I buy the ground-up linseed from H&B; you can sprinkle it into things. Can't remember the brand (but it isn't cheap, so I am going to hotfoot it to my nearest branch while this 2 for 1 deal is still on).

Blardy snow sliding off the solar panels has ripped a stretch of guttering off the side of the house.Angry And the vacuum cleaner has gone wrong (I must be the first person to ever break a Miele). They have sent me a giant box to put it in, which is being collected by courier on Friday. I'm wondering if I can fit one of the DCs inside it instead.

But the good news is I have finally found the Valentines card I bought for DH weeks ago, which I had hidden away from prying eyes. Hidden rather too well.

Wishing you all hearts and flowers tomorrow, crepeys!

Blackduck · 14/02/2013 06:21

Kids driving you mad CV?

Yes, many cards/flowers/chocs to you all - if Mr Blackduck so much as bought me a card I'd be Hmm and starting a thread in Relationships Grin.
Only card I ever get is from my dad!

Just got to struggle through today - back seems better (I spent a lot of time yesterday thinking about how to reorient my office to avoid cold draft) - and then a break - crepeys I need it - shame its h-t too!!!

CointreauVersial · 14/02/2013 12:59

I had a card, and a very indulgent midweek Breakfast in Bed, served by my lovely DH!

wilbur · 14/02/2013 14:07

Go CV's dh - I'm impressed! I gave dh a card with a joke about ironing on the front and a biscuit. We've been married a while, can you tell? Actually, we agreed to save our V-day money (all £5 of it) for lunch on the slopes as we had been planning to sandwich it every day, but will now splurge on a tartiflette and some croques avec les enfants. Romance expressed through the medium of cheese.

Rofling at the linseed discussions. Have postponed their purchase until after skiing - too many zips involved in loo breaks to be safe!

Cremolafoam · 14/02/2013 14:31

Hello crepeys
Sorry I've been away for so long.
Life got a bit stressful there and I had to ween myself off a few hobbies like mumsnet.Hmm
Anyhoo how's everything with you lot?
Has st valentine been good to you??

bigTillyMint · 14/02/2013 14:58

No movement on the linseed front yet - I soaked them in a cup of water for an hour or so before crunchingthem last night - did I do it wrong?!

wilbur - I will be OD'ing on cheese next weekSmile

Nothing on the valentines front, but we don't usually "do" valentines, though I did order an online card for DH as a joke, but it hadn't arrived this morning... He did suggest we go to the chippy tonight. With the DCHmm

Blackduck · 14/02/2013 17:44

Oh Creme -hi - waves - missed you. How's things. No valentines here either as previous post probably indicated. Off out for a (non valentines day) curry with ds as I have finished for just over a week - hooray Grin

bigTillyMint · 14/02/2013 18:15

Hi Cremola!

Well, DH got in before me tonight, with a bunch of flarsSmile The card I ordered for him has not arrivedAngry

The linseed has workedWink!

Stropperella · 14/02/2013 18:30

Grin @ linseed reports.

I got presented with roses today - I was Shock as this sort of thing doesn't usually happen round here.

Hey, Cremola, how're you doing?

All those going off on winter sports jollies: have a great time!

herbaceous · 14/02/2013 19:16

Yes indeed, skiiers. Break a leg. Or not.

I'm off to a choir committee meeting in a second - what could be more romantic? Though we did both take a half day and have a slap-up lunch - at a gourmet vegetarian restaurant, which was super scrummy. Not entirely appropriate for my normal fasting Thursday, so that will have to wait until tomorrow.

Went out on Tuesday night, and didn't get in until ONE AM. Then felt utterly dreadful all day yesterday. Still feel grim today, so maybe it's more than a hangover. Croaky throat, feel sick, disturbing quantities of mucus at back of throat.

oldqueencrepey · 14/02/2013 19:47

Hi Y'all. Dh gave me a small white mouse dressed up as a rabbit (in a grey knitted costume) which was .... weird unexpected.
Herbs, I hope i'm wrong but my horrible illness began with feeling sick and croaky. That was on Monday. Now I am completely laid low and had to take to my bed this afternoon which is NOT LIKE ME, I have the mother of all colds and various other unpleasant symptoms.
A particularly low point was yesterday when I went to a cafe which I frequent and the lovely manageress took pity on me, saying she'd make me a special brazilian cold cure. This turned out to be hot water, lemon, honey, ginger (all good so far!), fresh red chilli and garlic (YUK YUK YUK). If I felt il before I felt a lot worse after tasting that I can tell you.

Good evening laydees
What's all this a bout linseeds?
All pretty good here finally. DH had a bit if a wobble and I am now lined up for a hysterectomy - the joy!
Have been suffering for years. Probably will need to join one if them hot and sweaty threads imminently.Shock

What news ici?

Cremolafoam · 14/02/2013 21:08

OQ I have that unbelievable cold as well. Feel like I'm lugging round about 60 extra kilos and its making me weep randomly as well /you?

oldqueencrepey · 14/02/2013 21:12

yes, yes weepy eyes! And endless off the Richter scale sneezing!
I'm very good company...

OP posts:
Cremolafoam · 14/02/2013 21:19

Yes the sneezing is operatic according to dh Grin
Had a coughing fit mid 'romantic'pizza in restaurant earlier - had to take myself off as people were staringBlush
Them we went to Poundland to get a £1 'most unusual' gift each
( we're so clarssy)

Blackduck · 15/02/2013 07:41

I wish I could blame how I feel this am on a cold, but am pretty sure it was the copious amounts of wine followed by a bottle of champers (who thought that was a good idea?) that is responsible....
OQC - interesting present, do you like mice, or rabbits?
Cremo- so what did you get??

MrsS - any news???

Blackduck · 15/02/2013 07:42

BTW Herbs, fasted Wednesday knowing Thursday was curry night in case you are wondering!

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/02/2013 07:44

No news. Am applying for another job today. Grin

Blackduck · 15/02/2013 07:47

Onwards and upwards ;)

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/02/2013 07:52

I've no idea! They are a law unto themselves. They interviewed two, at most three - you would think they could have made a decision by now!
