Day 100

So what have you done and what are you planning to do?

I've started on the water. I had planned to weigh myself but forgot (great start) in addition to everything else on my list I'm going to paint my nails later.

Sitting down is a good plan Laura I Shredded upstairs (that sounds weird!) and couldn't walk downstairs afterwards Grin

DoIlooklike: If you like squash, the easiest and most flavourful soup on the planet (imo!) is a roasted squash and garlic soup.

Chop squash into chunks, chuck in roasting pan with dash of oil and some garlic, roast until browning, blend all together with some water until at desired consistency (better thick though). You can have it as it is, add chilli in any form to it for a kick, a swirl of creme fraiche or cream for a richer taste, pepper for flavour, etc. You can also add other veg like parsnip, carrots or sweet potato easily enough, and red onion. I usually caramelise some red onions and then crisp them up a bit in the oven to throw on top May make some of this later with my special smoked garlic too! Grin

My day is going well! Had toast for breakfast again with nut butter, felt really ill around 11 though so after her gym class my charge and I went to a little hole-in-the-wall type cafe thing at local gardens and I bought an applewood cheddar sandwich for me (they loaded the cheddar in, had to take some out!) and we shared a bit of brownie for lunch (she did have sandwiches too, just some from home! I don't just feed her brownie Wink)

I have had 500ml of water and two herbal teas this morning. I've had my vitamins and flax oil (bleurgh) and have climbing tonight.
Last night I wasn't so good with dinner. I forgot about timings being dodgy between hooping and explorers and by the time I got home from hooping, having got lost on the way home, I had time to get changed, eat a bag of doritos whilst changing and run out of the door.
Luckily I hadn't eaten as one of the explorers split his head open and there was blood everywhere. I'm not normally squeamish but the amount of it was mental! (He's fine though, small cut in a dodgy place!) Came home and had a tub of co-operative vegetable soup with barley that had been frozen for times like this and went straight to bed as it was gone 11 by the time I'd managed to defrost the sodding thing! I have a nice bruise on my hand from hand hooping last night too, but apparently I'll be a natural with the double hoops later on Grin Only because I've been doing poi for four/five years though!

I'm glad to have a good excuse not to Shred though, you lot are putting me off with it! Grin Well done though, I hope it gets easier for you all as you do it more!
I have climbing tonight, I'm looking forward to it :) That and purposely walking up massive hills pushing charge in the buggy earlier is my exercise for the day!

On another note, is anybody on fitocracy? If you are I'd love to follow progress on there!

MotherOfNations · 18/09/2012 14:53

Only had carrot and coriander soup for lunch without bread so treated myself to 3 of dd's mini jaffa cakes. I bought a proper facial moisturiser instead of just using my body lotion on my face like I normally end up doing. I bought some night cream and a body brush too. Completely forgot to buy vitamins.

LauraShigihara · 18/09/2012 16:47

I have cheated and eaten chocolate finger while handing them out to DS and his friend after school. I just put it in my mouth without thinking.

In better news, the after-effects of Day 1 of The Shred haven't been bad. In fact I feel quite energetic now

longjane · 18/09/2012 17:22

right ordered straps for my ankles ( they are a lot better ) before i start the shred ( still in packing)
have found exfoliating gloves and been using them
found 3 tubs of moisturizer ( its is amazing what you get given for christmas and dont use) that is really doing great things for my skin . I have had to throw one out as I really could not stand the smell of it.

water drinking and no crisps not so good as son when to shop and came back the fizzy pop crisp and chocolate cake ( which was not as nice as it looked but eaten now sadly)

Have walked about 2 1/2 till 3 hours with dogs today so done ok their i think now to get son to cook a healthy tea rather that the chippy tea we had yesterday (whoops.. )

liking the soup ideas on here they sound sound lovely

HelgatheHairy · 18/09/2012 18:44

Just a quick check in. Not having a good day. Hardly any water, more Aero, forgot ACV. Giving up on today, will get back to it tomorrow.

