I did another 2k last night - feeling very smug. Woke up actually feeling hungry which is always a good sign. Halved my brekkie to one slice of toast. Needs must.

Still ill. Sad
Never drinking again. Ever
Am bracing myself for visit en famille to a creepily monikered 'petting zoo'.
Wish me luck

yoyo · 14/04/2006 10:10

God Moondog - the hangover from hell. Perhaps sticking to wine would be a good idea?! Hope you recover soon - perhaps stroking the wovely ickle bunnies will do the trick.

You've got it good - I'm meeting my mother in Llanelli to buy children's clothes. Truly awful!

Moondog · 14/04/2006 10:12

Grim yoyo.
Grim

I buy all my kids' clothes online or in 2nd hand shops.
I can't cope with shopping.

moonshine · 14/04/2006 10:22

Omg Moondog - just goes to show that being an old soak (and I speak of myself of course) can't be all bad as I don't really get major hangovers.

I need to find something to occupy us as the arguing between everyone has already started but the weather is s**t here and hate the thought of queuing up for hours with everyone else trying to get into a 'holiday attraction you don't really want to visit, nada nada nada....

I shall try and resist (mostly) the chocolate mountain here and at least do some exercise. I am alos currently sitting here with dye in my hair to get rid of the grey bits.

Monkeytrousers - you are starting to really go for it - how much weight are you trying to lose, if you don't mind me asking?

monkeytrousers · 14/04/2006 10:39

I want to get back to my pre-preggers weight of 9 stone. I'm ten and a half now. I have to get a move on before it begins to get warm Moonshine, I bought all my summer clothes a size too small! Eek!

OP posts:
monkeytrousers · 14/04/2006 10:40

Mooney, that is surely the mother of all hangovers. Are you sure you weren't spiked?

OP posts:
moonshine · 14/04/2006 11:17

MT - I am trying to lose about the same (although not to be so light!). I know this isn't specifically a dieting thread but if I don't lose at least 9 pounds I will have to wear the same one outfit forever as I refuse to buy bigger clothes again (got rid of them all last November) and will therefore feel middle-aged and frumpy.

monkeytrousers · 14/04/2006 12:11

That's exactly how I feel. I've been wearing the same pair of jeans for ages and I'm so sick of them.

OP posts:
TaiTai · 14/04/2006 13:57

ditto about wearing the same pair of jeans for ages. my Spring Resolution is to get into my pre-pregnancy jeans by the end of May. that means going down about one-and-a-half dress sizes but I will damn well do it. i hope the running i've started doing will have an effect - i've heard it's great for inch loss - and i'm going to step up my regime next week.

Callmemadam · 16/04/2006 21:21

Has this gone all quiet or have I lost everyone again? HELLO???? I Have Sinned and eaten chocolate and drunk wine and now will forswear the same for ever!!! How about that? (Well, maybe for a bit...)

winnie · 16/04/2006 21:51

Callmemadam, I too have sinned... I've had vodka and chocolate and very late nights but tomorrow is the start of another week :)

yoyo · 16/04/2006 23:03

A new week indeed! I have been swimming today but have shared a bottle of wine with DH and had a tiny bit of chocolate. School starts this week so back to my walking (thankfully). I have to up my game ladies as when I was staying with my parents they had a huge, very truthful mirror and I did not like what I saw. I go on holiday in 12 weeks and have to look and feel much better than I do now.
Please nag ad nauseam.

Blackduck · 17/04/2006 07:37

Forgive me WWW for I have sinned - too much of all the bad stuff (choclate/wine) and not enough of the good stuff (water and nice food...) Will start again in earnest on Tuesday...
Thou have done loads in the garden so counting that as my exercise...

winnie · 17/04/2006 09:02

yoyo, ths weekend I had your experience of a very truthful mirror and it has been a revelation. Even though I know what the scales say I truly have been lying to myself about the shape I am in :(

Also, like you,I am on the count down to a holiday and I don't want to look/feel like this by then.

