Happy Birthday Ants! That dress is so lovely and so you. Lovely bag too. Have you any plans for this evening?

Pickled pic on my profile for you - there is a 26 week bump there; VW really does hide a multitude of sins.

Ollie glad a bit of retail therapy has done the trick. Must check out these linen tees you're all talking about.

Icey thanks for the pointer - I fear I need to buy them now though - my feet are sodden! Your DH sounds like mine; very ambitious and one of the most amazing teachers I've ever seen in action.

Back later, mwah to all, because this weather is so hideous and we're all doing terribly well in the face of it.

AntPants1 · 26/04/2012 14:49

Lovely lovely picture of you with Nancy red. Have a friends 40th on friday night and going out for meal with DH on Saturday so lots do things to look forward to.

pickled if you look closely you will see a line of electric blue around the navy sponges so not too navy!! Grin

Hopefully · 26/04/2012 14:51

Ants happy birthday! that dress is beautiful. I'm not a big wearer of prints, but that is really gorgeous.

I have just consumed about four squares of millionaires shortbread and a caramel crispie cake. I'm such a great figure head for dieters worldwide Grin

Russianred · 26/04/2012 14:59

It's Isaac, Ants - Nancy is in the belly!

OllieinOrange · 26/04/2012 15:17

This Zara handbag would certainly cheer up a rainy day outfit - saw some today and the colours are gorgeous

Also liked these cheapy shopper bag too. here

Ants how lovely of your Mum. Love the dress, great print that won't date. And hadn't seen that bag either - may purchase a pink one for my sister's birthday present, just the sort of thing she loves.

Concert was v sweet. Kids seemedto enjoy it too.

Would you believe that there are very few paint testpots available over here. You literally have to buy a litre of paint if you want to test a non-white colour on a wall. So annoying - especially as the paint I chose for DS1s room which was supposed to be an exact match to the F&B Pavilion Blue is basically drying as white with a hint of green and just looks cold. I should have just waited for my sister to visit with the real thing. (Am wondering if DH would notice if I repainted it in a day when he is at work. Im thinking no....)

OllieinOrange · 26/04/2012 15:19

Ahhhh, what a lovely shot Red. Great hair too - which also applies to DS1.

Karbea · 26/04/2012 16:05

Red lovely picture!
Ants I love that dress, happy birthday!
Ollie I've been eyeing up those bags, slightly worried about the colour running in the rain, as a lady had one of the big shoppers in navy blue and was returning it as it had run colour all down her coat, i'd be mortified if that happened to my lovely coat!!!

ReineDeSaba · 26/04/2012 18:01

Happy Birthday ants ,what treats you got!

hope you had a lovely 'girls night out' dec your outfit sounded ace.

moma really good to have you back especially with that fab shoe link..I really don't think anyone is ever to old to retrain but childcare and costs can certainly make it very tricksy.also you will have a huge number of skills through medicine even if you don't have a wide range of qualifications..am not going to even attempt to say anything about the person who had a go at you on another thread..I would not be able to reign myself in!

looby I believe your DH is a hospital doctor so I'm guessing you've also had to follow his posts a bit.ambitious is such a funny thing anyway..it can be a fine line between that and pushy..is that your Dh's family?

surburban good luck with the article..both my brother and sis-in-law work in the meedja doing 'quality' stuff but some of the stories make me Hmm I think I would be happy to take the risk for a 'fun article' but if it was heavy e.g bereavement, money I would not be keen.

red you look gorgeous as ever in that piccie but after reading the thread you linked to I vow never to leave this thread again.

emo loved your oink..the Swiss certainly know how to do business.

ollie sorry you had a less than shiny day..you are so upbeat,it's hard to think of you low.

fritzi got DH to look for footfile in canary wharf but no joy I'm afraid.

annie make the most of a bed to yourself, you are a devoted mother and your girls will always take that safe place with them.

breton hope you took today a little easier.

blue I still haven't been to Bicester but have heard amazing things.

I am properly bushed,I have been yawning all day.DH not around much and working hard on business bits..am properly nervous of Pming everyone now because there will be a collective..oh is that it..will break into the cava first to make it easier!

ReineDeSaba · 26/04/2012 18:02

sorry for humungous post!

blossoming · 26/04/2012 18:37

Hi everyone. Gosh it's been wet here today.
Glad you got out last night decam. I did order the jumper. I'm now looking for an emerald green skirt and red shoes. Although I would settle for red shoes Grin. The toucan scarf won't work with it though I don't think. So probably need another scarf, maybe with fuchsia in it.
This, ladies, is why I went back to work!
ants, that dress is absolutely gorgeous and perfect for you. It is screaming for a 'ladies who lunch' occasion. Happy birthday to you!
red, your hair is divine in that photo, and your ds so cute. You are so brave with colours I always think. My wardrobe is so depressingly samey. Did I mention how bored I am of my winter clothes?
Going to get caught skiving by dh in a minute. Back later.

