Wedge trainers - so a yes or no?

Since I have become obsessed with this blog have started to wonder about some wedge trainers - particularly these ones

So has anyone got them - do you wear them a lot? I like how they're styled with white skinnies and can envisage wearing them a fair bit . . .

Oooh - the balance swings back in favour . . .

I love them, and think they are a great in between shoe, especially in wet weather.

I am quite tempted by the lower pair

OllieinOrange · 20/04/2012 11:23

Have no fear MrsCB, the Ash ones are nothing like VB's bright white things.

OllieinOrange · 20/04/2012 11:26

I am [envious] at DMBL40's bag collection. Do you think she has one of those bag organisers so it easy for her to change the contents around? I always think it must be a bit of faff to change bags every day - but then dont own the wonderful bags she does!

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/04/2012 11:31

MIM its that height I like - its a pretty low wedge isn't it .. .

Maybe she is one of those women than manages a handbag with just keys, purse and a lipstick- then bag changing would be easy. Am very envious of those sorts of ladies having one shoulder higher than the other due to many years of lugging crap around in handbags

CHOOGIRL · 20/04/2012 13:38

MrsCB this thread has made me laugh so much. IIR Monkeysmama has the Ash Thelma. I think they will look fab on you.

NY I have been converted to the white jean by MrsCB and I have a much bigger derrier than you.

I too am addicted to DMBL40IT blog

BettyBathroom · 20/04/2012 13:56

VB has worn wedge trainers, she was the first person I saw wearing them - she refused to wear flats at a baseball game - she looked ridiculous.

Have you see these cool wedge trainers Gad!

Dauphin · 20/04/2012 14:08

I am obsessed with that blog too!

D'you know, I've been thinking about wedge trainers. ...The Ash ones are rather nice. But then, I am wearing pink Gap skinnies....

Dauphin · 20/04/2012 14:12

I like converse by the way (have done for many decades years), but a Colleen endorsement is catastrophic. Maybe they will pay her not to wear...

DialsMavis · 20/04/2012 14:29

Tulisa whateverherlastnameis wears wedge trainers similar to the Ash ones...

DialsMavis · 20/04/2012 14:33

I quite like the ones they have in River Island but they are more retroesque hi tops with a concealed wedge

MidnightinMoscow · 20/04/2012 15:24

Problem would be with what colour to choose though, I like the tan ones but also like the metallic ones too. They have some navy ones, but only in the higher wedge.

I think the lower hight is perfect for every day running around after DC type behaviour.

Please report back MrsCB. Are you going to go to an Ash store? The Marylebone store has a better selection than Kings road.

alwaysrunninginheels · 20/04/2012 16:48

If you go to a store can you report on the metallic grey ones. Do they look "good" vs "tinfoil" as i have been swithering over them. Also if you dont mind i would like to know if the thelma blue ones are a dark denim and do they look like they would last. Just if you have nothing else pressing to do........

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/04/2012 18:13

Will report back on sunday

I have become obsessed with looking at my rear view in the mirror (god why do I do this) and I am officially broad.

Do you know I've always thought I looked good in skinnies and yes I do but only from the front! I fear the addition of wedge trainers will tip me over the edge

OP posts:
MrsCampbellBlack · 20/04/2012 18:15

My thighs are also much wider than hers - perhaps she's just clever with the camera angles [deluded]

I am more Colleen I fear and will probably end up buying 8inch heels and a short wide skirted pink dress a la the DM today

OP posts:
alwaysrunninginheels · 20/04/2012 18:24

Are you saying Colleen is less than stylish? He he. Will look forward to hearing opinions.

ChablisLover · 20/04/2012 18:26

I'm a convert to the wedge trainer.

Have ash wedges and the flats - bought in the sale.

The sizes are a bit weird. I normally take a 6. But needed a 5 in the flats

They are v comfy.

Have just ordered the brown Asos ones too after this thread for the summer.

mrsebojones · 20/04/2012 18:29

Love the Ash wedges - but then I'm 5ft so anything that gives me a bit of extra height is great Wink Seriously tempted when payday comes round.

Also love the blog you linked to. This may be the blog to replace my WIT obsession

MrsCampbellBlack · 20/04/2012 18:33

My problem is I am 5ft and probably weight the same as blog lady so am realising what works on her does not work on me.

Oh if only Colleen blogged Wink

And if sizing is big then they'll defitely be no good as am a size 35 really.

OP posts:
ChablisLover · 20/04/2012 19:13

Mrscb - I found that the sizing on the wedges was fine. I tried both and the 5 was too small so ended up with the 6 (my normal size). The sizing on the flat trainers
Seems larger than normal so a 6 would have been huge!

drywhiteplease · 20/04/2012 19:49

God not only do I love VB 's baseball outfit for its awfulness but I love you all for making me feel normal!!!!!
ollie I remember so much crap, I'd love to engage in a high brow debate at dinner about the European monetary system or what not, but tbh VBs shoes and just s and b is so much more interesting and happy and superficial. Love it !Grin
and mrsCB I'm with you....although I am currently living in ballerinas (freezing feet) I am so much happier, feel so much thinner and more elegant in heels.

civilfawlty · 20/04/2012 19:59

NEVER. NEV-ER. N E V E R.

drywhiteplease · 20/04/2012 21:57

You know what......I may loose all S and B street cred.....but I actually prefer Coleen to Posh in some ways. (although I would kill for a VB dress)
I think it's sweet that we first saw her as a cuddly school girl in ankle socks and school uniform. She has a normal figure with hips and obviously works (has work) hard at staying slim. She makes horrendous fashion gaffes (love her Aintree outfits because she is so naff) over does the labels ,but occasionally scrubs up well, in an Audrey Hepburn way.

ChablisLover · 20/04/2012 22:11

I agree drywhite.

Colleen seems more real. Well as real as u can be married to Wayne with all that money etc etc. she is not super skinny - take note abbey Clancy. But real with boobs hips and a bum

However would kill for vb dress, her Hermes collection and would rather go to bed with David than Wayne!
