Decameron · 10/03/2012 08:07

Yes, good luck Icey! And to you too, Mim.

Portia4 · 10/03/2012 08:10

Morning All Smile

Belated happy birthday Verity hope that you had a great day.

Have thoroughly enjoyed all the Marni mania, I didn't get anything myself as I was tied up with work, but I am trying to buy for the lifestyle I live, rather than the lifestyle I think I live.Wink

Lovely skirt Emo, really fresh looking.

We went out for dinner with some old friends last night, had a really great night, and you know when you think why don't we see you more often as we always have so much fun? hmm...

I went shopping with DD2 yesterday and got some great spring buys, she returns to France on Tuesday and will be decked out in reds and camel and navy.

Amber hope that you are getting a much deserved lie in this morning.

Hopefully lots of big decisions to be made, I hope that it all works out ok. We lived in Norway for 3 years and DD1 was born there.

For those who aren't getting much sleep, I have developed a knack over the years of subtley nudging Dh when the Dcs wake up and pretending than I'm still asleep.Wink I have heard Dh say in company 'Oh portia used to be such a light sleeper, but would sleep through anything now!'

Bloss I have a royal blue Burberry 'Mac in a Sack', it's a bit longer than the one you linked to but very useful. The one criticism I would have is that the buckles and buttons are metal and very heavy and tend to knock off things.

Hello to the mums to be, 'hope that you get some action today! I was two weeks overdue with all 3 Dcs.

OllieinOrange · 10/03/2012 08:12

Yes, good luck today Icey. Will be thinking of you. Text me if any news and you cant post on here - can you imagine DHs face if mins after baby being born, you say, "can you hold the baby, I need to Mumsnet"? Smile

Ants hope your head is ok this morning.

Quiet day here today - trip to the local market, DS2 has a swimming lesson and I need to collect my stripy MD top from in store.

IceCreamCastles · 10/03/2012 08:21

Ha ha ants Grin. Glad you had fun and at least one member of the thread left the house last night!

Read the H&M thread like this --> Shock. Please can we make our next thread title 'wise and avid: a place to harp on about our recent purchases'?

Lovely skirt emo. V springy.

Love that jacket bloss. Not at all mumsy as long as you don't call it an anorak again Wink

Hope you're feeling better today Amber. Dvd was good plan.

Well, today's the day. Got to phone up in a while to check there's space for me and and then they'll start things off. Bit sad that I didn't get to do it naturally but realise it doesn't matter in the grand scheme of things.

Dd very excited about the baby's 'birthday'. She wants to make a cake for it and thinks we should have a party with blowers. I'm trying to persuade her otherwise Grin

MarshaBrady · 10/03/2012 08:26

Oh my goodness Icey how exciting. What a big day. Big big good luck, lots of lovely thoughts from here.

Decam which ones do you like?

Mominatrix · 10/03/2012 08:40

Well, I skipped Marnimania. Not only are the patterns challenging, but look ridiculous on someone with my petite stature. Zara, well that's another story. I ended up leaving with blazer, these shorts, this jumper, these shoes, and these shoes, and a pair of floral skinny jean which I can't find on their website.

I topped it off with a stop by the MAC store and a purchase of blue-green and orange nail varnish.

All of these floral and colourful purchases just indicate my fed-up state with grey winter weather. I am ready for spring!

Hopefully · 10/03/2012 08:41

Exciting Icey! Best of luck, hope it is all quick and reasonably painless.

Off to Brighton in a moment or fabric and clothes shopping, hurrah!

Icey, good luck!!

VerityBrulee · 10/03/2012 08:47

Oh icey how exciting, lots of luck to you Smile

decam you were still in school when I was in Trinity Blush

marsha we need to find you a bag!
What are your criteria?

ants hope the head's not feeling to bad today Smile

portia so wise to shop for your actual lifestyle, that is my problem, I shop for the lifestyle I have in my dreams! Hence lots of barely worn clothes Grin

bloss hope you still have a lovely day and dd is on the mend

emo lovely skirt, I love navy lace. There's a lovely lace dress in whistles and the grazia discount still works I think.

olllie love the sound of a quiet day, dh away for the weekend and all 3 dc have to be in different places at the same time this afternoonConfused

Portia4 · 10/03/2012 08:52

Lots of luck today Icey - I don't know, but your DD might be on to something, blowers and party poppers might speed things up a bit! Mim you might be able to get yourself some in WaitroseWink

Moma I really like that blazer and jumper, well wear.

blue2711 · 10/03/2012 09:16

Good luck icey. Really hope that all goes well. So exciting!

Great purchases mominatrix! Like the sound of a floral skinny jean too.

