Not very inspiring- think the tiredness is showing!

Feel a train wreck at the moment. Have developed some sort of dry skin patches on eyelids, look like Im wearing red eyeshadow Sad. Hair seems very wirey too and desperately need my fringe back. And dont get me started on my lack of weight loss despite doing shred since mid Jan.

Tried this peter pan top on in Mango. Nice but not sure if I am over the pp collar thing despite only owning one! Thought it would look nice with navy skinnies tho? Or too young looking?

No idea re day and night time outfits for next WE. Have that whole hand luggage only dilema thing too which is a pain when it comes to thinking about coats ie do I get hot and sweaty running around during the day or freeze my arse off in the evening?

Good news is I have just met our new neighbours, they are expats, dont speak much Dutch but perfect English. And they like wine. I like them already, in fact, they may be my 2 new best friends!!!

OllieinOrange · 10/03/2012 15:18

Emo - surely you need a red dress on again? What about the wonderful Joseph one you got earlier in the year?

OllieinOrange · 10/03/2012 15:24

Everything i didnt know that about the sleeping thing. Interesting. When I look back, Im amazed I survived having a new born. Was literally sent home from the hospital with a book and a phone number. Health visitor came once and baby clinic was literally just for weighing. Didnt get any constructive advice til I moved over here when DS1 was 3 months. Wish Id been on MN back then.

OllieinOrange · 10/03/2012 15:25

Keep getting a bit freaked out when I see this thread popping up on the right of the screen under Most Active. Is that based on number of posts or views???

notyummy · 10/03/2012 15:27

Blue- don't be down. As everythingsays, there are reasons behind the recommendations re sleeping/feeding etc but you have got to work with what fits you as a family. Not that many people follow all the guidelines to the letter- they try there best. For example, but the time dd was a week old I was delirious through lack if sleep as I literally woke everytime she snuffled. So I moved her to her own room because I wasn't functioning anymore. I felt a bit guilty- but miles better physically, and it meant that I could carry on bf - up to 8 months eventually- where I think I would have cracked and used formula at night to allow dh to do it if I hadn't got more sleep. We beat ourselves up over the perfect birth/sleeping/feeding options when the reality is that we can't be perfect all the time- just do our best to look after our children safely. Hope you feel better soon.

Hope you are enjoying the rugby Bloss.

Wear jeans if you want Emo!

What time are we all meeting at the venue? I remember a discussion about getting there early to bag tables but that about it! Need to plan timetable for exercise/hair/makeup and prosecco Wink

Emo, I was thinking of wearing a black skirt and the GP finchley park top - how boring does that sound?

Ollie, are you dieting? Make sure you are getting enough vitamins, perhaps take a supplement for a week or two.

Can't wait for the w/e to see you both again Smile.

OllieinOrange · 10/03/2012 15:30

Yes I was wondering about timings for the MU too. What time did we get to the venue last time? Was it 6pm?

pickledsiblings · 10/03/2012 15:33

Are we eating somewhere this time first?

blue2711 · 10/03/2012 15:39

Thanks so much ny.

notyummy · 10/03/2012 15:42

I think eating at the venue (ie bar does lots snacky stuff.) plus snack in hotel room with aforementioned prosecco.

Hope you feel better soon Ollie.

I have used my Bare Minerals stuff again today so am feeling more put together than usual. Dh calls it my Blot Bang Rub routine (which is a military term for the actions you are supposed to take after a chemical warfare attack Hmm despite me telling him it is swirl tap buff (or whatever...)

Oh Blue - its so hard with the sleep deprivation. Not sure how you're feeding but for me the best thing I ever bought was a bedside cot so I could literally roll over - latch baby on in my half-asleep state. I think as well that after a few weeks you find that you end up in the same type of sleep pattern as the baby so you find you do that weird thing of wake a minute before they do for a feed. But I was never kept awake by baby snuffling and can imagine thats very trying.

