due to the stretch factor. My only concern might be how the pockets lie, whether they lie flat or flap out. Thanks for the links too!

Hopefully · 01/05/2013 11:37

I'm 5'6" with fairly in proportion legs, and the 30" leg is just about ankle length - a fraction longer than 7/8ths. Summer length, IYKWIM?

foxysocks · 01/05/2013 11:45

i know exactly what you mean and I want the same length. farking hell, i think i'm going to have to go and try on in store, I'm 3in taller than you so don't know whether 32 or 34s are going to be best.

QueenCadbury · 01/05/2013 12:06

anni hadn't checked out bum for a while for just have. They're certainly a lot shorter on her than on me! I really must get them chopped as I like the length they are on her. How about leather converse? We have lots of matching gap clothes so we could have matching shoes too?

blondambition · 01/05/2013 12:39

Foxy I have white Baxters in 26/32 and think I'm similar size to you although you're an inch taller. Think they'd be spot on, I tried the 34 leg and were quite bunched around the ankle. 32 are full length on me, just.

Just back from 60km bike ride in glorious sunshine, now MN'ing and ignoring the kitchen floor in desperate need of a mop.

Like those neon Nike's MrsR, and good price too. Wonder if they ship over here? Agree Hopefully, was a wise move to get the ones you really loved.

My payment for the Choos is pending, as apparently the seller doesn't have a PayPal account although that was the only payment option she offered Confused. Hopefully she will sort it out soon.

Right, off to tackle the floor whilst thinking what my dating ad might say Grin

blondambition · 01/05/2013 12:40

Grin at Anni and QueenC and their matching wardrobes. There must be a fair few duplicate items in the MNV wardrobes!

foxysocks · 01/05/2013 12:48

Oh yes there are loads of duplicates/triplicates!

The cashmere silk scarf has arrived and omfg I am in LOVE. It's huge, soft and beautiful cobalt colour, not quite as bright as it looked online which was the only thing concerning me. For £23 it's even more amazing. V pleased I didn't fork out for CL now.

foxysocks · 01/05/2013 12:49

Oh missed you blond, thanks for the advice! Maybe will order later although have another pair in my sights too so may be a toss up.

santamarianovella · 01/05/2013 13:21

i didnt get a matches code either!and i bought a couple of things from them back in feb,i hope they dont turn into NAP.
foxy i know how you feel about asking frenemies for favors, would rather die than give them the satisfaction! saw lovely chambray shirts at MIH,but way too expensive.

Drywhiteplease · 01/05/2013 13:38

Annianni stop it! but will take a peak anyway!

shopafrolic · 01/05/2013 14:40

HaHa! Just seen DH's list preparing for his US trip. It says tickets, passport, pack etc etc. and then shopping list from me!! Smile
So Foxy fingers crossed the flats will be mine - and if they don't fit I reckon there'll be a few interested parties on here?

Decameron · 01/05/2013 14:40

I think my ad would say "Warning: Irish dancing may occur when this woman overdoes it on the wine."

My DD2 loves her new shoes, chip off the old block.

Glad the scarf is nice, Foxy.

So glad you are pleased with the jeans, Shop and apologies for the Goldsign habit you will now develop! Can't you get the stuff you want delivered to your husband's hotel? That's what I used to do as DH would run out of time or get it wrong otherwise!

I don't think I've ever bought anything full price at Matches so I guess I can't complain.

shopafrolic · 01/05/2013 14:47

Decam GREAT idea - you are a jean fairy and a true genius!

Hi ladies . Had some me-time today with a full body massage. It's been about 5 years! Bliss.

Sleepwhenidie · 01/05/2013 15:00

Hi everyone, wow, turn your back for a second and this thread is about 100 posts onGrin

Anni were you asking about a coral neon scarf? I have one from Whistles, it is this but in coral pink, I had the last one in the store I was in, looks like it has sold out online. I am unsure about it on me though, so was planning on taking it back, unless you are interested? It was £45, happy to post it on if you want it. Let me know and I can upload a pic. By the way I meant to reply to your question about my friend's gift, I got her this necklace, it is so pretty. I love the silver/gold contrast. She seemed pleased Smile.

Shop I can't remember if I said congrats on DH's new job, such fantastic news, bet you are still on a high! Added to the bonus of him shopping for you, plus the sunshine at the moment yours must be a happy house Grin.

No Matches code here either, think the last thing I bought was just before Christmas so probably fair enough. I am trying to hold off finally ordering this top from NAP...sale must be coming up soon surely? I sold some Jimmy Choos (not yours Blond!) on eBay so feel like I should invest the proceeds in something a bit special bit I would be gutted if they reduce it in a month! Any ideas of timing of NAP sale anyone?

Decam are you coming to MU? Would love to see some Irish dancing Grin.

QueenC your poor DD, DS1 did a similar thing when he was about the same age, they thought it was a greenstick fracture and he spent 24hrs in plaster, which he also seemed to just accept, but was in quite a lot of pain, so they removed it and it turned out to be just a bad sprain, poor little guy. Its horrible going through all the hospital stuff with them Sad.

Foxy, love the sound of your cobalt scarf? Where is it from, sorry if I missed earlier link, there are just too many Smile.

Amber - gorgeous collar!

Annianni · 01/05/2013 15:00

Sorry Drywhite, but you did say you loved the fit of the Whistles dress :o

I've tried the pewter Zatchel with my outnet peacoat and my navy Whistles jacket and it looks nice.
It also looks fab with grey.
So I might keep it.

My American ebay Goldsign's are finally here. And at first glance, they are divine.I shall try them on after the school run.

That's really sweet Shop
And yes, definitely get things delivered to his hotel.

Sleepwhenidie · 01/05/2013 15:04

Oh - and Amber - you still are "in your youth" GrinEnvy!

Annianni · 01/05/2013 15:09

Thanks Sleep, I'll look at the links when I get home.

I can't wear Converse QueenC, dsd lives in them, so do all her friends... so I'd feel like a knob :o
How's dd today?

shopafrolic · 01/05/2013 15:33

Am looking at J Crew tees - are the vintage crew necks the best ones to get do you think?

Hello my lovelies, if anyone wants to help me win a pair of shoes, please can you go here and 'like' the rainbow stripey ones? :)
