Have a fantastic holiday, NY (if you haven't set off yet).

Lovely to hear that things are going well, icey. DD spending more time with DH is a temporary thing as you need to be around to feed/ look after DS at the beginning. It all balances out after a while so don't worry.

Hope MIM and baby dong well.

amber- I really like those sandals too- v Spring like.

red/ blue- I'm after a Chambray shirt or possibly the IO chambray dress that I linked to before. There are lots of nice shirts on the JCrew website (thanks monimatrix) but they are on the expensive side and the delivery cost is a bit steep too. Pure collection also have a couple of nice looking shirts. Hopefully has one, I think, which I'm currently tempted by, having just received their catalogue. :)

decameron- lovely Farhi links. I quite liked the look of the Jigsaw shirt but don't like things too loose either (neither does DH- so predictable, eh?)

fritzi- I like the look of the Parka too and I'm quite bit older than amber!

ollie- you are really great at baking and always seem to put in the effort.

annie- would love to come along for wafts Summer meet up. Half term might be possible- it's the first week of June, isn't it? I will be huge though by that point so will have to be a tentative yes at present, especially as I'm not that near. By they way, were you asking about school trousers for slim girls a little way back? DD1 is v slim and I have bought hers at M&S. She is similar to your DD in terms of taste, I think. I bought her the Gap denim jacket. She is v into shorts/ skinny jeans, leggings (though I don't much like them) and eschews anything pink or too girly.

marsha- did we see a link to your lovely new bag?

fleecy- your outfit sounds great. Hope everything well with your three.

Waves at everyone else.

Do you know Hopefully I realised afterwards that I only did one buffet run at breakfast? Unheard of! I was enjoying the table chat too much and forgot to go back for seconds! My sister is bringing Ripped in 30 over when she vists. I need it.

OllieinOrange · 22/03/2012 22:14

Should have said that doing birthday treats for the class is a big thing here, it even has its own name - tratoria (or something like that) Next year Im sticking to grapes and marshmallows on sticks.

OllieinOrange · 22/03/2012 22:18

Last post from me, read that KMs coral jeans from last week were from Zara.

Ollie you really are something. Those cake pops are completely amazing. Agree that you should go into some kind of catering/party planning style thing - you have a knack for it.

NY have a wonderful, wonderful time away. Can't wait to hear all about it. Fingers crossed for an easy journey.

Annie I only hope the shirt fits - it says relaxed style and Gap do come up big, so fingers crossed. Will have a little look for the blog now.

DH and I have spent the last hour spending a lot of money online on bathroom stuff and furniture. I feel a little sick now.

Following the advice of Apuski I have just bought the Songbirds phonics series for DS, who is sounding stuff out and recognising letters. Am feeling quite excited about it as this is my area of expertise and, for once in my parenting career, I don't feel daunted.

Russianred · 22/03/2012 22:39

Ooh interesting Annie http://thesuburbanstyle.blogspot.co.uk/ this is the blog, I think that this lady could be one of us. Really.

Russianred · 22/03/2012 22:40

Here. Embarrassingly bad linking there.

ooh interesting blog - Think she's definitely been getting some tips from W&A. I must say I like her dark eye circles tips and might be trying some of those out.

Another big faraway tree fan here - one of my favourite books as a child (an avid reader too) - I knew there were kindred spirits on here in more ways than one!!

I'm sure ny is on her way across the world by now but happy travels and so glad your DD is feeling better!

Had a lovely night out with an old school friend so feeling happy but tired....weekend (for me) now though Smile.

Quite a nice chambray shirt in the WC sale but doesn't look that fitted...

AmberNectarine · 22/03/2012 23:33

I would genuinely be very interested to know how far reaching the effects of this thread are...

Safe journey NY - enjoy your adventure!

Red and Annie, you two are a pair to be reckoned with Grin.

Book group hosting for me this evening and I shamefully hadn't finished the book. Still, we had a lovely meal - Nigella's caramel croissant pudding for dessert - beats your silly cake balls any day Ollie.

Amber, Fritzi had some great white jeans on at the w/e.

Oh, btw my Marni haul arrived and is all going back - snap MrsCB!

suburbanstyle · 23/03/2012 06:28

argh outed!

Hi ladies, I am glad you like my blog.

I used to lurk on the W&A threads in the early days and then got stressed out because I could never afford any of the beautiful links. It's amazing to see you all still going now.

Happy you like the denim shirt. A good buy but strangely on the small side for Gap ie I didn't have to size up...

As you were...

MidnightinMoscow · 23/03/2012 07:07

Good mirn

MidnightinMoscow · 23/03/2012 07:12

Good morning.

If you see this, hope you have a wonderful trip NY.

I am still in hospital, a bit battered and bruised. Combination of a fast and furious labour, pushing for ages and then the very urgent EMCS. Not quite the calm birth I had in mind!

Having problems with feeding, she has a very strong suckle and wants to feed all the time, so you can imagine the consequences if that. Ouch, ouch, ouch!

Hope you are all ok, will post again when home.

blue2711 · 23/03/2012 07:18

I've just been looking at your blog suburban! Really good picks and tips. Particularly like the DP blouse. You should stick around on the thread - we don't all spend £££... most of my clothes come from topshop!

Have been meaning to say a big thank you to all those who have offered me advice and their old slings. I've often been reading in the blur of the night so now can't precisely recall or locate who or what! If you have got a sling you wouldn't mind lending could you pm me please? I didn't use one with DS and am bit unsure but would like to try. Thanks so much.

Hello to mim! Hope you and family are well and happy.

blue2711 · 23/03/2012 07:21

X posted mim. Sorry to hear it wasn't very calm but am sure you'll feel more like yourself very soon. Rest and be kind to yourself. Make sure you don't expect too much of yourself, sounds like you're coping marvellously. Hope the feeding gets easier really soon. Thinking of you.

AntPants1 · 23/03/2012 07:22

Yay. Good morning MIM!!! Lovely to hear from you. Sorry labour was traumatic. I am sure the feeding will settle down. Do you have nipple shields? I used them with DS whenever it all got a bit much and they got me over he hump...Medela medium were perfect for me

OllieinOrange · 23/03/2012 07:55

MiM lovely to hear from you but not so lovely to hear about sore bits and bobs. What did you call baby MiM - say on FB if you would prefer?

suburbanstyle great blog, i like a lot of your purchases. Yes to sticking around?

DS2 was loving all the birthday attention at school. Gets to sit on the birthday throne wearing his birthday hat etc. His face was a mixture of sheer pride and happiness. (His mother's was a mixture of tiredness and thank god the cake pop faff is over). Thanks for your lovely comments.

Quiet day at home for me today. Lovely.
