Hi all!

Sorry about the rain/hairdo situation Hopefully.

I am eating G and Bs Mint dark choc as I write Verity.

Bloody cold here. And wet.

Oh I love that mac and the dress Red! Will pm you and dauphin and apuski about a meetup - also suburban are you near us?

Marsha - there's a Celine at Bicester now but was very disappointing and smelled bizarrely of loo cleaner!

Ollie - re. your resort evening attire - ahem - your white jeans of course with heels and slinky top!

I looked at lots of pretty dresses today but have actually come to the realisation that there's just no point buying them as for 95% of the year I wear jeans and coats [depressing]

blossoming · 04/05/2012 20:08

Oh, you got the coat red. I'm sure you look lovely in it.

Russianred · 04/05/2012 20:09

Sounds like a good plan with the shoes Marsha - they need to be worn!

A shame Decam, but it all bodes well for the point at which you are ready to return.

Everything you are very zen indeed. I would be going wild. DH is running a residential camping trip next week with lots of de-motivated boys. It's going to be around freezing at night - rather him than me!

Russianred · 04/05/2012 20:13

I wore it today with a breton, navy skinnies and my very nearly dead Ash Virgin trainers. I felt very happy with my outfit.

MrsCB you are very right about dresses - I have a collection of them that I just don't wear. I love them dearly though. I would love an MU.

Amber lovely colour and shape, but remain unconvinced by the material.

suburbanstyle · 04/05/2012 20:31

Ooh love that dress Red started watching the new series of Mad Men last night lots of beautiful shift dresses. The Mac is also about the best thing you could buy right now a very wise choice.

Have almost settled on this dress and jacket tomorrow which feels like a bit of a cop out but I really hate being cold and is going to be very outdoorsy. It is local though so could make a mercy dash into town tomorrow morning. I also have loads of lovely dresses and no occasion to wear them apart from tomorrow when it will be too bloody cold.

Yes Mrs CB am fairly close by and would love to meet some of you.

Good for you Everything must aim to be more zen about things I have no control over, especially the weather.

Russianred · 04/05/2012 20:36

Our wedding also local-ish and both outdoorsy and child-friendly, so am thinking of the yellow dress with opaques and am undecided on footwear and cover-up. May need to go and have a bit of a try-on now. Think that your combo there is very lovely.

Hopefully · 04/05/2012 20:37

Amber lovely dress, can see you in it.

Everything hope you have hot water by now.

I am always watching Sweaty Betty stuff on ebay, they have done more spring/autumn colours in previous seasons. I have also just ordered a heart rate monitor and paid a fiver more for one in bronze and orange as opposed to black or white Blush. Wouldn't want to fail on the colours front just before training as an analyst! Grin

Who asked what the Insanity circuits are like? Marsha maybe? They're very different to Shred/Ripped etc as you work at maximum intensity (like, twice as hard as Jillian would have you go) for a couple of minutes (am too busy sweating to tell you exactly how long, but it can't be more than 3 mins I think), then take a 30 second break, then rinse and repeat. The warm up is hilarious, I find it harder than the actual work out! Things I like so far are the instructor's obsession with form over speed, reminding you to take breaks as required if you can't manage the intensity, and the count down clock that stays at the bottom of the screen displaying the overall time left and the time left in each interval. If any Jillian lovers are looking for something similar, she has just released something called Total Body Revolution, which is a 90 day programme with two 30 minute circuits every day (6 days a week) and I think they follow her usual 3-2-1 system.

I am eating hilarious quantities of food with all the exercise I am doing. I love not having to watch my diet so much! Makes all exercise worth it. Although am having to ingest vast quantities of protein to stave off muscle soreness, which limits things slightly. Refuse to drink those godawful protein shakes unless I really have to, so am egging, cottage cheesing and seeding at all possible opportunities.

What can I buy to wear on my legs now that will not be comically unsuitable when the weather warms up? Don't think I can face anything of the chino variety. Maybe more coloured skinnies, I miss my teal jbrands since shrinking out of them.

Russianred · 04/05/2012 20:37

And yes - new series of Mad Men the best yet I think; both clothes-wise and writing-wise. Have just watched Episode 5 (I think) and I was laughing for the vast majority of it. Hilarious.

suburbanstyle · 04/05/2012 20:50

Begins to wonder if is the same wedding as this one is also child friendly and the groom is a teacher...

