Day 100

So what have you done and what are you planning to do?

I've started on the water. I had planned to weigh myself but forgot (great start) in addition to everything else on my list I'm going to paint my nails later.

OP posts:
addictedisback · 10/10/2012 16:43

just checking in so I dont loose you!

have 2 extreemly grumpy children so will be back later (probably tomorrow!)

bessie26 · 10/10/2012 20:09

paint I've made a warm berry breakfast a couple of times & it's really yummy - pm me & I'll sent you the link on my blog.

Just done level 2 Shred. After doing lots of downward dogs yesterday at yoga. My arms may not work tomorrow!!

Bath is running - must remember to moisturise afterwards!

Am impressed with you all doing your nails - I sometimes buff mine with my lovely LD board, but CBA to paint them as they always chip immediately - do I just need to buy better polish? Any suggestions?

BookFairy · 10/10/2012 21:39

bessie I read great nail painting advice on here: use a base coat, then 1 coat nail colour, then base coat, then 1 coat nail colour, then top coat. (I have a base/top coat in one). My nails only started chipping after 6/7 days! I only left each coat to dry for 15ish mins and did them in front of the telly :)

bessie26 · 10/10/2012 22:00

but that's 1.25hrs of sitting around doing nothing! Shock - I think I would rather go to bed early! Grin

HelgatheHairy · 11/10/2012 08:35

day75 (I think?)

Bit of a mixed bag really. Doing a bit more walking but having a severe outbreak of dermatitis on my face. Had been slacking off on the acv so made up a batch last night and am using it again.

Have decided to get a treadmill now they're half price in Argos, will still have to take the dog walking but now I can do couch to 5k.

Am a few pounds down after a good first week on 5:2 diet, on second week now and as hadn't planned very well finding it a bit tougher.

Body brushing isn't happening I admit, and I keep forgetting to moisturise. Everything else is a bit hit and miss.

OP posts:
gracelesslady · 11/10/2012 10:37

Hello can I join in? I'm pretty good at beauty type stuff (make up every day, hair kept under control, could do better with body brushing/remembering to moisturise every day) but its the looking after myself in terms of food water and rest that I'm just rubbish at. I work nasty shifts and end up going for days on toast and coffee. I complain and whinge that I feel like shite all the time but I know I'd feel better if I ate better.

Kind of started yesterday - loads of fruit in the morning, humus and ryvitas and more fruit for lunch then veggie soup and more ryvitas for tea (I was at work hence limited variety!) but I did start the day with a proper coffee - I cannot stare down a 14 hour shift on lemon and hot water... And then I had a bottle of beer when I got home. Not perfect, but a bit of an improvement!

Anyway, need to scrutinise the list and work out what I need to do, but thanks for the inspiration xxxx

BookFairy · 11/10/2012 12:02

Hi gracelesslady

I think we're all just figuring out what works for us and seeing how it goes :)

gracelesslady · 11/10/2012 13:52

Thanks bookfairy - sounds like a plan! Xx

HelgatheHairy · 11/10/2012 14:27

Hi graceless

Delighted to see people still jumping on board - especially as I seem to be sliding off!

OP posts:
WhyIRayLiotta · 11/10/2012 19:06

I am sliding as well. It's my last week of maternity leave - so I've been naughty. Eating loads and having wine at night (cos won't be able to next week!)
My gym is beside work though - so when I get into a routine with my job / childcare etc I will start back at the gym.
I am keeping my nails nice and eating loads of vegetables covered in cheese sauce

gracelesslady · 11/10/2012 21:04

Urm..... I'm sitting watching telly, having had a glass of wine (had to finish the bottle off or it would have been wasted and that's just wrong) and now I'm a third of the way down a tub of Ben and jerries. Can I start tomorrow???!!

longjane · 12/10/2012 13:28

the eating right has not being going that well

I am walking about 3 hours a day with dogs but the shred is still in wrapping.

trying to keep up with moisturizing as i can feel it working i have got though 2 jars of stuff that i had had for ages . of course now i want to go out and buy lovely smelly moisturizing stuff but can afford to so now need to get some cheap stuff .

gracelesslady · 12/10/2012 13:54

have been out for brekkie with my friend. ate a croissant the size of my head and 2 strong coffees. i am the queen of starting tomorrow.... anyway, have been to boots and bought some hair oil and have thought about the list....

