Very expensive mum boots, non?

Is it just me, but they are just like the noughties horrors aren't they?

Lol Ah happy sigh.

MarshaBrady · 21/08/2012 09:25

Justasecond it does feel like an ankle boot cartel atm for sure.

If you want something current then it's Chloe, Marant, Acne. This is the same with High St anyway as they do the same type of things.

I'd love to see a Preen version or Burberry do something as good as their peacoat.

AmberNectarine · 21/08/2012 09:37

There were some nice Alexander Wang ankle boots on the outnet y'day.

MarshaBrady · 21/08/2012 09:46

Thanks Amber. I can't do Wang, too masculine for my size 7s. A pity!

MarshaBrady · 21/08/2012 09:56

Well the ones left anyway, the good ones are probably sold out.

VerityBrulee · 21/08/2012 10:23

I'm not keen on the shape of the heel on the Pistols or Jalouse. I like a blockier heel. Kurt Geiger have 2 nice boots, Shore and Sofie this season. Wish it was easier to link from iphone!

ollie the Carvela Shaw boot is vv nice and comes in grey, although it is a dark blue/grey, but lovely, and half price!

dexter73 · 21/08/2012 11:52

Come on people who think that Acne boots are mum boots! Link to some boots that you like and aren't mumsy or dull!

PippiLongShocking · 21/08/2012 12:02

I'm going to be wearing these this winter

OP posts:
PippiLongShocking · 21/08/2012 12:06

I like these too, so sue me
I like wearing and don't mind paying more for well made, comfortable clothes and shoes made from high quality materials, that are a little different to the norm. Acne pistols don't tick these boxes for me.

The DM's are very jazzy but the Campers are 10x more mumsy and dull than the Acnes!!

DonaAna · 21/08/2012 12:44

I'm currently in a city where a large proportion of the inhabitants is into Camper style shoes. Let's put it this way: they do change the proportions of an outfit. They shorten the leg and widen the foot.

noddyholder · 21/08/2012 12:45

Any moulded looking boots are unflattering campers and flys. DMs are a classic that comes round and never really dates but wouldn't suit my clothes so not for me but I know lots of people love them

Turquoiseblue · 21/08/2012 16:14

Ohh I have to say - I tried on pistols - and they did nothing for me -totally not my style...... But I m jelous of anyone who can successfully pull em off. I looked like a lost extra from AB fab Sad Have been looking for a grey pair of ankle boots since last winter too loved the rag and bone ones linked earlier. I m in the unfortunate predicament of needing ankle boots and knee highs this year .....

OllieinOrange · 21/08/2012 18:57

Nice boots Verity - will keep an eye out to try on.

Kew had some grey ankle ones last year - think think they had a fold over top (can't think of a better way to describe it) and didnt do anything for me - too gapey around the ankle.

Regret not buying the Top Shop taupe ones which look grey.

The search continues.

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 21/08/2012 19:00

The DMs are awful, hopefully they are not worn with dungarees....

PippiLongShocking · 21/08/2012 20:02

It would be tempting, just to spite you style mavens.