Lavenderhoney · 18/09/2012 19:36

ok, better today

shred again- how can i be getting more useless at it? gilian keeps saying 'you should be noticing your stamina increase, right' and i'm so not. still, keeping at it. have downloaded her onto the ipad so can do it anywhere, not just the lounge therefore avoiding comments from dc about my bottom and cake obsession and where its got me etc etc.

plus exfolitaing with mit thing and putting body lotion on. this is a pain as cream won't rub in fast enough for me. have also started to rub moisturiser into my decotalage (sp,sorry) twice a day when i do my face. in the wrong light it looks a tiny bit crepy, enough to panic me anyway:)

managing more water, but cannot face breakfast. not doing vitamins as dont like it all the capsules - i eat pretty healthily so don't have to worry about changing my diet.also cannot even think about lemon juice in water first thing, but have some green tea so am going to start with that. oh, and no coffee after midday!

won't be doing the hair oil thing but i love the idea, i just don't have the time to faff washing it out, drying my long and unruly hair, -how often a week do you do it and will it ruin the colour? i have gold highlights and it costs a frtune to get it done.(tightfisted)

using toner on my face now, perfume everyday, flossing teeth twice a day, getting teeth cleaned by hygenist, must organise wearing makeup everyday. do you touch up during the day? i just shove it on in the morning and then forget about it.

going to do my eyebrows tomorrow and overhaul my wearing of shoes. live in birkenstops. nice for feet but not ideal for looking groomed.

have done the foot cream (vaseline is brilliant) on my feet, but just put socks and cream on round the house whilst doing housework for an hour or so, really horrible for me in bed, hot.

HelgatheHairy · 18/09/2012 20:01

lavender you dont need to wash the hair oil out. There are specific ones for coloured hair ( I think) there's a Keratess one ( I've prob spelt that really wrong) and a loreal one. And then there's the Moroccan oil.

I have massively failed today! Perhaps day 3 is the hard day?!

My DD is teething and it's horrible seeing her so unhappy, she just wants me to cuddle her all the time. I've tried Paracetamol, Ashton and Parsons Powders and Bonjela for kids but none of it seems to be working.

So as a result I've slacked off with the water, drank some fizzy juice for energy, had a takeaway for dinner, didn't moisturise, didn't body brush and haven't walked as far as usual. I'll start afresh tomorrow with a positive attitude- I need to man up as I'm feeling a bit sorry for myself today.

helga I will stage an intervention and remove any further supplies of aero (willing to take one for the team if it means you can stick to the challenge haha)

lavendar have you thought about a body moisturising spray? Soap and glory do one called Girligo, it's a light mist so you just spray on and give it a quick rub. It more or less dries instantly so no faffing. Also I bought a body brush that you can use dry or wet with exfoliator added on- achieves two tasks at once!

WhyIRayLiotta · 18/09/2012 21:23

I've had a pretty rubbish day too... I did take my vitamins and have my green tea, but also had a chippy for dinner and some biscuits. might have some crisps too

I'll be back to it tomorrow!

Because I've cut out desserts and biscuit/cake with every cup of coffee my calorie intake is only averaging 900. I don't want to risk my body going into starvation mode but I'm genuinely not hungry. Maybe I'll just have a takeaway and wine at the weekend to use up all my saved calories. I've dropped 4lbs already probably water weight at this stage but quite pleased.

oopsiforgot · 18/09/2012 22:47

I'm using Unite hair oil and have been for a good 6 weeks, according to my hairdresser you cannot overuse it, it will not make your hair greasy, it's smooths your hair, adds volume, helps it dry quicker and protects it from 'the elements' basically covers everything you could want in a hair product! I have to say my ends r surprisingly good, which is great as I really want longer hair by 97 days!! Wink
Heading off to the market in the morning to get some oily fish and fruit and vegSmile
Still need to get to the hair removal part of this plan, although quite like hairy legs to keep me warm on winterGrin

maristella · 18/09/2012 23:07

Ahhh crap, I forgot to do my sit ups :(

Doing ok other than that but can't stop snacking at work...

