Your thoughts please so I don't waste my pennies.

I've just purchased another bottle (fool me twice...) of Co-Op nail polish remover that wouldn't shift polish

ever..... ever...... ever.

Soap and glory glow job www.soapandglory.com/products/bath-body/bronzing/glow-job made me look ill

Laura mercier tinted foundation - made me look ill and I felt sticky

sweetsandmoresweets · 28/06/2012 09:41

Anything from garnier
No 7
Olay
Dermalogica

ChunkyMonkeyMother · 28/06/2012 09:47

Controversially I didn't like the Aldi mascara! I bought it after seeing it all ove S&B here but was less than impressed, it was very clumpy and already smelt yucky!

I also love my YSL stick but don't use It daily.

I can't remember the name but the shampoo designed for thick hair from home bargains, was told it would work wonders but it smells disgusting and leaves my hair thick and greasy plus it pLays hell with my scalp! It's in a green tube?

AlpinePony · 28/06/2012 09:50

Dior capture totale moisturiser - the one Sharon Stone advertises.

Cost me over $100 when I really didn't have a penny to my name Blush and it just gave me acne.

AlpinePony · 28/06/2012 09:57

Youlllaughaboutit 8 hour cream was actually invented for cows (udder cream), not horses!

HeartsJandJ · 28/06/2012 09:59

Any lip gloss. Just a method of sticking hair to lips as far as I can see.

However, I like clumpy mascara so the Maybelline stuff works fine for me. Grin

YoulllaughAboutItOneDay · 28/06/2012 10:06

Alpine - I thought it was horses. Either way, it smells like it is for animals not people Grin

peggyblackett · 28/06/2012 10:07

Oh yes, Chanel Vitalumiere. It makes me look bloody dreadful.

FoxPass · 28/06/2012 11:21

Hopefully try diluting eco friendly shampoos. The Body Shop now do a good one with no SLS or parabens. I add plenty warm water to a cup, a few squirts of shampoo, lean over the bath and slosh it on my roots and work it through. Does the trick!

waitingforgodot · 28/06/2012 11:33

that mineral powder foundation-shiter than shite.

The lash lengthening serum-revitalash or whatever its called. The one in the silver tube. Cost me £40 and still have short stumpy lashes

happy2bhomely · 28/06/2012 11:42

I love Clarins beauty flash balm!

Eight hour cream is crap and smells funny.

MorrisZapp · 28/06/2012 11:44

Kerastase conditioning milk. Smelled like an elevator gagger perfume from the 80s, and made my hair sticky and pouffy.

Michael Kors leg shine... I didn't buy this but I coveted it when all the mags hyped it up many summers ago. Apparently it is utter shit, check out makeupalley reviews.

miaowmix · 28/06/2012 11:47

Touche Eclat, worst beauty buy ever, bar none. Total reverse panda look, gave me bags on bags!
Controversially, I love Clarins Beauty Flash, Chanel vitalumiere, Nars orgasm, and Clinique Black Honey Shock!

Susieloo · 28/06/2012 11:57

Creme de la mare moisturiser, made no difference to my skin at all apart from giving me really clogged pores, I used it in conjunction with their oil based cleanser and spent about £140 on the two-it was a panic buy as I'd just been dumped!! Both products totally overrated. Also agree re eight hour cream and clarins beauty flash balm, in fact I now avoid any cult beauty buys on the assumption they won't suit me!!

valiumredhead · 28/06/2012 12:30

Anything by Beneshitfit.

badtasteflump · 28/06/2012 12:36

BB Cream - I've tried Maybelline and Garnier (fool me twice also Grin) and they were both just like using extra-greasy tinted moisturiser - and more orange!

Bunbaker · 28/06/2012 12:44

"Anything from garnier
No 7
Olay"

Have you got ultra sensitive skin? I regularly buy all of those brands and have had no problems.

AKMD · 28/06/2012 12:59

Soap & Glory conditioner. I think the factory accidentally put shampoo in my bottle as it certainly didn't detangle.

Soap & Glory Glow Job tinted moisturiser. Streaky and itchy.

Nivea tinted moisturiser (for which rash purchase I blame Mumsnet Angry). Looked like foundation when it came out of the tube, still looked like foundation on my face and made me look like a stripper.

Garnier Fructis shampoos and conditioners when I was a teenager. My mum used to get really cross that I wasn't rinsing my hair properly until my hairdresser told us that it was actually the shampoo/conditioner's fault. As soon as we bought a different brand it was fine.

Aussie conditioner for long hair. Again, a mix-up with the shampoo? Confused I still have half a bottle sitting in the bathroom waiting to be binned.

Bunbaker · 28/06/2012 13:09

Any Nivea product. I have even tempered skin, but their products just sit on my skin and feel greasy.

sweetsandmoresweets · 28/06/2012 13:49

bunbaker yes i do have sensitive skin, but out of the three, Olay is the worst.

ComradeJing · 28/06/2012 13:56

Susie I've recently started using the Gel de la Mer and my skin has never, ever looked in better shape. A friend of mine used to cream though and said it was the biggest load of spot inducing expensive bollocks that she had ever used.

Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser just looks wrong on me. Liz Earle tinted moisturiser is a brilliant colour but turns me into an instant grease face.

Astr0naut · 28/06/2012 14:04

THose fancy mascaras from a few years ago, the ones where yo put the white stuff on first, then the black. Utter crap.

badtasteflump · 28/06/2012 14:08

I had one of those mascaras - lovely clumpy spider legs effect Hmm

MarianForrester · 28/06/2012 14:10

By Terry mascara. It runs and clumps, and I am no make up novice. Have devoted life to it Grin

The concealer is great tho.

PlumSykes · 28/06/2012 14:38

Benefit foundation brush. The bristles were black. And so was my face.