Blackduck, gardening definitely counts as exercise imho

goodluck everyone :)

suzywong · 17/04/2006 09:33

hello everyone, how was easter temptation?

Well I did get in to my size 10 jeans after all and went outlet shopping accordingly. However by 3 in the afternoon I look like complete lardy mutton in them. More water, more pilates, more cycling less bloat.

Plus living without a dishwasher for over 18 months has ruined my hands, and I look 55 from fingertips to mid forearm. Any antidotes?

Good Luck to you

Blackduck · 17/04/2006 10:56

SW - I could sandpaper walls with my fingers Grin....and dry hands isn't in it......no ideas thou'

yoyo · 17/04/2006 11:17

Okay, off to a good start. Bodybrushing, moisturiser, contact lenses in (first time in two months), bit of make-up on (no longer an eyeliner virgin), walk and water. DH asked where I was going so at least he noticed (although a compliment would have been nice).
I am going to down another glass of water and then am off to do some shopping. Will aim to take the children swimming later.

SW - I use foot exfoliator on my hands then loads of Clarins hand cream and wear cotton gloves to bed. It does work but isn't a quick fix. Marigolds would no doubt help though!

Winnie - I think we are experiencing similar things at the moment. The mirror shocked me - my naked self looks appalling. Our holidays this year have cost us a lot and I am determined to look my best. I want to buy new clothes that flatter and not "hide" me so I need to make a concrted effort. How long before you get away?

suzywong · 17/04/2006 12:05

thanks for the hand tips. The backs of them are papery rather than rough, Next stop liver spots i suppose

Hey, what do you reckon to eyelash tinting?

winnie · 17/04/2006 14:43

yoyo, our holiday is 17 weeks away. It seems like an age but I know it will fly by. Am desperate for some great clothes that reflect me. I am sick of wearing things just because they fit! Also, the way things are looking there is a reconciliation on the cards between husband and me and the state I've become is weighing heavy on my mind as well as my hips!

yoyo · 17/04/2006 14:56

Winnie - hope it all works out with your husband. I think your hips will be the last thing on your mind if things go as you expect. Seventeen weeks will certainly fly past but it is plenty of time to improve how you look and feel (I hope so since I want to do it in 12!). I went to Marks this morning to get some clothes to exercise in - I looked at myself, put the clothes back and went to Tesco and bought 2 exercise DVDs instead. Wish DH would be more supportive as he just said "what will they do then?". More incentive for me to prove him wrong.
Going out to play with the children now which I am sure counts as exercise (a ball will be involved).
Salmon and salad for tea but will I resist alcohol whilst chortling at Peter Kay later in the evening? Perhaps I will tape it and watch it next weekend.

soyabean · 18/04/2006 13:18

OK, I'm here, I'm going to do this properly now! And you are all my witnesses.

Have ridden bike to work and will go swimming once if not twice per week, plus some exercises in the morning. On food, no chocolate and only a very smnall portion of pudding if eating with others. No secret food stashes or choca and biscuits at work.

Sunscreen, water, alcohol alll OK I think.

moonshine · 18/04/2006 16:31

Have most of you drowned in a vat of chocolate/alcohol then? Naturally, having resolved to lose weight first and foremost I spent most of the holidays in the kitchen and food cupboards consuming my body weight in anything, so I now have even more weight to lose Blush.

I'm with you Soyabean - as God is my witness, I shall do it from today.

I have had no chocolate, lots of fruit and water and I shall have salmon tonight. I've done some walking and gardening and shall try and do some exercise tonight. And I shall studiously ignore the rest of the Panettone calling my name (it is you know).

Callmemadam · 18/04/2006 23:08

Well, no wine tonight, but had stress headache all day so can't really claim it was willpower alone. On the sinning side, had 3 skinny cappucinos, 1 hummus flatbread wrap in Starbucks, at least 3 choc eggs stolen from my 3 yr old Blush and 1 date slice in Hoopers this pm. Oh dear...

winnie · 19/04/2006 07:48

Second day of forcing myself out of bed earlier than usual and doing some exercise!

Water intake is good.

Food intake yesterday was ok too