  1. 8 glasses of filtered water a day - just ordinary water will do me fine. have got a 750ml bottle that i'll aim to get through twice.
  2. Exfoliate (everything...within reason)
  3. Use teeth whitener - whitening toothpaste
  4. Use anti-aging face cream - i use a BB cream. it's got factor 15 in it - d'you think that'll do??
  5. Intensive nail care (feet and hands) - hands and feet are totally ignored. will do something about this. hand cream maybe?
  6. Use eyelash growth serum OR eye cream - not doing this. eyelash growth serum??!! really?!
  7. The Shred / other intensive exercise - have got 2 tracy anderson dvd's that never see the light of day. will try to do one 4 times a week. I tried the Shred once and all i got was massive quads and sore knees. didn't lose a single pound or inch! hopefully that'll not be the case for the 100 day-ers on here.
  8. At least 2 extra fruit & veg every day
  9. Healthy breakfast daily
10. Use hair oil (moroccan hair oil for eg, or kerastase etc) - just got some!! 11. No alcohol during the week & no boozing it up on weekends - oh my dear and actual god.... Confused really need to do this. how's everyone else fairing without wine in the evenings? 12. Take vitamins every day - am going to take a multivitamin, probiotic and flaxseed oil 13. Body brushing - really must do this. it makes such a difference to my skin when i do. 14. At least 2 servings of salmon or other fatty fish per week - don't eat meat so it'll be the flaxseed oil capsules for me 15. One early night once a week. Suggest 9PM. - brilliant idea. just have to actually do it. 16. Regular hair removal - well i already epilate everything, just on an irregular basis. must do better.... 17. Give up one naughty favourite item e.g. chocolate/crisps. - gawd, there's so many to choose from. chocolate, crisps, cakes, biscuits, coffee, wine.... which one to pick?! 18. No more fizzy drinks - don't really drink them. could do with giving up coffee. don't know if i'd survive if i did. Hmm 19. DAILY body moisturising 20. Warm water with lemon first thing in the a.m. - not a pint of coffee???!!! Shock Okay.... will give it a go....

Need to print out my list and stick it somewhere prominent. have the memory (and willpower) of a gnat

NotQuitePerfect · 12/10/2012 15:54

Finally moved on to Level 2 of Shred (have been doing level one 3-4 times pr week, for 3 weeks) - OMG it is a leap up! Found the walking press-up to plank thing in circuit one physically impossible. Will try again tomorrow though. Body brushing/exfoliating/vits/moisturising all going well. Cutting down alcohol, not so well. But trying to do 2 x 9pm bedtimes per midweek, so no wine on those nights. Started using St Moritz fake tan (£3 from Wilko's) - utterly brilliant, can't see how a £25 one could be any better!

bessie26 · 12/10/2012 17:31

It's the squat thrust things that kill me notquite - hate them with a vengeance! Am impressed with how often you are doing it, I'm only managing once or twice a week.

grace try cutting down on the coffee first! I have a cup of warm water first thing in the morning, swiftly followed by a large mug of tea! Grin

plaingirly · 12/10/2012 19:07

I so need to do these things!

I don't do any beauty stuff. I need to lose weight and hate how I look and have pretty much given up on myself. I don't even moisturise!

I just need to get into a proper routine and I hope that if I start taking care of the beauty stuff I might be able to stick to a healthy diet and exercise plan just because I care more. And feel less like a monster!

I basically shower (everyday so it isn't like I am mucky) but that is it. Bit of face moisturiser, brush through hair and grab something dark and baggy to wear.

I have never had any idea about style or clothes or accessorising or anything.

