Day 100

So what have you done and what are you planning to do?

I've started on the water. I had planned to weigh myself but forgot (great start) in addition to everything else on my list I'm going to paint my nails later.

Day 67

I am alive- it's been a bit manic here as I have had my sis and her DP staying so we've been out and about a lot! Terrible terrible diet week- full fat coke, lots of tea and homemade pavlova/a

Pressed the button too soon (damn phone!)

Today it's back to normality and I have decided to make a bit pot of minestrone soup for our lunches over the weekend which should save on a cake splurge.

Also going to cut back my alcohol intake next week as have several wines each night this week.

Still doing well with the walking, vitamins and skincare stuff though- has anyone properly got into the habit of body brushing?! Mine is looking sad in a corner of the bathroom (the brush that is, not my body!!)

NotQuitePerfect, I'm a fan of Yankee Candles with sweet scents like vanilla cupcake, cherries on snow and Christmas cookie.

Hi Paint, I've got into the habit of using my body brush just before I get in the shower. I find it boring and I'm not sure if it does anything but I make myself do it anyway!

I hope you don't mind me posting. I'm not strictly speaking doing the 100-day challenge although I've done two of the previous "princess" threads and managed to keep some of the good habits!

I recently gave up coffee to see if it was upsetting my blood sugar. I also gave up dark chocolate (contains lots of caffeine). It was hard for the first 48 hours but I have to say I feel better for it and no longer crave either. I was definitely a bit addicted to dark chocolate. I only used to drink one strong coffee a day but I can feel the difference. Anyway, I have lost 2kg by giving them up over the course of a couple of months! Just wanted to share the anecdote. My blood sugar is definitely less erratic (my initial motivation was to try and reduce my PMS symptoms) and I just feel overall better.

My other "trick" was to try and make sure I had more veg in my diet by adding some fruit and veg at every meal (no veg at breakfast though!) - I think this has probably helped with the weight loss too. I now plan my meals with the veg as a starting point and try to see the rest as an addition to the veg. It has definitely contributed to me eating less carbs and meat. I was 100% motivated by health/good skin/energy and NOT weight loss as I already have a healthy BMI, but losing 2kg is not unwelcome!

Good luck to you all!

Hello! Have been at work for the last 2 days: lots of coffee, diet consisting mostly of biscuits (although did have some hummus and carrots yesterday prior to the biscuits...) BUT I haven't had any wine since last Saturday which is bloody marvellous. And I dealt with my
mini tash last night. The rest of me is a bit urgh as have failed on the body brushing moisturising hair oiling bit, but no wine is a massive achievement. And the coffee's been half-caf. Am
a long way from princess-dom but I think my liver will be happier.

I like scented candles. Vanilla ones are lush. Does this make me common?!

Xx

Uh-oh, just finished a large glass of wine and a coke. Dinner was stir-fry though so quite good!

Made the giant pot of Minestrone, can't wait to tuck into it tomorrow!

Have done my nails and am being very careful as I type so I don't smudge!

Morning ladies! DD2 has been up on & off since 430 - I feel awful!

I saw this on Groupon this morning - does it look good? I've never used hair oil before - should I?

I'm a sahm too with a company on the back burner:) sorry ladies been lurking as not doing too well. Got to l3 of shred after managing the other levels easily after a bit and it was awful- cant do it, plus it seems all strength and I need cardio. Bought the 6 pack in 6 weeks instead so need to get that going.

Have been mostly doing the other stuff- only one coffe a day then water only. It's been fine. No snacks or chocolate plus halving portion sizes. Kids keep nicking my lettuce!

The big thing now for me will be giving up alcohol - didn't realise I was so reliant on my glass of wine:( Also I need a new hobby to keep my mind occupied evenings. Was thinking of researching our famiy tree. Wha do you thnk? I hate watching tv, and read too much - knitting etc leaves me cold.

Day 64

Really not feeling like a princess as DD was up every 2 hours last night to feed.

Determined to carry on- bought myself some really nice lemon and ginger tea as I was missing hot drinks and its really yummy. Four mile walk this morning and going to start researching exercise classes in the evening!

Ooof Paint you must be tired!

I feel grumpy and miserable. Cold and drizzley here. I ought to force myself out for a walk (off work due to half term) but so far all I've done is wrap myself in a blanket and put This Morning on!

On the plus side: my skin feels great from moisturing daily and paying attention to my fluid intake; I've been taking vitamins and have not picked up any of the grim colds doing the rounds; my hair feels lovely and soft; and my nails are always painted, even if it's just with clear polish.

Hi just checking in. I'm back to work after a year of mat leave so not had as much spare time. I do think that my skin is looking better. I've been oil cleansing / using serum / eye cream and night cream. I've no spots and think my pores are less obvious :)

I also bought a shampoo bar and conditioner from lush - it was recommended on another thread for hair that gets greasy quickly. Only 1 wash in but my hair is shiny and soft. (I just hope I can now go a day without needing to wash it!)

The diet and exercise part is crap. But now I'm back at work there'll be hopefully no snacking.

Paintyourbox · 22/10/2012 18:21

Oooh WhyIRayLiotta please let me know how you get on with the shampoo bar- my hair needs washed every day as its greasy but now it's all falling out post-pregnancy I am trying to was it less to preserve what I do have!

