Buy the bigger jeans. Its heart breaking, but buy them and then work on the weight.

I once went to buy new jeans. I had gone up two sizes and the shock of it kicked me into action and I lost 2 stone in 3 months.

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:19

I HAVE gained like 5 stone in a year Hmm and 8kg since September, when the jeans last almost fitted (though they were a pain to do up, and one pair of j brands split at the inner thighs...)

I don't want to buuuy theeeem

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:21

I think you may be right though, thank you, but I will have gone up many sizes! yikes

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 02:21

CAfetico 5 stone in a year?

5 stone in a year?

Have you seen your GP? I have only ever put on a stone in a year and that was literally eating all day and doing no exercise. If its that much there could be an underlying condition.

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:26

yeah, I was tiny tiny tiny, so I had to gain weight.. but I now haven't stopped... it's probably more like 6 stone Blush

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 02:26

I agree with wannabe

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 02:27

Yep, always buy clothes that fit. Size labels are just numbers. It took me a few years to work that out though. I was in denial for most of my teens!

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 02:27

Not sure whether to believe you.... But.. Have you had your thyroid checked

OP posts:
cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:28

I do loads of exercise, I'm not properly obese or anything it's all relative but I'm really quite chubby now and feel really heavy and dumpy, it's happened very quickly. I think I was 'just right' for a while, back in March/April/May, but since then - eeek. I don't really eat unhealthily. I wondered if my thyroid might be a problem but never go to the GP

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 02:28

WannaBe size is the secret, and all the bloody shops have different sizes nowadays

OP posts:
wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 02:29

Have you any other health worries?

Go to your GP. They will want to test your thyroid as a first measure. Im not sure of what else but I know there are other things.

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:29

sorry x-posts. I think I should get it checked. I am scared of buying a bigger size because it confirms I am now supersized. ''size labels are just numbers'' good advice. Maybe I could cut the labels out Grin

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 02:30

My hangover looms.. How old are youCafe? And if you're not serious let me know so I can do the school run!!

OP posts:
wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 02:31

I stick to new look really. I cant afford anywhere else. But it is frustrating the way all the sizes differ.

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 02:32

What is your size? Height? Age? Have you done a BMI thingy

OP posts:
cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:32

I did have really ridiculous bleeding that wouldn't stop for months and months (TMI?) so I went to the GP but they never checked thyroid, despite being very bradycardic and having really low bp- was given iron tabs

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 02:34

They are though. So what if the numbers say you are bigger than you would like? Clothes are meant to make you feel good when you are wearing them, not when you are looking at the label.

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:34

oh I am serious but go forth and school run! thank you for your late night wisdom Smile I will have to get over the size....I knew it had got bad when I sized up in my very very stretchy workout trousers and now they are too tight and dig in painfully! not a good look

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 21/12/2012 02:35

Wanna be you need to find what suits and spend the extra. New look don't have good stuff in your size. Try Evans and John Lewis.

cafecito · 21/12/2012 02:38

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 02:38

Theres no way! Way outta my budget! I havent bought clothes since July and now we are saving for this wedding after DP losing his job etc. The inspire range does me. There are some nice dresses.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 21/12/2012 02:41

Im here! I will regret it in the morning when DP is dragging me round asda, but the baby has my body clock all messed up. Shes sleeping soundly now though! While I am wide awake!

Do you mind me asking what size you were and what size you think you are now?
