I was thinking on my commute into work this morn how since I have been using this thread I have directly bought a number of beauty products based on recommendations from other mumsnetters Grin. I have listed below and also whether I rate them in the hope others might do the same?

Moroccon oil ? wonder product hair lost frizziness and is sleeeker, exoensive but lasts ages
Rapid Lash serum ? again great product really noticed a difference
Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation ? amazing will never go back and I had tried all the big brands. YSL, Chanel etc?
Tuban Towel - hmmm not sure on this one, normal towel was just fine
Clarins Mascara Fix Brilliant product ? keeps lashes in place with no smudging all day
Bare Mineral Mineral Veil Powder - Great stuff ? reduces shine and has a high SPF factor
Clinique City Block SPF 40 - Ok, not sure I will buy again, still searching for a high SPF day wonder product
Decleor Neroli Face Oil - Love it! New essential part of skin care routine

I am sure I will think of others?.

oh gosh forgot:
Shred & Ripped DVDs - nightmare but brilliant
Bottom Butter - ok

toastandmarmiterocks · 24/08/2012 19:45

loads as well!

From memory:

Babyliss Big Hair - like I just stepped out of a salon!
Clarks Majorca Villa boots - wore loads last winter but feel a bit dated now
Clarks discount - see above!
Scarf, but not THE MN scarf, ok but not great quality
L'oriel hair oil - smooth & swishy hair
Linen slouchy Zara t-shirts - love!

I'm sure theres more. This board has definitely given me a helping hand and inspired me out of my baby tunnel. I feel more confident to just go for it now.

toastandmarmiterocks · 24/08/2012 19:49

oh yes, and the shred of course the shred. Brilliant when I actually did it... blows dust of dvd and remembers fondly the distant memory of my motivation, whilst tucking into a dairy milk.

Spookey80 · 24/08/2012 20:09

BBH- good, but also seems to make me look like a newsreader, so only use when I'm fed up with my flat hair. May keep for when I grow out my layers!
OCM stuff- still doing it 5 months later and my skin is much better.
Barbara Daly primer from tesco- pretty good
Sudocrem- already had, but now use as primer, v v good
facial oils- love them now, currently usin botanics one, yum
Hair turbin- ok, but could have just used towel
Zara linen tees,,,and loads of other clothes from blogs I now look at thanks to s&b
s&g foot file
Loads of other stuff I can't remember at the mo!

But as a previous poster, I too have re-developed an interet in my skin and appearance since finding this and my skin particularly has never looked better...hence I feel better. Thanks all, keep the recommendations coming....just try to make them cheap ones if poss.....!

Trills · 24/08/2012 20:20

Oh yes, I bought a completely pointless hair turban too.

novelsituation · 24/08/2012 20:26

Littlemissimpatient · 24/08/2012 20:59

How does the babyliss big hair work?

Grin at Niceupthedance
... but yes, what is it?

novelsituation · 24/08/2012 21:18

Liquid gold is a preparation containing glycolic acid. You wear it overnight and it's meant to be great for acne / fine lines.

But maybe I need the other sort after the week I've had Smile....

Itsgottabebags · 24/08/2012 21:26

Hair turban
Bottom butter
Animal print scarf but not the M N one

Littlemissimpatient · 24/08/2012 21:47

Zwitterion · 24/08/2012 22:08

Loads.

Estee Lauder Double Wear Light foundation - love
Rosehip oil - jury's out
Bottom butter - love
Big hair - ok, but can't be arsed most of the time
Shred - there are no words
Nivea tinted moisturiser - love
Sudocrem for everything
Flexitol heel balm
Zara linen ts
M and s jeggings
Brora sweater

Love S & B, keep em coming!

AmberNectarine · 24/08/2012 22:33

Grin at Nice, that is exactly what I thought of when I read it.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 24/08/2012 22:56

Phase Eight Janice dress - not v good. It shrank a bit when washed and is v thin and poor quality. Wore it two or three times but it's been sitting at the bottom of the ironing pile for at least a year now.

Lancome mascara - hated Hypnose (HATED it!) but like Definicils a lot

Natural Collection blusher - like it

A bikini instead of a swimming costume for first foreign holiday with children a few years ago, because Cod told me to stop being bloomin' stupid saying I was too fat for a bikini. Was v glad I bought it.

A Revlon brow pencil - crap, so if anybody can recommend a GOOD one that would be great.

Loreal shampoo supposedly good for nasty scalps - it wasn't

Argan oil conditioner - it's okay but no better than other conditioners tbh

Dawndonna · 25/08/2012 09:51

ddtwins birthday soon, was debating some (reasonably priced) make up to add to what we've got. Remembered a number of people had mentioned E.L.F. on here. Ordered yesterday, arrived this morning. Very impressed, so once again, thanks S&B!

FauxFox · 25/08/2012 10:59

remus i have a navy Janice that shrunk a bit and became too short, it has recently had a renaissance as a top - so flattering with skinny jeans - I love it now Smile

WoodlandHills · 25/08/2012 12:43

please could someone link to the mn scarf? am even more intrigued now!

Pinot · 25/08/2012 15:58

Woodlands, it was horrid. Save yourself.

steben · 25/08/2012 16:36