I am grumpy and I've got a terrible headache! But I have walked nearly 5 miles today which is pretty good!

Morning ladies! How are we all doing?

Ashamed to say I'd fallen off the wagon a bit Blush after the Big Party I was dreading on Saturday ( which of course, proved to be nothing to worry about at all, had an ok time and even thought I managed to hold my own style wise if I can say that without sounding like I'm too up myself! )

But a late boozy night lead to huge carb intake & no exercise on Sunday & yesterday not much better as old friend came to visit and we ate cakes/biscuits & drank coffee for 4 HOURS! (half term here) Grin

Back in training today - going to Shred in a minute followed by full body-brush, exfoliation, hair pack, deep body moisturiser, facial oil blah blah blah. At least 10 glasses of water today and NO processed food Hmm

Welcome back Paint. BookFairy I love the sound of your cosy blanket/This Morning session! Xxx

day 63

I feel like an intruder I haven't been here in so long. I just seem to have lost my mojo completely. The only thing I've really kept up is exercise. Because of the dog I'm walking about an hour a day. That combined with the 5:2 day diet I've lost 7 pounds in the last 3 weeks.

Had given up alcohol but after a very annoying dog walk Sunday evening DH and I had 2 glasses each. At least my second glass was had in the bath so there is still some (very minor) princessing going on.

Hi Helga. Sooo impressed with your weight loss, well done!

I'm not brave enough for the 5:2 diet so just generally trying to avoid processed, sugary, fatty foods.

It gets harder as you get older and I have a very small frame which means that even 3lbs (on, or off) can make the difference between something fitting nicely or making me look like a badly-filled sausage.

Onwards and upwards - Shredded even though I couldn't find my trainers. Still only on Level 2 tho - ho hum [sceptical].

Notquite, sounds lovely at your party:)
Helga, I am small and if I put weight on, like now, I look very plump. My taller friends carry it better. I have a confidence problem with dressing as I am bigger as I am used to being slimmer so I can't bear my mummy tummy. Used to fall off when I was younger, now it feels like it will be around forever and I should look for old lady clothes.

Been doing well with no drinking alcohol - 3 days now- and need to wax my legs, do nails. Does anyone have a weekly routine they could share???:)

Hello everyone! Totally (broke my nails) fallen off the beauty band wagon! Climbing back on as I had a work do last weekend and (shocker!) wasn't feeling at all princessy! So heading for a bath tonight, which is the 1 part of my plan I've actually stuck to! Hope everyone else doing better than me, I shall catch up properly when I get my early night after the bath Wink

Oh dear lord I saw my hips at an unflattering ankle while getting changed today- I have serious cellulite!! cursing pregnancy as I never had cellulite before baby can anyone suggest some sort of cellulite melting miracle cream?!

I have managed to stick to just two cups of tea per day, I am actually sleeping better thanks to the reduced caffeine intake. And I have once again knocked the fizzy juice habit on the head and feeling less bloated!

Quite proud that I have stuck to my skincare routine. My legs however are a bit yeti like....

Oh my word how shite am I at being a princess??! To be fair, princesses don't work nights and then have to go straight onto days. I feel rotten. And am having a (little) bottle of beer and a (big) bag of strawberry Bon bons.

Good things: I did my roots a few days ago; I haven't had any wine for weeks; I'm trying to drink more water; I dyed my eyelashes last weekend. I'm sort of exfoliating (does using one of those scratchy shower mitts count?) and using moisturiser all over. I think I've taken my vitamins most days but I'm all confused from the nights!

Notquite, I'm glad your party was good, and helga nice to see you! Sorry to everyone else - I'm on my phone and can't see further up the page. Lets keep going!! Someone was asking about a beauty routine thingie - I'd love one too

Xxxx

Awww graceless sounds like you are having a rough time- hope it gets better soon.

Last night I managed to do my nails, moisturise all over and put on an overnight hair treatment. I can't help but think that the lack of sleep is undoing my good work however!

Going to start going to Zumba next week with my friend, we used to go twice a week before I got pg and we are quite good at motivating each other.

Day 61

Sounds like everyone's doing quite well Smile

I'm not doing too badly, though I'm getting through body moisturiser much quicker than ever before! Exercise is still my sticking point, though I have been walking a lot more.

Paint it's great that you have someone to motivate you - I'm a bit jealous! I'm going to set myself little goals so my aim for the next week is to only eat chocolate at the weekend and not let myself buy it during the week (can't give it up altogether as that would make me too miserable!).

Day 59 I think ...
Had a few glasses of wine last night , feeling quite rubbish this morning . Tired and legs feel heavy . I feel much better when NOT having alcohol . Hadn't actually realised the difference until now .
Managing the fruit and veg , lots of water, exfoliate ( scratchy mitt ) and moisturising .
Sorted out my make up , and bought some of the No 7 matching your skin foundation ( £6-95 )
Just need to do my toenails , as have 2 naked nails and 8 painted nails . Not a good look .

Am drinking water more now! Mainly because. Am on the treadmill running 5 k a day for 3 days running now. Just tell myself in 35 mins I can get off and that's it!

Feet are in a state, next job I will sort them out and wear pretty sandals not my Birkenstocks everywhere:)

Am wearing sparkly tiara at dds request about the house, so feeling quite princessy. Although not sure princesses eat jammy dodgers with pjs on:)
