Your thoughts please so I don't waste my pennies.

I've just purchased another bottle (fool me twice...) of Co-Op nail polish remover that wouldn't shift polish

ever..... ever...... ever.

OP posts:

That white coat first mascara really suits me, gives me really long lashes that dont clump. I must have been using them 10 years now.

Lancome mascara was rubbish though. Cost a bomb too.

Holland and Barratt snail gel, mainly alcohol and bought me out in a rash. I took it back and the sales lady was really off with me. I bought it because I saw it on here.

Argan oil, didnt do anything for me at all. DH likes it for his hair though.

Maybelline great lash mascara.

ComradeJing · 28/06/2012 15:30

Oh YY to Maybelline great lash! It's rubbish!

HeartsJandJ · 28/06/2012 15:34

What is snail gel??

wheresthepopcorn · 28/06/2012 15:35

I did think Maybelline great lash mascara was rubbish. Palmers cocoa butter for stretch marks - overpriced and smells like chemicals. Couldn't stand it!

Conflugenglugen · 28/06/2012 15:43

Clarins fake tan. I came up in chicken skin all over my neck.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/06/2012 15:49

Snail is meant to be healing and calming and I have poor healing skin so any spots take ages to fade away.

I thought it would speed up the process, it didnt and the main ingredients are alcohol.

So now you know never to buy snail gel.

ChunkyMonkeyMother · 28/06/2012 17:32

Is snail gel like snake oil? But flammable?

ENormaSnob · 28/06/2012 18:04

Benefit bad gal mascara, possibly the worst ever.

Most no7 stuff.

Joules shower gel, cheap and nasty and smelly like cheapo washing up liquid. Consistency of watery diarrhoea.

Fluffycloudland77 · 28/06/2012 18:07

My DH maintains most cosmetics/skincare/bodycare etc is snake oil.

happy2bhomely · 28/06/2012 18:11

See, I love benefit bad gal mascara! It just goes to show, some of the things on this thread are my 'must have' products.

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeGoes · 28/06/2012 18:21

Clarins Flash balm - glad I only had a free sample and didn't spend money on it, did nothing for me.

The entire Simple skincare range makes my skin all itchy and red.

As do all facial wipes that I have ever tried.

Most recent crap purchase was Bourjois Nail Varnish remover in a pink pot with a sponge inside, you poke your finger into the hole and so the label says you are supposed to have a varnish free nail in one second. Well, ten seconds of vigorous twisting and squidging still only takes off about half of it, quicker doing it the conventional way. Just binned it.

I must put in a good word for the Body Shop Rainforest Shine shampoo and conditioner though, lovely and low sulphate / free from silicones.

Charliefox · 28/06/2012 18:52

Agree with clarins beauty flash barm and benefit they're real mascara.

Engelsmeisje · 28/06/2012 18:57

Clinique 3 step cleanser/toner/mois. Stripped my skin of any moisture and had to give up after 4 days.

gave it to my sister who loved it.

Itsgottabebags · 28/06/2012 18:59

If anyone wants to sell their Clarins Beauty Flash Balm please PM me.

Bunbaker · 28/06/2012 19:23

"Most no7 stuff"

I love no 7. What don't you like about it?

mumofjust1 · 28/06/2012 19:33

Anything from Elvive, revlon photo ready foundation - big bits of glitter, I looked like bloody Ke$hia! I emailed revlon and they sent me out a tenners worth of vouchers, so I brought revlon age defy foundation and it's lovely Smile

Elegant touch 14 day French - only paid £1.50 for them so not too bad.

Benefit bad gal lash and tinted moisturizer in the red tube - the word "tango" comes to mind Grin

Anything from Garnier - hate it.

blabalalalablabla · 28/06/2012 19:45

My most recent worst buy has to be Nars The Multiple.
Good colour - but, and this is a big but, it seems to sink into my pores leaving lovely red coloured dots wherever I've put it...
I do use a primer etc but every time I try it, it still has the same pin cushion effect.

FoxPass · 28/06/2012 20:15

L'Occtaine almond shower oil. Horrific allergic reaction! Smell and softness didn't last on my skin either.

wasabipeanut · 28/06/2012 20:17

Have to agree Clinique 3 step is awful. I got bought some as a gift years ago. The toner smelt like industrial cleaning fluid and made me rashy & sore. The dramatically different moisturiser was shit. If a bottle of that stuff is sold every 7 seconds or whatever Clinique claim they're being done.

Dr Haushka rose day cream makes me greasy & spotty but I forgave them because the light version is perfect.

I also love Clarins Beauty Flash Balm.

GoOnTim · 28/06/2012 20:19

God I LOVE these threads

Benefit BadGal mascara - so disappointing

Soap and Glory mascara - ditto

Clarins BF Balm - does nowt

Paul Mitchell Wild Ginger serum - pfffft

MrsMcNulty · 28/06/2012 20:59

Clinique Dramatically Different moisturiser - face comes out in itchy rash

Clarins Beauty Flash Balm - sticky gloop, not sure what it should have done to my face but it did nothing

Bio oil - can't stand the smell

Clinique Aromatics Elixir perfume - have collected loads of samples of this over the years and it smells like furniture polish

But I love powder mineral foundation and Nars Orgasm blush. And Palmers cocoa butter smells gorgeous to me.

ENormaSnob · 28/06/2012 21:28

Re the no7 stuff.

I find the mascara dreadful. Dry, flaky and did nothing at all.

Foundation, greasy and poor coverage. Lasted about 3 hours.

Lipgloss, not great colour, thin and again lasted about 5 minutes.

Liquid eyeshadow went creasy. Nice colour though.

Nail varnish, goes on well but chips easily. Then again, most do IMO.

cybbo · 28/06/2012 21:41

Nano blur. It did not do what it said on the tin

fedupofnamechanging · 28/06/2012 21:45

I like Maybelline Great Lash mascara - it doesn't go dry and clumpy on me.

Dislike No7 primer - made my skin really dry and the foundations settled in clumps.

janelikesjam · 28/06/2012 22:27

Any "eye cream". Always makes my eyes itchy and watery. horrible.