Well I managed my quick trip into town yesterday and got some good basics for SS, all of which were on my list. V wise. Got soft white shirt from GAP that looks great tucked into my CE leopards, and a grey marl t shirt in the sale. Then pink neon Jamies and red Jamies reduced in TS. Had to stop myself getting dusky pink leighs too... That would be THREE pairs of pink jeans (albeit of different shades) in my wardrobe Blush. There were lots of other colours but I couldn't quite see myself wearing them in the way that I can the pink! Annoyingly, TS have put different coloured turnups on lots of the Leighs, green turnups on the cobalt blue, for example, which put me off.

Also broke my vow and bought yet another cotton striped top from Jigsaw, in yes, you've guessed it, bright pink and white. More Blush. Won't wear it with the pink jeans I promise but with grey (which I haven't bought yet, obviously!) no links as all just boring buys but am pleased.

Sorry for lack of responses to others, hello to all. Seriously exhausted now, the nights are catching up on me. Thinking of putting DD in her own room (doors open and monitor on obviously) as she is just so noisy I'm barely sleeping at all. Probably a complete mumsnet no no!

OllieinOrange · 10/03/2012 09:50

Blue both DSs were in their own rooms by week 4. I didnt think anything of it! But yes door was open and monitor on.

OllieinOrange · 10/03/2012 09:52

Lovely sounding purchases by the way.

ReineDeSaba · 10/03/2012 09:55

Good luck icey enjoy meeting your new baby Smile

ants hope you haven't irrevocably damaged yourself the week before the meet up Wink

realised 'name of the rose' didn't have keanu..it was Christian Slater..how did I get that wrong.

ollie you are a brilliant storyteller..you must blog..will hassle you over it at meet-up Grin

portia you have come up with the next thread title me-thinks..buying for the life you lead(not the imaginary one without chocolatey children and crawling around on the floor..ahem)

bloss I was a bit nervous about opening your 'anorak' link(I am a child of the 70s!)and was worried it would be 'gopping' Wink to mrscb on h and m thread but it is definitely classic and dramatic.

emo gorgeous skirt..is it the same as the one yummy wore to meet up?

rufus I was totally bemused by the 7up thing,I thought it was the game!

stands up next to hopefully in the manner of Kirk Douglas in 'Spartacus' ...'No I am the most self-centred poster on this thread' honestly I'm so pathetic with my fringe/dinner party obsession..I am a dentist(not working at mo)so please speak to me at meet-up if you want to(beforeIgettootipsy)I think you need to speak to your dentist as your first port of call to get his take and go from there..you have only seen him for 2 years so it may have been a longerstanding issue, previously untreated?though slightly weird that he was dismissive of you seeing a hygienist?

mim you are made of strong stuff..10 months pregnant/saturday a.m/waitrose shop!

marsha I am trying to build my outfit from the shoes up since realise will most likely be tights weather and what I really want to wear will not look right with tights Sad

ReineDeSaba · 10/03/2012 09:56

hello blue Smile

ReineDeSaba · 10/03/2012 10:00

red my DH used to work for record labels so is obsessed with gigs..he asked me about Kraftwerk this morning and we still haven't tied my brother down for the other 2 gigs we're planning on going to.I on the other hand am happiest at a sit down event Blush

notyummy · 10/03/2012 12:12

Emo- that skirt is a dead ringer for mine (but mine from Zara) do obviously I think it is lovely Grin

Good luck Icey!

Got visitors over at the mo- looking forward to opening the wine later! Starting to stress (v slightly ) over MU outfit and the tights/no tights dilemma. Or I could wear trousers but not sure that I like any of my tops enough.

Anyway- have great weekends all!

I am in the stadium. Italians very smart in moncler.

Emo76 · 10/03/2012 14:59

nice work ants building stamina for next week!

icey so excited for you all - hope all goes smoothly, can't wait to hear your news!

just had lunch at Sticky Fingers the Bill Wyman place, let's just say my run this morning has been undone...

wearing quite a boring outfit today - black Majors, grey long sleeved t, sable/green blochs and didrkissons parka on top. I love clothes but find it much harder to be "put together" casual, I think scarves may be the answer so loving the links!

pickledsiblings · 10/03/2012 15:05

They are probably thinking 'what's with the chick in the black biker and 50:50s, she can't be Welsh Grin'. Glad you made it to the match, hope the score goes your way so that you get to celebrate later Wink.

Icey, can't wait to hear your news...

pickledsiblings · 10/03/2012 15:07

Emo, what are you wearing to the MU?

Emo76 · 10/03/2012 15:11

pickled I don't know!! I love wearing jeans out with smarter tops/accessories but feel I should wear a dress. Must give it some thought. You?

bloss am watching the rugby, Dd2 napping in cot and DH snoring on sofa (he did the early shift today, v grateful). DD1 keen to go for bike ride and it's a lovely sunny afternoon here in London so apart from lugging the bikes up from the cellar a great idea!

blue2711 · 10/03/2012 15:15

Oh, didn't know that, everything. One more thing to worry and feel guilty about. Bit wobbly today.

Love the thought of you at the rugby looking amazing bloss. Hope DD is better.

I agree scarves (and handbags!) elevate fairly ordinary casual outfits emo