addictedisback · 19/09/2012 07:58

Morning all, dh had to go to london today so had to leave at 6am. So I'm sat here in my PJ's having just woken up. I didn't put any oil in my hair yesterday or blow dry it so its looking alittle frizzy this morning.
other than that I'm doing quite well I think.
Next up on my list today is taking vitimins, starting on the water and getting the girls dressed. Hopefully the dds will let me jump in the shower, defuzz, exfoliate (I'm mainly doing just my face and I have that many blackheads and enlarged pores itreally does need doing every day!) I then need to moisturize and do my hair, although having just brushed it, it doesn't look that bad so I may not bother washing it! (Shock I ALWAYS wash my hair every day, but since starting this it just doesn't seem to need it!)

BookFairy · 19/09/2012 08:29

Day 96

My legs still aching but I must Shred today!

addictedisback · 19/09/2012 08:36

(Sorry didn't realise I was the first to post this morning)

lurkingfromhome · 19/09/2012 09:30

I took the Shred out of its wrapping yesterday (baby steps...), watched it for a bit and realized you need weights. I did not know this! So do I need to go to a sports shop and buy real hand weights (and if so, what weight?) or is there anything in the house I can use instead? I'm assuming two tins of soup won't cut it Confused

Misssss · 19/09/2012 09:51

lurking I just use two 1.5 ltr bottles of water. I do have some very girly little weights but its like lifting a bag of feathers.

Yesterday was a write off in terms of princessing. It was my niece's first birthday so lots of cake was consumed and my sil cooked an amazing dinner. Back on it today. I've just got up and having a lemon and hot water.

Best mate is coming round this evening for dinner & Dallas. We are going to Shred together and then do pampering type stuff, facemasks, pedicures etc.

BookFairy · 19/09/2012 09:58

lurking I used 2 tins of beans!

MotherOfNations · 19/09/2012 10:22

I'm struggling to find time to do any formal excercise. I've been taking the bus to nursery/school with the kids then walking back. I live in a 3 storey house so up and down stairs a lot with laundry etc, plus all the extra water I'm drinking means lots I'd trips upstairs to the loo. I've been making a point of using the loo on the top floor. Every little helps I suppose or am I just deluding myself?

lurkingfromhome · 19/09/2012 10:47

Oh thanks, Misssss and BookFairy. Very glad I don't need to enter the unfamiliar surroundings of a sports shop. Grin

addictedisback · 19/09/2012 11:04

So vitimins still haven't been taken. Both DC are having naps and I am making the most of it by having a hot hot chocolate and watching day time TV. I have wet hair, no water has been consumed. I have due fussed tho! And I used baby oil on mg just shaven legs and I'm having a reaction to it :(

lurkingfromhome · 19/09/2012 11:34

I try and tick as many things off in ten minutes as I can, otherwise they'd never get done, eg vitamins get taken with hot water & lemon, guzzled while moisturizing legs and putting eyelash serum on. Four birds with one stone. Still not drinking enough water, though. I just keep forgetting.

HelgatheHairy · 19/09/2012 12:57

So I kind of have from the neck up sorted. Meaning skincare and hair. But I keep forgetting bits of everything else. Like this morning I body brushed but forgot to give myself a rub down with my exfoliating gloves. Then realised I was putting my jeans on and didn't have time to moisturise (if wearing trackies or baggy jeans it's fine but slightly damp legs and tight jeans doesn't work!) Have taken vitamins but forgot about water.

Going to exfoliate my face and do a face mask tonight. And need to get eyebrows under control again. And book a hair appointment and a dentist appointment.

I wandered into boots today and they have started putting out the Christmas skincare sets. Saw a "facial in a box" by Sanctury Spa but it was ?26!!! And wouldn't last that long. Think I'll be waiting for the half price sale and the buy 3 get one free offers. this one here

But it does mean the half price weekly offers should be starting soon. Think it was the start of October last year. Always get the Soap & Glory one although that's always the last one to come out.

I'm also ignoring any mention of The Shred. I am doing a bit of exercise though. 20 mins with the dog in the morning and about 30 mins in the evening which involves going up and down hills.
