It had to be done.
Phew that feels better.
Over here crepeys. All very welcome (but only if you're crepey).

Picnic? Fab idea. Just hope it doesn't clash with any of my dullsville work events.

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/02/2013 07:19

We will be back in London for good, come August, so I can picnic with you.

Blackduck · 27/02/2013 07:19

OQC - sounds like a photo shoot...cucumber sarnies surely and I am crap at rounders :)
MrsS hope it goes well today.
Crem - I would like to combine it with Pompaii (?)exhibition at Brit Museum :)
Ruby hope tooth/mouth is better this am.

hattymattie · 27/02/2013 07:21

Hope you're feeling better Ruby. I probably can't picnic but shall imagine you in all big floppy hats with glasses of pimms arranged elegantly on the lawn Smile

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/02/2013 07:46

You can skype in from the Yvelines, Hattymattie.

MrsSchadenfreude · 27/02/2013 07:49

Or we could have a Crepey picnic here in Parc Monceau before I leave? The drunken Brits would stand out a mile from the beautifully dressed yummy mummies gracing the park, giving us a Parisian sneer as they pass. The Pompiers run through the park in the morning when I am on my walk into work, but this is not why I choose this route, oh no. Grin

hattymattie · 27/02/2013 07:55

Now that sounds a fun picnic mrs s - not sure I can get there in time for the pompiers though - but are we the only french crepies?

beachyhead · 27/02/2013 09:55

Good luck with your teeth today, Ruby and good luck with your 'mediation' Mrs S... I'm not sure I would be any good at being mediated (?). I might give a teenage snarl and a 'whatever'....

I am having to deal with a little man at work who thinks he's a Rottweiler, but he is, in fact, a terrier, and very annoying with it.... I can see it kicking off..

I'm up for a picnic, will Hyde Park be big enough?

Cremolafoam · 27/02/2013 11:45

up for Parisienne picnic as long as there will be goodies from
www.laurent-duchene.com/products.htm

bigTillyMint · 27/02/2013 13:42

Ooh a picnic! Yes, yes to lots of gorgeous deli goodies to eat

Ruby, hope your tooth is getting sorted and MrsS, hope you are kicking AB's AGrin

No AB's here - just AP's (where P = parent) Well one mad mother in particular who was trying to completely derail a meeting. Luckily I wasn't at fault in her eyes!

ooooh Ruby. You truly are a medical conundrum. Really hope you get it sorted out soon.
Am loving the multi tasking approach of the crepey crew. Mention a drunken picnic and all you can think about is how you can tie it in with a spot of culture at the British Museum! Am off to see the Ice Age Art next week. Will report back.

bigTillyMint · 27/02/2013 19:20

Oh Ruby, sounds crapSad

Cremolafoam · 27/02/2013 19:26

Ruby how completely irritating, and how grim! Little worse than being in pain without knowing the cause. Confused
I'm sure you must be feeling dreadful as well with all the meds. Hope you can get some sleep tonight. Thanks

OQ am dying to see the ice age thingmajig as I saw the bbc2 programme on it and was amazed!
Really would be keen to see the Bowie exhibit too! Simple fact is london involves a plane for me so I need to start planning early for decent prices.

Any news mrs S? Hope your day was ok....

Cremolafoam · 27/02/2013 19:28

I have stripped an entire wall today in preparation for new wallpaper. I'm vv proud of my work, but if my arm hasn't seized up by tomorrow ill be staggered. Hard bloody work this DIY business

herbaceous · 27/02/2013 19:36

We have the painters in (literally, not figuratively). An East End married couple, who arrive with their own radio, pre-tuned to Radio 2, and a packed lunch. She gets all the grunt work, like stripping the woodchip and sanding the woodwork, while he does the painting. To protect her hair, today she was wearing a shower cap.

I heartily approve of the idea of a picnic. Inc wine, natch, and near a lav.

CointreauVersial · 27/02/2013 19:55

I was also immersed in house improvement hell today - we had a chap in to rebuild the sagging brickwork above three windows and insert lintels (another legacy of the cowboy builder who previously owned the house).

The work was expected to be exterior only, so I went to work leaving him in the back garden, but when he removed the bricks above the kitchen window a whole slab of plaster came away above the window and descended on the sink, showering the room in plaster dust and crumbs of masonry. Of course I had everything out, dishes in the sink and so on, and have spent all afternoon cleaning up the mess. Ditto the bathroom.Angry

Cremolafoam · 27/02/2013 19:57

Herbs I love the sound of your DIY couple . A shower hat is de riguer - I myself greeted dh in one at tea time.Grin

Blooming heck ruby you're having a week of it!
Cv - nightmare crumbling wall scenario.

My hand is now so numb from scraping the wall it is actually buzzingShock

bigTillyMint · 27/02/2013 22:11

Oh no Ruby!

I am loving the showercap decorating stories. We have Roumanian painters in at work doing the woodwork - they had all the windows open todayShock but it did tickle me that whilst our usual "calming" background music was on at one end of the hall, at the other end, a builder had his music set to traditional Roumanian stuff!

Blackduck · 28/02/2013 07:23

MrsS had the mediation go?

Busy week here - re accreditation (fun) and a new Exec Dean who must view the salary we are paying him as pocket change...

Ruby - I remember my friend whose DH works for big consultancy saying the only sign that my husband's been through en route from New York to Belgium is that he's dropped off his dirty underwear Grin

Hope your teeth are feeling better.

I hate having building work - we need a new roof but I hate the disruption so much that it'll probably fall in before I get it sorted.

wilbur · 28/02/2013 14:52

Love the idea of a summer picnic, especially if we can persuade MrsS's pompiers to join us (FRENCH firemen Shock I'm swooning as I type).

Like the sound of your decorators, herbs, do they come sarf of the river? Hope there are no more disasters on the building front, CV, so frustrating when things like that happen. We have sort of stalled on our refurb plans for the house, partly because we are awaiting planning permission and partly because I just can't face the decision-making process. Plus I have huge amounts of preparation/research to do and can barely find the time to shower at the moment, let alone think about new windows. Wood, aluminium, uPVC, bi-fold door, french doors, gah! [brain melts] Am determined to garden this weekend though, before triffids start to come in through the front door.

Ruby - how's your tooth? Glad to hear dh made his plan.