rufus101 · 26/04/2012 18:48

Well done Bloss that jumper is a good buy. Let me know if you locate the green skirt or similar.
Red you look beautiful in that photo. Amazing hair.
I am so Angry with my child minder. She managed to break the car key in the car lock, and have had to arrange for it to be towed (at least that was covered by the insurance) but to get the key replaced and taked out of the lock will cost an eye watering 170 euro. Jesus wept. I am fuming with her, particularly as she broke the front door key in the lock a few months ago, necessitating a lock smith to be called out. I am going out for dinner with old school friends, so it's good I'm going out; want to throttle her though. She is so bloody clumsy. Has managed to burn the kettle out, by leaving it on the hob, break God know how many plates, and cups, including one of a set of four, which can't be replaced. I have got to the stage, where I just say, "please don't use those plates/cups etc.

notyummy · 26/04/2012 19:16

LOVE the dress Ants - happy birthday.

Mad busy day today. Had one S and B moment when I was supposed to be Chairing a meeting about an 'iconic site development of national economic significance' (not my words Hmm) and the discussion about business rate discount and borrrowing against future income got SOOOOOO BORRIINNGG that I could only focus on whether the blue tights that I was wearing with my new Chintzi and Parker dress really worked with the mushroom coloured frock. Much more entertaining mental dilemma.....

Glad you are feeling better Ollie and not suprosed you are mad with the child minder Rufus!!

Russianred · 26/04/2012 19:23

Thank you ladies, was a good shot as the make-up was phenomenally bad - all round eighties eyeliner. I can't find the rest of the pics though, am going to have a good look tonight as there are the most gorgeous shots of a big-eyed, beaming DS clutching a pair of gold Louboutins that he took a shine to. Would like that one for my bedroom wall.

Bloss I remember a picture of you in a blue dress (possibly the one that you have vowed not to wear again) and the colour looked absolutely amazing on you . If you're not wearing that again, I think you should get something else in the same shade. Are you allowed teal?. My friend bought this when we were shopping a while ago and is a similar shape to you and looked wonderful in it. Also, your lovely twist neck dress is here at a very good price in burgundy.

Rufus I can completely understand how annoying that must be. She obviously has a knack for breaking keys in locks. How does one even do that; I'm very kack-handed, but have never managed that.

Reine cava sounds wonderful. Am going to get my prep done for next week and then enjoy a glass myself.

Russianred · 26/04/2012 19:31

If it has tickled your fancy Bloss, BONUS10 gets a further 10% off of the Whistles ASOS dress.

FritziGreenEyes · 26/04/2012 19:44

red What a great photo of you and DS! Sometimes I wish I had professional photos taken when DD was still little.

reine DH was in Canaray Wharf today and I almost asked him to pop into Boots. Just imagine an accidental mini MU of W&A husbands over a foot file in Boots Grin. I have one winging my way from another kind MNter from another thread though so my hoofs will be taken care of soon, phew.

On that note, I have just found out that DH will not only be on the last flight back but also has to do urgent phone calls as soon as the plane touches down. At least I don't have to wait up and will indulge in South African Chardonnay and pilot of Homeland. We are halfway into the second series of The Killing too.

Is anyone ordering from My Wardrobe with mrscb's fantastic code?

ants Hope you have a nice night out or in.

icey So good to hear from you. And well done your DH!

Oh, and I just wanted to share how energized I feel since taking Floradix again. I must have been really deficient in iron. Worth a try breton? Although no excuse for coming home at 11 after work and gym. Please look after yourself.

FritziGreenEyes · 26/04/2012 19:44

Right, date now with Damian. Want to join me notyummy? Wink

Russianred · 26/04/2012 19:49

Oh enjoy it Fritzi, it's amazing. Love Damian.

The thing with the My-Wardrobe code (thank you, by the way MrsCB), there's not really anything else I need/want/can afford but if you were to take it up to £200 in order to get the discount and then return the other thing, how would that work? Am trying to think it through and it is making my head hurt!

FritziGreenEyes · 26/04/2012 20:02

I am Homelanding too Fritzi! Last Sunday's episode. Damien is such a good actor. That's why I like watching him. Not because he is a bit of a dish. Oh no.

Totally do not get the Damian Lewis thing. It was the same with Kiefer Sutherland...

Rufus - god how annoying about the childminder. She must be incredibly strong??? A Mum from school had an live-in au pair last year who broke everything - bikes, chairs, you name it. She used to say that she did more damage than her two sons aged 8 and 12!
Decameron - glad you made it out last night. I felt your pain in the cafe today. Been there.
Karbea - Sad at the Zara bag running. Imagine that on a beige trench?!

Pickled did you ever link to the star scarf tho I think I should wean myself off buying anymore star things! Am in complete denial about looking for work - keep using not having an up to date CV as an excuse but i really should have made more effort. Will set myself a target of having some HR training, applying for volunteer work and new CV by September. There, Ive committed myself in print now.
Blue - have a lovely day at Bicester tomorrow. Hope you find one (or three) things you really love!

notyummy · 26/04/2012 20:26

I never got Kiefer. But Damien is different. And I don't usually rate men with red hair
