Cheese wine and bread here.Great failings.
Not indulging in any tonight although dh has nearly finished a bottle of white Burgundy all on his own already. Shock
I've told him he'll turn into a fat bastard again. (Esp. as has v v v v special birthday meal planned for him tomorrow which will feature margaritas, prawns, fresh Lleyncrabs, chocolate nad almond cake and Champagne.)

Caribbeanqueen · 10/04/2006 18:34

winnie - I'm here and reporting for duty. Last week went past without me even realising it and today's new resolutions lasted until lunchtime. Huge bar of chocolate in the fridge, which I just can't ignore. Also had a few drinks at the weekend.

I'm very tired at the moment, which means I usually snack more. Haven't been to bed at 10.30 for about 10 years!

TaiTai · 10/04/2006 18:36

ooh moondog, can I come to your husband's birthday meal?

moondog · 10/04/2006 18:39

If you like TT.
He'd be glad to see a woman who isn't wearing a headscarf,I'm sure.

Caribbeanqueen · 10/04/2006 18:42

moondog, what was the name of that book about relationships with food? I don't want to have to trawl through the old threads to find it.

moondog · 10/04/2006 18:44

William Leith 'The Hungry Years'
Highly recommended. Light read though, nothing too heavy.

Caribbeanqueen · 10/04/2006 19:10

Thanks!

monkeytrousers · 10/04/2006 19:42

Mooney, you sound positively lurved up! I'm off to lift my weights and do 100 sit ups.

MT,just hugely relieved that he is here to deal with recalcitrant toddler.
I went to bed (afternoon) for about 4 hours yesterday with the papers.
It was great.

soyabean · 10/04/2006 19:52

Winnie I am here but feel like an imposter still. Pretty useless on all fronts but this thread HAS reminded me what I shoould be doing. I went swimming at the w/e and am about to go again. Have been trying to do a few exercises in the mornings. Small steps, and definitely not feeling younger. In fact took passport pcs yesterday and almost felt like crying...A couple of huge deep wrinkles seem to be worse than ever before Sad

soyabean · 10/04/2006 19:52

pics not pcs

TaiTai · 10/04/2006 20:57

Mooney, thank you for the invitation but, alas, I am currently working a Hilda Ogden look and therefore will not be sans headscarf.

moonshine · 11/04/2006 11:08

Sorry to hear about your mum Callmemadam. My dh has had a big health scare in the past week and has to go for an ECG tomorrow. Ironically it has sparked a total health freakout on his part and I am being sucked in....so silver linings and all that crap which may be the saviour of us all.

Hasn't stopped us indulging in a couple of glasses of red in the evenings though Shock. But since yesterday I have had Spring 'fever', have cleaned the house frenetically yesterday (most rare for me) and am contemplating buying a rebounder today.

Moondog - but did your dh comment on your efforts over the last 5 weeks or is he just basking in his own glow?

moondog · 11/04/2006 12:48

MS,he pronounced me 'very shapely' and proceeded to rip my clothes off with his teeth, before throwing me onto the marital bed and ravishing me so.....I'm happy.
Grin

Blackduck · 11/04/2006 12:50

MD - TMI Grin

moondog · 11/04/2006 12:54
Grin I kept it rather tasteful I thought.....
yoyo · 11/04/2006 12:54

MD - lucky you!

The pair of you will be able to do the gym together now - you could be like Ken and Barbie (she of the boob job) in mine. Is he going to see Leeza too?

moondog · 11/04/2006 12:57

Oh God yoyo, the K&B story made me laugh!
Well,I did suggest a gym session together but he knows I will shame him with my.
We did go swimming avec enfants on Sunday though, and I ran first, waving at them through the plate glass (and worrying that he wasn't keeping a close enough eye on them)

moondog · 11/04/2006 12:58

No Leeza for him. I can't do woth men who are too vain.Very unsexy.

suzywong · 11/04/2006 13:02

Glad you're getting your oats at last MD

NB. In a frenzy of euphoria at having the house to myself ( no ML shuffling around or frying mackerel as well as dh and the kids out) I thought I'd make up for previous slackness and do a vigourous 1 hour work out. The 40 lunges I did buggered my quads and left me unable to do anything but teeter stiffly for 2 days. So the key is clearly - REGULAR exercise rather than binging.

On the diet front I have been very good about junk and late night carbs but am rabidly menstrual so need my wine and chocolate.

Good Luck To You

monkeytrousers · 11/04/2006 15:18

I went into H&M today for the first time in ages to try on a pair of summer trousers and nearly died when I saw myself in the changing mirrors. I left ready to throw myself in the Tyne, but the thought of another 'whale in the river' story stopped me.

yoyo · 11/04/2006 17:28

I am going back to stay with my folks tomorrow with the children whilst DH works away for a few days. I have treated myself to some Clinique stuff (excellent free gift offer) and have booked a full-body massage on return. I am also about to book some individual pilates lessons which are hugely expensive but hopefully worth it.

Hopefully baring my body for the massage will shame me into action.

motherinferior · 11/04/2006 17:31

I've been much too wiped to swim, not sure why; and am gearing up for a weekend of booze and chocolate as we're off for Easter. But at the moment am moderately, if only moderately, virtuous.

monkeytrousers · 11/04/2006 21:56

I'm getting back on the treadmill tomorrow..

OP posts:
moonshine · 11/04/2006 22:45

lol at Moondog - I've never read those 'Black Lace' novels (do they still churn them out?) but I feel that I have had a taste of one now thanks to you.

Am beginning to panic slightly at the thought of warmer weather and having to go out sans coat, so I bought a rebounder today (although it is very much still in its box). Small steps...

Monkeytrousers - I always find that H&M make their clothes (and changing rooms!) at least one size smaller than other stores - puts me off trying on anything there. Please say I'm not the only one to think this!
