hello everyone

I am a Pilates convert, in size ten jeans properly, am eating well and have a trip to Wagamamammamamas which has just opened in Perth tonight.

However I am in a very bad mood and everything dh does is irritating me, particularly breathing

Good Luck To You

moondog · 23/04/2006 11:38

lol

suzywong · 23/04/2006 14:48

Bad mood has vanished thanks to caring dh
Wagamamamamams in Camden is Better. I think the prawn dumplings - number 102 - were frozen. Shock.

motherinferior · 23/04/2006 18:58

Hangover has subsided thanks to vast amounts of food.

As far as I can remember a good time was had by all Blush

monkeytrousers · 23/04/2006 21:03

moondog · 23/04/2006 22:09

MT,why oh why are you buying that shit??? Sad
You are too smart to be sucked into this tripe.
Why would anyone choose aweird powdered drink over a proper meal???

Blackduck · 24/04/2006 07:17

MI - i spent most of yesterday on the sofa with ds watching back to back episodes of Charlie and Lola, and potty training said ds (doing pretty well actually) nursing a kind of handover (I say it was because I was tired before I even went out to a friends birthday, so by the time I got back at midnight and ds got me up at 7.00 I was knackered...) - so you have my sympathy...... -
I am going to bed VERY early tonight......

winnie · 24/04/2006 09:11

good day yesterday. I got the children out for a 3.2 mile walk Shock I also started Slimming World and I drank loads of water, cleansed, moisturised etc, etc ... Felt really positive.
Today I got up early again to do some exercise.
Find it easier to do first thing in the morning :)
Good luck everyone.
Moonshine, your weightloss is an inspiration. Well done you. Thank yo for sharing :)

moonshine · 24/04/2006 09:36

Good luck Winnie this week (and everyone else of course). When that bingeing feeling strikes, feel free to come and shout, cry and vent here to help subdue it! I am not a good example atm but am hoping to stay (mainly) on the virtuous path now.

I actually feel about 25 years younger - but not for a good reason. I am having a bad attack of acne on my chin and feel like a spotty teenager (and it's not even my totm). I'm sure an alternative health expert might be able to enlighten me as to why??

I actually quite like the Vanilla slimfast and lost most of my weight with a diet that replaced meals for more than 6 months .

moondog · 24/04/2006 15:14

moonshine, but did you keep it off???
I feel that meal replacements creat a 'food is bad and to be feared' culture.
Also, you could get a lot of the (right) sort of food for the same amount of calories.
I'm not dieting, but as am example,a huge bowl of noodles and greens would come in at about 500 cals.

moonshine · 24/04/2006 16:32

MD - can't deny that I have put nearly 2 stones back on, but not the other 6! Putting weight back on is very common on all diets though (very apparent if you ever read any dieting thread or conversation on here). My problem goes back to when I was 6/7 so I have nearly a whole lifetime of eating 'issues' and disorders to overcome. I certainly wouldn't recommend this diet to everyone but think it has its place for people who have huge food 'issues'. I think that a lot of overweight people are absolute experts on how to lose weight sensibly - we've read all the books and magazine articles, listened to all the advice, tried all the diets (although I am actually not a fan of all these different fad diets), have lists of a thousand reasons why you want to and should lose weight. But there are mental hurdles to overcome that are far bigger than just being a lazy ass and these diets that help you take a break from food and lose weight relatively quickly helped me to confront, if not overcome some of them (yet). And I 've got to say, I never had as much energy and zest for life, and clearer glowing skin, than when I was doing the Lighterlife diet.

Don't think I've explained myself too well there, but suffice to say it was the best thing I ever did. Mind you, size 24 or 12, I still stress the same amount about my lard arse - how stupid is that?

moondog · 24/04/2006 16:34

interestingn point about 'taking a break from food'. you explain youself very well actuaslly.
what does ll involve then?

moonshine · 24/04/2006 16:41

On LL you 3 meal replacements shakes or bars a day. You have to be at least 3 stones overweight and go to a counselling/group session every week. The sessions were sometimes quite good but mostly because of the mix of people, I think. My LL leader was barking and got sacked in the end, which I think didn't help me in the maintenance stage (8 weeks of reintroducing food slowly and discovering what your 'triggers' are) Was very surprised that all sorts do it, including doctors, nurses, solicitors, council workers, sahms etc.

Actually not having to make food decisions and total abstension is far far easier than trying to eat sensibly and make the right choices.

How's Turkey btw? How long are you there for this time?

moondog · 24/04/2006 17:05

Thanks for the explanation. Smile
Turkey is great thanks. I'm here for a month.
Very relaxing, got my sewing, lots of books,MN Blushacar and trips to the gym.

Food is fantastic.

moondog · 24/04/2006 17:06

Oh,and my children and dh of course!
Mortified that i didn't mention them first!

moonshine · 24/04/2006 17:28

Grin. I know where you're coming from.

moonshine · 24/04/2006 17:29

[such a horrible expression though - sorry!].

soyabean · 24/04/2006 19:24

I have been eating so well and reasonable quanities for a week but apparently am 1 lb heavier which was not the plan Sad. Havent been doing too well on the early nights, and my eyes are baggy and orrible

soyabean · 24/04/2006 19:27

And have been swimming twice and cycled to work

moondog · 24/04/2006 20:09

That's a bugger soya!
Blame the scales...

soyabean · 24/04/2006 21:19

yes I am wondreing if they are a bit dodgy as I fluctuae wildly day to day. How much would you all say was normal from one day to next?
Btw moondog are you named after the ancient american singer with the long beard?

winnie · 25/04/2006 07:46

Soyabean, if you know you have been doing all the right things I would try (easier said than done, I know)to continue doing what you are doing. Maybe weigh on scales somewhere else (at parents, in Boots?) and weigh again on same scales next week. You will then get a real idea of what is going on and can reassess things more clearly. Good luck and well done all that exercise is good for you whatever is happening with your weight :)

Yesterday was a really good day for me and despite another run in with dd I didn't run to the cupboards! Got up early again this morning for more exercise :)

soyabean · 25/04/2006 08:17

yes Winnie I think a weekly weigh in at the chemist is the best idea. Never done it tho, feels embarrassing!
I know the exercise is good and I enjoy it, and also know that this middle age spread (for that is what it is) is hard to shift Sad.
