Wotcha Herbs. What sort of shoes does Madam require?

Cremolafoam · 22/04/2013 22:57

Hi Addle , not unlike BD I live in the sticks at the top of a hillGrin
And am neither a Parisian or a Londoner , although I did live in east dulwich, gypsy hill , crystal palace and clapham as a student in the very distant pastGrin I am we'll crepey.

Cremolafoam · 22/04/2013 23:00

Aargh I need shoes I need shoes!
And a top that incorporates orange cream and navy. It must be lovely and go with a navy broderie anglaise skirt I've just bought on the slyBlush

Blackduck · 23/04/2013 06:18

Am liking new Dragon so much more effective than Angry can we keep??

Shoes, I need shoes, spring is here and it's time to get out of the boots, but not warm enough for sandals...

hattymattie · 23/04/2013 06:52

I'm thinking dragon's more bossy angry than just random angry, so we need the two. Smile

I'm off shoe shopping today - I need flats with decent soles that can walk more than 10 m without needing reheeling. That look nice and that don't get too hot. I think it's going to be a long hard search.

I was pondering downgrading face-cream to L'oreal age regenerative thingy. It says from age 50 onwards and I'm 49 so maybe. Not sure if it's too heavy for crepey skin though.

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2013 07:38

I don't really seem to wear shoes much - l have loads of boots and a variety of sandals and a couple of pairs of flats for work, but I feel more comfortable in converse/skater-trainers than any of the pairs of heels I ownHmm

Love the Dragon

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2013 07:39

hatty, give it a try and report back!

hattymattie · 23/04/2013 07:50

BTM - that's my problem - I like boots and sandals and nothing in between. except fabulous things that I could never walk in I need converse/trainers but elegant - this is an oxymoron I think. (MI will tell me so)

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2013 08:09

Yes, Yes! Please let me know if you find anything!

DS has gone off without his packed lunch - he is in that awful teen-forgetful period. Have just topped up his fob, but he will now spend it all on drinks and mega-cookies!

Hatty we are relying on you! Come back with something nice, reasonable price which we can get in the UK! (tall order)

MrsS - you okay?

herbaceous · 23/04/2013 08:35

Hmm. Me too. Said shoes need to go with either a blue, black and white frock, or a grey-and-white mottled frock. They must be instantly comfortable. Heel no more than 10cm. Preferably padded bit under ball of foot, to help me poor metatarsal arch.

It is, according to the forecast, going to be 21deg, so maybe I can crack out the sandals. Though this means extensive deforestation of the legs, perhaps some fake tan, and some drastic toenail attention.

However, as DP said, 'it's not about me'.

Lol hattie.
Please find miracle shoes!Grin
I too have boots or sandals. Nothing else whatsoever. I have a feeling I may end up in "Hotter" before the spring is over . Not a fan of clunky though Wink

bigTillyMint · 23/04/2013 08:51

There definitely seems to be a gap in the market for crepey shoes!

Herbs, a 4" heel? Go Girl!

And re deforestation, why is it my leg hairs grow so much more prolifically in the summer?

Stropperella · 23/04/2013 08:52

Lucky are those who can get their feet into sandals. I have strange cuboid feet that are too wide and high for Converse and DMs (used to be able to get into DMs but since having the kiddiwinks my feet have got even wider and somehow higher and now I can't). And I have useless wibbly ankles and a naff back (crepey-tastic, I am), so heels are just out, as are totally flat shoes. I live in boots and these . This is yet another reason why skirts, dresses and I do not get on - except occasionally in the depths of winter when I can wear a boots with a skirt. I find shoe shopping an utterly dispiriting experience as I can only go where they sell fat old lady shoes. Sadly, both dcs have feet just like mine.

Stropperella · 23/04/2013 08:56

Oh, I did find those nice Clarks brogues fitted me in a wiiiiiide fitting. Grin

herbaceous · 23/04/2013 08:59

Did I say 4" heel? I meant 1.5", at the most. And that's if walking is kept to a minimum.

I do have some ballet flats, but they're hard to keep on the feet, and make my cankles look positively Redwood-ian.

Stropperella · 23/04/2013 09:02
bigTillyMint · 23/04/2013 09:16

Actually, my Office? brogues are very comfortable, but not really suitable for skirts/dresses.

motherinferior · 23/04/2013 09:40

Oh, I love a brogue. I am going to lash out on a new pair of Clarks ones. I currently have a rather knackered pewter/silver pair of Office ones, and today am wearing clunky black lace-ups originally from Next, along with my black wrapover frock I got in the charity shop.

Eees hot. I have downgraded to a sleeveless vest (essential under what a kindly friend told me at school gate is a Boob Frock). I like to think I am sporting a kind of arty-lefty look on account of black dress and amber jewellery (Inferiorettes told me, rather disapprovingly, I looked like a Rebel Mourner) but suspect I am rather too much working the menopausal-sweaty-laydee look.

Blackduck · 23/04/2013 10:01

Stropps I luuuvy them there shoes...A friend has them and I have been meaning to ask where they came from!

But, yes, not really dress wearing shoes...

hattymattie · 23/04/2013 13:26

No shoes Sad.

I have done the basement of Galaries Lafayette - which Mrs S will confirm has a lot of shoes.

I'm going to end up in canvas lace ups as usual - sort of low converse things - in black (stylish me).

Mrs S - hope all went OK yesterday - you need to check in.

Cremolafoam · 23/04/2013 13:46

Oh hattie shame.
Everything in shops here vile. I do not like an Espadrille Wedge.Hmm
I envy my mother who spent the 50s and 60's in winkle pickets with 6" heels and no longer feels any pain or discomfort in any teetering heel . I envy her slim ankles.
I ruined my ability to wear anything with more than a kitten heel due to living in dms for years. My feet have spread and are in agony after 3 minutes in anything but flats.Grin