Outfit is mainly about the coverup if I can miraculously find a better jacket tomorrow then can wear a more interesting dress.

Am having to restrain myself from getting my hair cut into a bob like Megan's she is so beautiful.

blossoming · 04/05/2012 20:53

I am really excited as DH has been very supportive and actually encouraged me to take two night off for the Dublin MU. Flights are only a little more expensive than trains, so it will be like going to London for me. He has been away since 5am yesterday, which means I have done breakfast to bath routine twice. He's probably feeling guilty!
We are still stuck on series 2 of Mad Men. But the rugby season has ended so we will need something to watch. He will not tolerate E! for much longer!

Can you believe I have literally never watched an episode of Mad Med? I keep hoping my vintage-obsessed sister will buy the box set so I can pinch it.

blossoming · 04/05/2012 20:56

Megan?
I bet you're both going to the same wedding suburban/red
BTW I love bobs. Think Debbie Harry, Claudia Winkleman, The Arquette sister in True Romance..
Someone on DM called bobs 'middle aged, frumpy' the other day. I so disagree!

Russianred · 04/05/2012 21:07

I was thinking the same thing Suburban, but, rather strangely for our crowd, this groom is not a teacher. That would have been hilarious though. Yes, Megan is gorgeous. I'd take her legs over her hair though... You're going to love her style when you get to 5 Bloss. Good for DH, Bloss. I really, really hope I can come. Hopefully our 1-3 are with a friend, otherwise I'd send them to you for viewing.

suburbanstyle · 04/05/2012 21:10

I love bobs too, but don't have the discipline to keep them looking nice.

Hopefully · 04/05/2012 21:12

I love my hair since I had it bobbed (longer at front than back, so very not-vintage. More Victoria Beckham than anything else, if we're being honest Blush). My hair is nice, so I always feel it 'ought' to be long (which would be great if I styled it every day), but actually I like it better short.

Hopefully · 04/05/2012 21:13

Thanks Red. DS2 would probably have chewed the box or something anyway Smile

suburbanstyle · 04/05/2012 21:17

Oh cross posts, that's a shame Red would have been hilarious and very awkward to explain away to other guests...

I sold my dvds on ebay which I regret because I would happily watch them all again.

rufus101 · 04/05/2012 21:18

So how does the Elle discount work? Does it work online? If so there will be a pair of pistols in my bag by tomorrow. Of course can't get out to get a magazine!
Great Mac Red, from what I know of you in virtual life, really you! (How can I possibly know that, but I feel I do)
Bloss that is great news about the MU! I knew that the cost differential with flights and trains, it would be about the same, and the accomodation looks like great value, so its the same as London really for those like you!
Told DH last night that some of my online fashion buddies were hoping to come over in November. He looked stunned. He knows that I post on some site/forum, and humours me, but I don't think he realises what a big part of my daily life this forum now is. He thinks I know Decam from college! I don't understand how we don't actually, as we know so many of the same people.
Suburban I like coloured opaques at this time of year, think they are great for transitioning.

Russianred · 04/05/2012 21:25

Rufus don't delay - the code is MC25 online. Know what you mean about impressions of those you know virtually - I have a picture of everyone that I assume is reliable.

rufus101 · 04/05/2012 21:35

ooh thanks Red! The site is so slugglish though and just crashed on me, so I'm not hopeful.

blossoming · 04/05/2012 21:49

I know what you mean rufus, although I have been softening DH up for over a year. He seems happier re me staying in Dublin though. Obviously does not know about past exploits! Flight slightly more expensive, hotels cheaper.

Decameron · 04/05/2012 22:19

Rufus, DH and my friends (and even my dad!) think we know each other from TCD too, in fact I often forget that we don't, so don't spill the beans! Only because they will think I am a weirdo and just won't get it. I tried to explain to DH when I first went to meet Bloss that it was like pen pals meeting up.

rufus101 · 04/05/2012 23:40

I know Decam! Met S on school run this morning and she said that you're home in June and I said "yes, I know, we must arrange something". I subsequently thought "if she only knew how we really know each other...." I just don't think most other people would get it!
Right. I'm off to try and get on the KG site. It's now or never.

rufus101 · 05/05/2012 00:18

Pistols ordered, in black. Now here's hoping that they are despatched. I remember previously ordering from KG and then getting email a few days later to say "out of stock". I am going to have to hid them under the bed until September. (well maybe August) Night, night!