BookFairy · 12/10/2012 23:18

Hi plaingirly :)

Check out the lists of aims/good products/helpful tips that people have posted earlier in the thread for inspiration. Lots of us are just muddling through and seeing what works and what is feasible in everyday life. I keep checking into the thread as it helps me to stay motivated :)

HelgatheHairy · 13/10/2012 09:39

day 73

Welcome girly. I think going through the list and seeing what up you want to do would be a good start. I find when I starts with the beauty routine I get motivated to watch what I eat and exercise more. (I'm on week 2 of the 5:2 diet and have ordered a treadmill! Still not braved the shred though!)

graceless I have a feeling you're going to fit right in. I decided instead of just cutting down I was going to give up wine for October and its going easier than expected.

OP posts:
bessie26 · 13/10/2012 12:58

Has anyone heard of/tried this freeze face cream? I've not heard of it before, but am tempted by the "targeted" wrinkle cream, as then I can continue using my (much cheaper) cream on the rest of my face!

Doilooklikeatourist · 13/10/2012 15:34

Hallo again .

Still haven't done any excercise , however I'm doing well on the water , no less alcohol and extra bits of veg .

Keep forgetting the multi Vits though !

Need a haircut , but didn't have time this week ( so I cut my own fringe oops ! )
Haven't eaten crisps or drunk any fizzy drinks , but I don't do that anyway .

Using up an ancient bottle of Nivea body lotion now , I might actually have to buy some new stuff soon !

Misssss · 13/10/2012 19:36

I basically forgot about princessing for a couple of weeks there. Started working full time for the first time in ages and I've just been too exhausted to even contemplate dragging a body brush over my skin.

However I've just been to the shops and had a shock when I saw myself waddling towards a full length mirror. Immediately put down the fruit & nut and went and bought some hair oil, fruit and some bottles of water.

I seriously need to do something about my weight too - I've just called a Cambridge diet lady and I'm going to see her this afternoon. edit been to see the diet woman. My scales are broken and I actually weigh much more than I thought. Hell!

I think this week I'm going to focus on my hair. I went on a date on Tuesday and had to put on a wig (a good one!) because my hair looked rubbish. I've just seen Taken 2 and like the idea of a hair do like Famke Jannsen's. Will need hair extensions to achieve but hopefully won't take much "doing" if I get the cut right.

NotQuite My Sil uses the St Moritz stuff and loves it. She keeps a mini stockpile of it incase they ever discontinue.

gracelesslady · 13/10/2012 21:01

Helga, thanks. And hi everyone Smile

Moisturised all over today, and did usual hair n make up but apart from
that, no princessing has occurred. Might go and take my vitamins just so I feel like I'm doing something!!!

Xx

gracelesslady · 13/10/2012 21:15

Oooh Bessie, sorry am on phone and its hard to see everything! I really so badly need to cut down. I drink about 3 cups of proper coffee every day and nightshifts apart, a decent glass of red wine every night. It's no good. I keep getting anaemic cos of the rubbish food (diet based mainly on toast) and red wine and coffee both have things in which inhibit your absorption of iron in your diet. But I'm knackered and my sleep pattern (ha! What sleep pattern?!) is shot due to the shifts, so the coffee wakes me up and the wine helps me sleep.... Totally rubbish situation. Need to take control!! I'm going to get some half caf and start there. And you're probably right. Cold turkey on the booze (drank the last of the bottle last night Wink)

Xx

addictedisback · 14/10/2012 10:46

hello! hopefully I am back (fx) I've been pretty crap with the water and vitimins and crashed hard (cfs) but I'm on my way back up now (fx)

has anyone got any tips fpr non pealing nail polish? I bought revlon 5 in 1 top and base coat (I thought after a reccommendation on here) but it peals off and chips really easily? is that a sign I just need to keep going as I have very weak nails? or is it just crap?

addictedisback · 14/10/2012 10:48

Blush just realiesd i'm sat here eating my was through a pack of tesco bacon and egg sweets, not doing so well on the staying away from unnecessary sugar!
