I'd like an opion it sounds like an onion laced with opiates Grin no I'm a strane case but I don't take the piss. I was okay about it until recently I had to give a talk and though,oh oky I can wear that smart dress, or that suit. On the day of the talk I could not find anything to fit me. I think I eat too late at night, and I think I am doing the wrong kind of exercise, but yeah it's just made me feel quite down recently I have suddenly ballooned from healthy weight to really rather chunky. don't know what to do Confused

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 02:42

Are you ganging up on me??, look. What you need to do is finds a shape/size/colour that suits you. Then you buy in th sale or eBay. And a good hair cur and you're sorted .

Grin at ganging up. good underwear helps

though I seem to have outgrown my spanx tights!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 02:46

Ok, first you need to buy clothes that fit you so you are not confronted with that awful feeling everyday. Thats just the start of a bad cycle.

Once you feel better about how you look you can break the late night eating thing. I broke it with my first pregnancy and I havent lost weight due to it, but I havent gained.

If your iron was low you probably felt lethargic which made you eat more? Im on iron too so I know what the lethargy is like!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 02:47

Ganging up? Eh?

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:47

hi wannabe no I was way too small tbh so I guess am not clinically obese now but I'd have a BMI of over 25 easily so 'overweight' at the rate I have gained weight I'm quite depressed about it. The offending jeans range from 'size 24" waist' to standard size 12s and none of them come close to fitting me. I'm probably a large 14, maybe a tad more. Unfortunately my favourite winter coat is a size 8 Hmm I can't really get my arms into it

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 02:49

If you are serious. Wannabe speaks the truth.

OP posts:
cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:49

yeah I felt so exhausted all the time. I have been known to scoff a lot when feeling miserable, not unhealthy stuff but lots of things like nuts, I had the most crazy food cravings when my iron was low. I feel better in myself now, but now I don't know what to do - what is a reasonable 'last time to eat at night' hour?

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 02:50

I know what suits me in day to day I think. I just wasnt sure about wedding dresses because they are a bit full on. And then I thought of thst style. I tried a dress on like that before and it was nice.

But its still a wedding dress so I wasnt sure!

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:50

ok I'm at least a 14..

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:50

14 16

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:50

aaaaaaaaaaaaaagh

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 02:51

Cafectico. You are an average size. In all seriousness was this a rapid weight gain?

OP posts:
cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:52

wannabe I love the style of dress if I ever get married (ho hum) I'd go for one with that kind of top definitely. Isn't there a test for whether cream or white suits you better?
I'd definitely go with an ivory version if you can, I think it looks nicer. but pretty pretty style

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:53

yes I don't mean to offend anyone with my assertion I am huge, I am not huge, but I have gained weight reeeally quickly

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:54

so it caught me off guard because one day things fit me, the next I can't even get one leg into my jeans

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 02:54

Gotta say, if I was a 14 I would be pleased as punch. But as you were an 8 I can see why you feel bad.

Thing is, a size 14 is not hard to dress. And its not plus size til you are over a 16/18.

Depends on your bedtime. About 4 hours before bed I think I read.

Up your water intake too. It works wonders.

I should really be losing weight. But I just had DD2. After xmas I am starting.

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 02:56

Right. My initial post was to give blunt advice. But i think it's moved on. Wanna get the dress,I never thought I'd have a wedding gown.....but after I'd tried it on.. It was a no brainer. And I got the dress. Accessories are key. Cafectico get the bigger jeans

OP posts:
cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:57

I was more like a 6, so to be a 16 is a shock to the system. I guess it's not hard to dress, it's only hard when nothing comes close to fitting. I guess therefore some bigger jeans would look better than my current mishmash of stretch. Yeah I should drink more water. I always eat just before bed, I live quite chaotically in terms of hours etc. Must be stricter with myself!

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:57

Grin thank you!!!

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 02:59

Sorry OP...we hijacked Blush

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 03:00

That's a big jump6 to 16.

OP posts:
JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 03:00

I don't mind.! That's a huge jump in weight

OP posts:
wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 03:03

It is huge. I have always been a steady gainer.

Though my friend did balloon quite a bit after an event in her life. So its not impossible.

What is your diet like? And be honest with yourself, denial wont help.

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 03:06

Not sure if you're asking me?
