Eating healthily, drinking lots of water, walking and last night was in bed by 8.30. Not feeling any better though...

soyabean · 25/04/2006 08:32

Ooh bed at 830 that would be nice. I was forced to stay up till 11 for ER...But its my only real TV addiction.

Callmemadam · 25/04/2006 22:36

Soyabean, me too! I now officially weigh 3K more than I did before I bought digital scales in the January sales (sigh).

Come on everyone, more True Confessions and chat or WWW will return and wonder where the motivation has gone! And boy do I need it, as I am not making any progress at all on looking younger....(see scales comment above Blush

soyabean · 26/04/2006 08:20

No I def do not look younger. Was wandering in shops at lunchtime yesterday and tried on some trousers, felt so depressed looking at myslef in mirror... My eye bags are awful and I feel I have fallen into middle age in the last couple of years.
Having said that I was full of the joys of spring as I cycled into work this morning; its a beautiful day in London.

yoyo · 26/04/2006 08:31

I haven't lost a pound either. I haven't changed my eating habits greatly though as I generally eat healthily. Obviously my balance of calorific intake:calorific expenditure is equal. So I need smaller portions and more exercise.

Does anyone find that in the post-ovulation phase of their cycle their energy is at an all-time low? For two weeks every month I have so little energy - I am waiting to see female Doc to discuss.

suzywong · 26/04/2006 08:37

that's an interesting theory yo you
I am a haggard looking lard arse as have been eating no veg and too much chinese BBQ pork and crackers. Out tonight to local Italian where I will be obliged to have the most delicious lasagne on earth, and wine.

Back on the wagon on Thurdsay, honest

winnie · 26/04/2006 10:04

I have got up every morning this week and exercised and it seems (so far - early days) that by doing it first thing my motivation is increased to stay on the straight and narrow eating wise. Having started Slimming World this week I have realsied how reliant I have been on "healthy" quick foods like dried fuit and smoothies which can be quite calorific.

yoyo, to feel that low in energy for two weeks a month doesn't sound right and I hope you get to see someone soon.

Did I mention ? (I know I did Grin ) that on Sat my friend asked me if I was taking vitamins because my skin was glowing and looked so healthy. That comment has definitely kept me going all week :)

On average I am eating 7 portions of fruit/veg a day, drinking 1.5 litres of water, cleasing, moisturising x 2 daily and using sunscreen & handcream daily. Lots of good habits have been formed by this thread. Now to succeed at breaking the really bad habit of using food as an emotional tool... 4 days in and going well :)

Thanks everyone :)

moondog · 26/04/2006 14:24

I've been to the gym today and walked the 2k home.
Still loving going out to eat every day at least once. It is soooo tedious cleaning up after little kids have eaten isn't it??

Going to a party tonight though. The tables will be heaving with divine Turkish food and shitloads of booze.
Everyone will get wrecked, smoke loads of fags and dance the night away to wild Turkish and Kurdish music.
Hope that I will behave. Grin

God,Turks so civilised and lovely.Went to indoor playcentre (very unme, but pissing it down so needs must)yesterday.
Lovely headscarfed lady appeared out of nowhere and went into the junglegym thing with them for about 30 mins. whilst charming youth bought me a cup of tea,and then continued to fill my glass at regular intervals.

Howzabout that for service???? Grin

winnie · 26/04/2006 20:32

Moondog, it sounds as if you are having a good time. Good for you keeping the exercise up.

Hope you are enjoying the party and not being virtuous Shock Wink

Hello everyone, what week are we on then? This is all on one long thread and my poxy dial up connection is struggling - I dunno, I go off for a few weeks and look what happens!

Anyway, so, please be impressed. I have had NO ALCOHOL since the day after Easter Sunday so that's 14 days and I have to say, the weight is dropping off me. So that's me, I'm going to do my best not to drink until Dh's birthday, when we're going away for 2 nights, so that's the 8th and 9th of July. I havwe got used to it now and feel fantastic, I have to say. I am also:

Drinking lots of water, maybe not quite 2 litres a day but probably not far off
Taking my make up off EVERY night, I've found that if I do it while the children are in the bath I will do it
Eating lots of fruit and veg but also too many lunches in restaurants as I've just gone back to work and I've been asked out to lunch twice. I ordered salmon once and asked for the lemon and butter sauce on the side but they ignored me so I ate it anyway but the other time I ate chicken with skin and ciabatta and chips.
Next week I am going to take in a bowl of fruit so I avoid the vending machine, which is far too near my desk for my liking. So far last week I managed a packet of Minstrels AND a Bounty, not good.
And I need to start walking, definitely. I'm toying with getting up at 6am and going for a local half hour stroll, may give it a go next week, I just don't seem to be getting lunch hours, let alone time to get flat shoes on and walk.
DH says I look much better and younger. Shall I start a new thread or are we all ok here?

beetroot · 30/04/2006 19:48

davina is fantastic if you have half an hour to spare

yoyo · 30/04/2006 19:53

WWW - nice to have you back and to hear things are going so well! I think a new thread would help motivate us all. Perhaps throw in a few more suggestions?

WWWontSlagOffAnyone · 30/04/2006 20:08
