and can't spell...abstanence....??

motherinferior · 09/04/2006 13:29

Abstinence. You're getting it mixed up with penance. Rightly so, I reckon.

I'll join you. We are so, so boring, aren't we.

Blackduck · 09/04/2006 13:31

Boring yes, but it's necessary I reckon if the inside of my head is anything to go by Grin

motherinferior · 09/04/2006 13:32

I can't work out if it's age alone, or just age-related. I will sadly confess that drink-free mornings are surprisingly sprightly.

suzywong · 09/04/2006 13:35

hello everyone

well my size 10 jeans were infact the same dimensions as my old size 12s so don't know if that serves me right for shopping at the equivalent of Asda or whether or not it was a lesson in vanity.

Hey, dh did mention the other day that he wasn't sure where I was going on my bike rides and whether or not I was meeting someone. Hahahahahahahaha. There is only one other man for me. My second husband Johnny Depp and he's playing pretty hard to get these days. The tease.

winnie · 09/04/2006 14:02

Hi everyone... not a great weekend (wine; chocolate & cheesecake) BUT as of tomorrow I will amaze even myself with my good behaviour :)

winnie · 09/04/2006 14:03

MI, you are obviously putting far too much suncream on. You only need a little and although it is scary initially it is quickly absorbed into the skin.

Blackduck · 09/04/2006 14:35

MI age and child related I reckon....I could probably cope if I didn't have to get up at 6.00 as well....! Never was one for lie ins but the choice would be nice!!

monkeytrousers · 09/04/2006 15:18

Oop's, had a veggie BLT this morning. Just getting it out of my system for tomorrow

Hi Blackduck, thanks for your moral support - yep, the three friends I met don't have kids but want them. 'Reunion' actually went really well, I had a great time, they were all very nice and I was glad I went. Mind you, I was wearing my "magic knickers" for a bit of support, so to speak.

SuzyWong, don't you just hate the fact that sizes vary so much from store to store, and even from style to style in the same label? btw, I think you'll find that Johnny Depp is betrothed to me. I know an actress who worked with him on a TV programme; apparently he was "a peach".

Callmemadam · 09/04/2006 23:17

Hi all, just made it from the other thread! Am really really really going to try and not have any wine until Thursday night so lots of encouragement, please! Have eaten quite a bit of chocolate over the w/e which is unusual for me but I do have PMT so is that an excuse? Also (don't wish to hijack or go into too many details) but my beloved mother seems to be giving up after a terribly drawn out time of failing health and I seem to ricochet between thinking I must look after my body for the children's sake esp child No 4, who's 3, and thinking I just can't cope with anything else to worry about. Pathetic really, as materially I have sod all to worry about generally.Anyway (brightens up) the thing I love about this thread is feeling that there is a companionable group of us all thinking 'sod it, tomorrow's another day'Wink

TaiTai · 09/04/2006 23:42

Callme, I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I think one thing you can do to honour her memory is to take good care of yourself. Don't put yourself on any strict regime now - you don't need the stres of that - but 'treat' yourself to good food like fresh fruit and smoothies etc. Chocolate may be an emotional treat but it's not a phyical one. You need and deserve a healthy diet at the moment to keep your energy levels up. Don't worry about weight, just being more healthy in your lifestyle. Easier said than done though, I'm still working on this!!

sorry for posting twice Blush, there was an internet error so I couldn't see whether my first post was submitted or not.

winnie · 10/04/2006 08:02

Callmemadam, I am sorry about your Mum. Take care of yourself and 'treat' yourself as Taitai says... most of all be kind to yourself. It is not pathetic to think I just can't cope with anything else, it is human. Good luck this week with the wine abstinance :)

I am determined (again) (blush) that this is going to be a good week. I am booking appointments with myself to get exercise into my week. I am also not buying anything too tempting (although it's Easter next weekend and we have visitors... must try not to think of that now).

Good luck everyone :)

moondog · 10/04/2006 12:14

God,will have to up the ante!
Dh returned from Turkey a whole stone lighter, looking toned and brown and gorgeous! (he's now 13 st at 6ft 1)
Does this have something to do with him turning 41 last week and/or me moaning about his developing gut?? (He was 15 st at Christmas)

I have told him that all he needs to do now is buy a Harley and run off with a sweet young thing.

Blackduck · 10/04/2006 12:15

Moondog LOL....!

TaiTai · 10/04/2006 12:19

so he's lost two stone in just over three months? Good going, Mr moondog.

moondog · 10/04/2006 12:22

It can't be denied that he was turning into a greedy drunken soandso (or so I told him...)

winnie · 10/04/2006 12:36

Lol moondog.

I know WWW is moving house today but I was just wondering where others are?

Scummy, batters, bundle, Caribbeanqueen, soyabean come out come out where ever you are Grin

moondog · 10/04/2006 12:37

Blackduck · 10/04/2006 12:40

Hey I'm here and I'm being good...just had yoghurt for lunch....and NO sweets...

monkeytrousers · 10/04/2006 17:55

Weakness - thy name is CHEESE!!

OP posts:
motherinferior · 10/04/2006 18:01

I am knackered and don't want to go bloody swimming tonight whatever DP says.

I saw Batters today and she is glowing Envy

TaiTai · 10/04/2006 18:20

My weaknesses are the three Cs - Cheese, Chocolate and Coffee. Doesn't help that I live near Borough Market, which has an abundance of all three.
