It had to be done.
Phew that feels better.
Over here crepeys. All very welcome (but only if you're crepey).

Herbs - can you ask them if your painting pair would come to Lambeff?

Today was bizarre beyond belief. We have one version of the truth, the true truth, and the AB version, which seems to have originated in La La Land. I am worried (mildly so Grin) that he is seriously delusional.

herbaceous · 28/02/2013 20:59

I'll ask the redoubtable Rob and Jan if they can tear themselves across the river!

Mrs S - I hope the powers that be only believe the one true truth.

Went to the funeral of DP's uncle today. Pretty emotional stuff. And there was a celeb there! I tried not to stare.

Blackduck · 01/03/2013 06:17

So MrsS in his version you are an unreasonable emotional harridan from hell? (Just guessing) who deliberately misunderstands him - he is poor sensitive misunderstood soul?

Sorry about funnel Herbs - off to one myself tomorrow. No celebs I expect...

Blackduck · 01/03/2013 08:50

funnel?? fgs funeral!! Gah - must go and get proper glasses and stop pretending I don't actually NEED them!

Tudor day at school so hastily knocked together costume (largely from my wardrobe - no age related cracks please), worryingly my 'baggy shirt' vision doesn't actually look that baggy.......we did try dp's doctoral silly hat (which is the right shape/style) but ds felt costume was 'peasant' (thanks for that ds - these are clothes I still wear), where as hat was 'nobility'

motherinferior · 01/03/2013 09:11

Last half day of my contract. Walked through the park on my way to the station and saw a heron in flight. Nice metaphorSmile.

wilbur · 01/03/2013 10:03

Good luck on your last day MI - hope you have an extra nice bottle of Wine ready for tonight. Onwards and upwards, eh?

MrsS, what is it with these gaslighting people? Tis not just a romantic relationship phenomenon, I am finding more and more delusional "it's all your fault" people as I get older. I used to think, surely, surely, they must know they are massively in the wrong, but now I realise they really believe that they can get away with it. My sister is like this and I alternate between being seriously worried about her, totally furious at her, and completely destroyed by some of the things she has said and done. It's exhausting, but I see her very little so I manage. I can't imagine having to handle someone like that every day at work. Massive sympathies and I hope the mediator sees through AB's awfulness. Soon you will be free, at least!

Herbs, hope dh's family is ok after the funeral - look after the surviving siblings if you can as now is the time when people have a collapse and get sick after a shock like that.

BD - I like your ds's thinking, despite him being rude about your wardrobe. If it makes you feel better, I managed to put together a very good (if I say so myself) Mary from The Secret Garden costume for dd just from my own wardrobe, so I am a few hundred years more current than you, but still 100 years out of date...

wilbur · 01/03/2013 10:04

MI - ooh, silver lining, can we have coffee/lunch one day while you're back freelancing?

Blackduck · 01/03/2013 10:32

MI - enjoy the last day! And, yes, onwards and upwards.....

All Secondary school news here (I still have another year before that stress/joy). At least where I am it is pretty mcuh a choice of only two unless you pay....

motherinferior · 01/03/2013 10:38

I actually have LOADS of work for the next couple of weeks. Which will fund me. And have had one or two useful discussions...

Wilbur, lunch etc, deffo.

bigTillyMint · 01/03/2013 13:13

Envy at the lunch date. My lunches are spent presiding over my lovelies...

MI, pastures new!

It is now both freezing and stinky (filler and gloss) hereAngry

Outlaws coming this afternoon, but at least DH and I are out to friends for supper. And I fancy going to see Stoker tomorrow eveWink

motherinferior · 01/03/2013 14:26

Well, am out of there having consumed cava, received farewell card and also clutching (reasonable) book token plus 'beauty bag' full of cheap leftovers from the beauty cupboard.

motherinferior · 01/03/2013 14:26

Nivea Q10 anyone?

bigTillyMint · 01/03/2013 15:30

Onwards and upwards, MISmile

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/03/2013 18:36

You want to raid the beauty cupboard at the Harper's Bazaar office in New York, like I did, MI. I had stuff from ByTerry, MD Skincare, three bottles of Kenzo perfume, posh shampoo, a couple of Chanel lippies, a fab Dior mascara... shall I shut up now? Grin

Apparently I intimidate people by my confidence and assertiveness. ConfusedSad

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/03/2013 18:36

"people", obv.

oldqueencrepey · 01/03/2013 18:50

Mrs S, would be very tempted to respond to that assessment by saying, "Thanks. I take that as a compliment".

Rofl @ Nivea Q10
Hope you're still in a cava glow MI

Mrs S wtf? Is arse boss a toddler?

Spent a thwarted day ( work is so distracting)googling hotels in London. Have convinced my good friend to come on a jolly to the British museum/ wine soaked weekend in londres.
Managed to walk into marble topped hall table this morning and have THE biggest bruise ever on my hip. (Ow!) note to self : do not go to loo without specs onWink

motherinferior · 01/03/2013 19:53

I am also now the proud possessor of a number of hair products (why? WHY? Do I look like I use hair products?) and a supremely naff bottle of perfume called 'Daisy' which has plastic flowers on it. It really does. I shall donate it to a six year old Daisy of my acquaintance who will think it is terrific.

Cremolafoam · 01/03/2013 20:09

Is it that Marc Jacobs stuff that smells of gin?

motherinferior · 01/03/2013 20:10

Not ginny enough - that's the divine Penhaligons stuff - but a vaguely alcopop odour, yes.

Cremolafoam · 01/03/2013 20:22

Oh I luurve Zizonia ( penhaligons)

Teehee often pass thru jo Malone at lunchtime sometimes and if its busy no one sees me do a quick spray past with the pomegranate noir

Blackduck · 01/03/2013 22:22

Penhaligons juniper - I have an atomiser cos that's all I can afford - it is divine..... Father said 'do you want to go around smelling of gin'? Well actually - yes :)
Dinner guests increased by two. Chicken marinating in fridge, numerous curries to be cooked, all will be fine....

MrsSchadenfreude · 01/03/2013 22:28

Mmm, smelling of gin...

CointreauVersial · 02/03/2013 10:16

Morning, Crepeys.

I'm snatching a few minutes peace on the sofa before I have to get going on the housework. The hoover is back from the menders, so there are no more excuses for the disgraceful state of my carpets (is it bad that I have been quite enjoying its absence Blush ).

I have hordes of family descending tomorrow so need to get busy on food prep. Annoyingly, DS has a really late match tomorrow, in Barnes ffs, so I will be single-handed until about 2.30pm.

bigTillyMint · 02/03/2013 10:36

CV, don't envy you cleaning and cooking!

DH and I had a lovely night out and I'm off out for a late breakfast with a friends imminently, leaving DH to entertain his mum and dad while the children are out at trainingWink
