Well bugger me. That's v good news BD. No going back now!

motherinferior · 17/08/2012 20:16

BD Wine

I myself am contemplating the fact we are going from London - where it is going to be HOT - to Cornwall, where it is not going to be hot, for a week. And suspect I have as ever allowed optimism to control my packing.

But, but, but, I have blagged a review copy of the new Alan Garner. It arrived in the office today and I shrieked with joy...only to realise that everyone else thought this book with a black and grey cover was Sodding Shades of Sodding Grey Blush

TheReturnOfStropperella · 17/08/2012 21:25

Hooray and congrats BD. Wine Wine

Have had a bit of a week of it - all rushing about and tiresomeness of one form or another. Dh is back to work and off antibiotics and seems (touch wood etc etc) to be doing OK. He is possibly still a bit more ... bumbly than usual, but not so as you would really notice.

Last night friends phoned and asked if dd would like to go on holiday with them to the French Alps today. So off she went this afternoon. 6 kids aged from 2 to 14 and 2 adults in a 9-seater Landrover. Camping in the Alps. I blardy wish I was going. Some people have all the luck. Envy

Had to drive rather far this morning to an exam centre to take a test for a module of the IT course I am doing - 94% - woohoo and I didn't even think I would pass.

Ds and I have a sporty w/e planned to take the edge of his disappointment at not having friends who will take him on foreign holidays. He wants to attend a karate training sesh on Weymouth Beach at 8.30am on Sunday and tomorrow we are running up and down ancient monuments with the dog in the morning and cycling in the afternoon. Dh is chasing deadlines all w/e (well, that's his story anyway).

MI - I am Envy at you being in possession of the new Garner.

Ps: dh has that Waterpik flosser thingy - he swears by it.

motherinferior · 17/08/2012 21:46

Waterflosser is plug-in. I may have Boobed. Grin

CointreauVersial · 18/08/2012 00:37

Fab news, BD. What a relief. Just the actual move to do now. Grin

Boy, it is hot at the moment. I'm just sorting out my clothes for tomorrow's festival and am a little concerned that the head-to-toe neon lycra ensemble I'm planning to wear might prove to be a little....sweaty. I'm also having a footwear crisis. Flipflops, wellies, or something in between?

Thanks all - off loading dog and child on folks today/tomorrow which will then give dp and I a clear run at it on our own. We were both a bit shellshocked last night and I could see dp visibly relaxing, so pointed out we have a zillion things to do yet!

MI am Envy too at Alan garner book but did laugh at 50 shades! Isn't BTM reading it? We need an update.
Stropps glad to hear things are going well.

Blackduck · 18/08/2012 08:01
