I'll have a look. I might have to go to the next city over though to get a good selection to choose from. it wouldn't be a problem if I could wear contacts but I'm not suitable for them at all so it has to be glasses Sad

MarshaBrady · 19/04/2013 18:51

Decam bravo on fab bag.

Dauphin love you outfit. Would love some black skinnies and Chanel sunglasses too.

QueenC and Hopefully have a great time tomorrow, looking forward to the result!

foxysocks · 19/04/2013 19:59

argh. just had an awful moment at a friend's house. she asked if i'd bought anything recently, said yes the tee i was wearing and some trainers. she asked what they were like, I said new balance style, she acted appalled and all 'NO, no WAY, not those 90s trainers'. I googled to show her the style and she basically ripped it out of me, 'you ARE joking, they are horrendous, WHY would you wear those' etc etc. was awful. I just said look, you dress much more conservatively than me, I really like them and tried to change the subject.

now i feel like crap over the whole exchange. fucking hell, they're not that directional are they? these ones

how the very fuck are you supposed to respond to an onslaught like that? has TOTALLY taken the shine off them for me now, and i absolutely love those trainers. RUBBISH.

MarshaBrady · 19/04/2013 20:02

Ah no way foxy I really like those. They were my favourite. I'd like some and I can't even do trainers.

QueenCadbury · 19/04/2013 20:05

foxy they are definitely not tht directional as even i'd wear them and you know how conservative I am when it comes to clothes! Is she always so rude like that or was she just taking the piss and not realising how much she was upsetting you? Don't let her ruin them for you. I bet there's loads of things she owns that you wouldn't wear. If we all had the same taste it would be dull.

Next time you see her make sure you're wearing them Wink. In the meantime have some Wine x

foxysocks · 19/04/2013 20:07

thanks guys

no she isn't usually like that at all which makes it so much worse! yeah ok we KNOW we have different style but she's never been so openly rude about something I have outright said i've bought and love.

so weird and upsetting.

MarshaBrady · 19/04/2013 20:10

That is odd. It is a trend now, the trainer thing.

Show her a pic of Phoebe Philo. Not too directional at all.

AmberNectarine · 19/04/2013 20:11

foxy as someone who constantly gets the piss taken out of their fashion choices, don't sweat it. Some people make trends, the rest follow about 6m later'.

shopafrolic · 19/04/2013 20:40

foxy it's about what makes you happy. If you love them (and I think they're fab) then wear them. Perhaps you caught your friend having a bad day? If longer term she continues to take the piss out of your clothing choices then address it with her, or revaluate the friendship. Surround yourself with things and people who make you happy.....always good to review and update in life, be that wardrobe, job, friends.....x
Sorry, can't see back on BB but to those who asked I'm feeling less sore after car accident thanks. And no contact from the other driver so hopefully no claim.....
No fashion news. Still working on lots of business stuff but trying to keep up with what you're all up to. I really need another pair of distressed jeans, some trainers of some description, and some coloured vests but until job stuff is sorted for DH that'll have to wait.
Sunshine this weekend. Woo hoo!

BrandyAlexander · 19/04/2013 20:48

Evening all. Horror of a work week! Foxy, I agree with Sleep. I don't expect people to just agree with me but that's sooo rude!

Having barely existed outside of work this week, I suddenly realised I needed to sort out holiday stuff today. Bad eating habits just before hols are a total no no for the bikini lookShock

I have decided the only jewelry I am taking, is stuff I haven't worn this year as a little holiday challengeSmile

Decameron · 19/04/2013 20:53

Try to ignore her, Foxy. Or quote Thumper to her: if you can't say something nice, don't say nothing at all!

Good luck with the consultancy, Shop and to your DH for the rest of his interviews.

Dauphin, forgot to ask, how is the house coming along? And hope your father is recovering well.

BAGSNOB · 19/04/2013 20:56

Delurking quickly to say that I'm sorry your friend upset you Foxy. I remember NB as a pretty naff brand in the 90s so maybe that's what she was thinking about. At the end of the day they are just trainers so hope you can fall in love with them again.

AmberNectarine · 19/04/2013 21:12

Omg, I wore them in the 90s. They were not naff! Wink

My mum and I were reminiscing about my fashion disasters as a teen earlier. They were rich and varied.

shopafrolic · 19/04/2013 21:19

When we all meet we should bring old fashion fail pics! I have albums full!

Gorgeous bag Decam. Taking 16 5-year olds out Shock you are clearly a dedicated mum and brave woman!

Drywhite I love those sunnies .

Foxy I don't know what to make of your friend but hope you are feeling a bit better. I am quite conservative and own some NBs! And even if Pheobe, me, you and Amber are all wrong and there is a national declaration in 2 months time that NB style trainers are the naffest of the naff who really gives a damn?? Smile it's only clothes after all!

libertychick · 19/04/2013 21:49

I don't know Amber, I really don't know ....after some serious consideration I think you should dye them cobalt blue Smile

AmberNectarine · 19/04/2013 22:00

Whevs. You'll all be wearing them in 6 months.

libertychick · 19/04/2013 22:02

Probably Grin and regretting not pouncing on the bargainous pair when you first told us about them!

santamarianovella · 19/04/2013 22:13

foxyi think we all have a friend like yours.they constantly question everything you buy,and surprise surprise they secretly buy these "awful" choices few months later. just ignore her .i second wearing them next time you see her.

Sleepwhenidie · 20/04/2013 00:12

Hi everyone, just back from dinner at a friend's, first wine since hols (4 days, impressive for me Grin). Cheeky friend foxy. I have to ask, how stylish do you think she is? Channel Amber and her boots regardless, why should you care if she doesn't like your lovely trainers Grin? I bet she buys them too - probably next Summer when they will be ova --Smile

Good luck for the party tomorrow Decam you nutter

Thanks for advice re iPad screen x

Annianni · 20/04/2013 06:30

Anyone up?

What colour zatchel do I want?
50% off sale today only.

I like the metallic pewter but haven't seen it irl.
Or is the silver better?

To be worn with jeans and tee's.

Annianni · 20/04/2013 06:33

I agree with the others Foxy, definitely wear the trainers next time you see her.
And if she says anything else, just ask her if she meant to be so rude.

Good luck today Decameron and happy birthday to dd.

Annianni · 20/04/2013 06:39

I'm not laughing saying anything bad about your boots Amber, I'm sure you will look fabulous in them.

I remember lurking when you posted about bowies. And you were right, I bought some 6 months later.

I used to wear daft unusual things in my misspent youth, and people would comment.
But they'd end up wearing the same thing, or a variant of it.
