New thread for a new month! Everyone is doing so well, we are forming some great habits and, hopefully, feeling better for it.

some good links:

How To Be Groomed thread

Discount Make-up and Toiletries
Cheap Smells
Fragrance Direct
Xtras Online
Look Fantastic

Its also worth joining groups like wowcher and Groupon for discount manicures etc.

Baby steps are the way forward, and if you fall off the wagon and have a pj day (or week) its ok, just jump back on. We want to take more pride in our appearance, make an effort. As one poster said, "we think there's no point making an effort if we are just at home with our DP's and DC's, but they are the most important people in our lives - why not act like it?" I certainly feel better, my self-esteem is higher and I have more confidence.

All welcome.

Happy Fabulizing Dahhlinks

Well I decided against the shorts - thought I'd save them for tomorrow! I'm in black skinny trousers with laces up the back, charcoal shirt, black cardy and black biker boots. Red-orange nails and red-orange lipstick. Comfortable incase there's people there I don't know, but cool too.

I'll get my pins out in the morning lol Have a good eve all x

TrampyPants · 09/02/2013 19:49

Jemima, both working and lovely!!

I will wear the jacket with indigo skinnies, black top and ankle boots.

Guy, that sounds awesome. Love the sound of the nails and lipstick and outfit sounds v cool.

I've been doing a bit of online browsing and would welcome your opinions. Bearing in mind that I'm 43 so probably considerably older than most of you.

love navy

like this but not sure I could pull it off

I have a previous season's version of this and really like it

JemimaMuddledUp · 09/02/2013 21:10

I love the heart top and the tassel blouse, but I don't think I'd wear the waterfall jacket myself. That doesn't mean it isn't right for you though, everyone is different!

AlwaysReadyForABlether · 09/02/2013 21:29

Jemima I think the jacket is something I would like to be able to wear - but actually I never would!

muddlingalongquitenicely · 09/02/2013 21:34

I need to step away from ebay!!! so far I have bought a khaki military land girl style dress and a black denim shirt. watching a load of other stuff as well..

I have a challenge for you Trampy, I posted this picture before in S&B but if you can find me a blouse very similar to it I would be over the moon blouse

cosisnotarealword · 09/02/2013 22:38

hi ladies, still following all your ideas and tips, thanks again for this thread. i now mositurise am and pm and wearing/mixing about my accesories that have lain idle for years and wearing bb cream every day. my 15 year old critic (daughter) seems impressed which is a miracle. will continue to check in now and then :a

TrampyPants · 09/02/2013 22:44

Muddling, there's this will search in earnest. Tomorrow!

OP posts:
TrampyPants · 09/02/2013 22:46

And this

OP posts:
JemimaMuddledUp · 10/02/2013 09:24

I'm sure a 15 year old daughter can be a pretty harsh critic cosisnot - I'm glad my eldest two are 10 and 8 year old boys who think that I am beautiful whatever I wear Grin

Today's outfit (for the very unglamorous supermarket shop this morning, then the cinema this afternoon): straight leg jeans, black long sleeved top, black cable knit poncho, black flat knee high boots.

Weighed in this morning and have lost another pound. That is a total of 49lbs now Grin

Whoknowswhocares · 10/02/2013 09:36

Wow Jemima that's a fantastic loss, well done!

TrampyPants · 10/02/2013 11:07

I love that jacket, always. It would look great with leggings and that heart top.

Jemima, wow, that's impressive.

Cos, well done! I agree with jemima, if she is impressed, you are doing fantastically!

Muddling, I'm a-hunting Grin that dress sounds ace, I love ebay.

I had a pampering session last night, so no products today. No make up, no fiddling with my hair etc. I used hot oil on my hair and a hot chocolate face mask. My joints are sore now, because of all my walking, so a bit scruffy. Black leggings and a camel and black striped jumper with a black bow at the collar.

Thanks Trampy it's probably a bit edgier than my usual look but this thread is giving me the courage to be a bit more adventurous. There is another thread running just now about age appropriate dressing. At 43 some people might think I shouldn't wear that jacket but if I try it on and like it I'm just going to get it. So there!

TrampyPants · 10/02/2013 11:31

You know, for years I stressed about being overdressed or underdressed, but we are in our prime. As long as you don't wear it with a leather crotch-length mini and fishnets, you'll look great.

OP posts:
AlwaysReadyForABlether · 10/02/2013 11:33

Ha ha ha - no danger of that!

TrampyPants · 10/02/2013 12:37

Always Grin I really do like it and think it'll look great.

Muddling, okay, I've found this and this. There's also this in ecru, this has longer sleeves

As an aside, I'm obsessed with this oh, how I wish they had an 8 and this which I may have to get. The mango sale is fab, some great tunic dresses on there.

JemimaMuddledUp · 10/02/2013 12:39

I've been reading the age appropriate dressing thread with interest as I turn 35 next month. Maybe I should be investing in twinsets and pearls... Wink

TrampyPants · 10/02/2013 12:52

Jemima, it does make me laugh. I know this is outrageous but... People are different!

Wink

this blouse is long sleeved, but cute.

TrampyPants · 10/02/2013 13:05

Oooh can one of the office workers get this so I can live vicariously?

OP posts:
AlwaysReadyForABlether · 10/02/2013 13:24

I like that Trampy but would be concerned about flashing a bit too much for work. I tend to avoid tops with buttons for the office just in case anything makes a bid for freedom!

TrampyPants · 10/02/2013 13:55

Yes, I'd wear with a vest under. Just in case Wink

Afternoon all.

Just been to town and hated just about everything - did buy myself some new perfume though! I tried a fantastic black studded boucle jacket on but the fabric was so thick that I think I would have boiled in it - shame because it really was gorgeous.

Today I am wearing:

indigo skinnies
dark red jumper with key hole back (and black top underneath)
the same huge snakeprint scarf as yesterday
tan heeled ankle boots

TrampyPants · 10/02/2013 17:31

Remus, that sounds fab. I live in my skinnies. Bootcuts don't do a thing for me, and my boyfriend jeans are somehow massive. Which I don't understand.

Would the jacket not last for another month or so, then usable for next winter?

TurnipCake · 10/02/2013 17:44

Lovely to read of everyone's progress and updates Smile

I took my mum out to have her nails done yesterday. It's a relatively new place and I was plied with tea and biscuits while my mum had her manicure. I bought a pretty blouse while I was there.

I also bought a cashmere jumper the other week, I'm so happy to have made the investment, it's like wearing a big hug (wool makes me insanely itchy unless I wear a shirt or vest-top underneath). I'm definitely more confident in the choices I make now with my clothes, I know my sense of style and pick items to go with what's in my wardrobe and what works.

GeorginaWorsley · 10/02/2013 17:49

Agree Remus very little I like around atm.
Am returning a Mint Velvet blouse that didn't suit me and also because I found a nicer more flattering one in the back of my wardrobe!