And without sounding too mother hen like - are you eating enough and especially iron rich foods - so easy to get run down after a baby. Especially after all the immediate post-birth happy hormones wear off a bit.

I've never been able to nap in the day but perhaps your DH could take DD and DS out for a walk and you could just curl up in bed with a magazine or something.

Right now to click on Verity's links Smile

And good luck Icey and MIM.

Decameron · 10/03/2012 16:56

Blue, my DDs slept in our room for the reason Everything outlined but don't feel guilty, do what suits you best. A couple of my friends use Angelcare monitors, you could look into those if you want to put DD in her own room.

Marsha, I really like AH bags and my new Alexa, not sure if they are to your taste. Also love the Bottega Veneta woven bags, and all those Verity listed!

Well done Wales!

OllieinOrange · 10/03/2012 16:58

Just had a tryng on session from wardrobe and new MD top which I love. Emo - it would really suit you if you are in need of casula tops? Think you had some cobalt blue jeans last summer, would go well with those as well as navy or white jeans. Passes my Roxy test with flying colours. this one

Question for those of you with Aggies/NL/KG Sweep boots. Do you ever wear your jeans rolled up or cropped jeans so they sit on the top of the boot. Its a popular look over here. Just wondering if I will be laughed at adopting it on my trip over next week? Reason I ask is I tried my new boots on with my new tapered boyfriend jeans/chinos which are slightly cropped. Was thinking of wearing them with blue and white breton top, navy jersey blazer and scarf.

Decameron · 10/03/2012 17:04

That's a lovely top, Ollie, I may have to get it too! Hope you feel better.

Verity I was in TCD 1989-94 (went to Italy for a year before fourth year).

MarshaBrady · 10/03/2012 17:19

Ooh thank you Verity! When the children are out of the bath and in bed I'm going to look at those and take my time.

Decam thanks! I love Bottega Veneta woven ones too.

Will catch up properly in a mo.

OllieinOrange · 10/03/2012 17:19

Decameron its a great top - material is quite thick and has a slight texture to it. I like the zip feature too. I sized up to a large. Still quite fitted on arms and shoulders tho.

Was supposed to be folding laundry earlier when I had a my trying on session. Thats what DH thinks I was doing. Now got to explain or just hide the huge pile on laundry on our bed!

blossoming · 10/03/2012 17:33

Phew! Brilliant time, great seats close to pitch. Those players are massive!!
The italians bought some much needed style to the event. Gorgeous young men in front of us with lovely dark colouring looking delicious in navy blue. I had fun.
I feel like browsing Miu Miu now.
In traffic jam heading back up north. Gorgeous warm spring day here. Like a different climate!
Thinking of you icey.

blossoming · 10/03/2012 17:44

Still obsessing about scarves. I figure if I have a nice oversized silk one I can get away with wearing my £12 Johnnie B vest with my skinnies.

pickledsiblings · 10/03/2012 17:47

Here's WIT in her Marni haul. The brocade trousers look ace on her!

Well done on the rugby Bloss, glad you still had a good time despite the 'scuppering' Smile. V. impressed with your BR trench revamp idea btw.

Ollie, your outfit for next w/e sounds great! Can just imagine you resisting the urge to apprehend the frying pan pilferer - you crack me up Grin. Agree with Reine, get writing!

pickledsiblings · 10/03/2012 17:49

I am scarf browsing atm Bloss - what was your brief again?

pickledsiblings · 10/03/2012 17:54

Pickled - marni black sandals in size 3 are online again

OllieinOrange · 10/03/2012 18:01

Oo er, not sure why my post popped up twice.

Sounds like a great day Bloss glad you were able to go. Italian men in navy sound good too Smile

I feel fine in myself - just hair and skin thats gone a bit mad. Not dieting as such Pickled, just trying to be more sensible portion wise. Probably a good idea to get some vitamins in me.

Sequin skirt lovers, saw a great one in Zara - olive green. Also comes in blush colour. Will find a link.
