Not very inspiring- think the tiredness is showing!

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 18/03/2012 20:05

I do feel tired. But I think it's going out two nights in a row that did it!

Amazing that you are home already Ollie.

MarshaBrady · 18/03/2012 20:06

It should do, I think. (re stains)

blossoming · 18/03/2012 20:09

Try gently rubbing some fairy liquid into the stains before washing ollie. It might come out if it's a food stain.
DH didn't believe me that the coat was new! It probably is quite a good cross between the aigle and my old m&s one.

Emo76 · 18/03/2012 20:36

everything I LOVED your DP dress. Have ordered, style stalker that I am! Someone was saying something about a dress in DP cut like Anglomania weren't they - any clues?

icey I love that you got a call! Hope DS doing well.

blossoming · 18/03/2012 20:40

I really like these jeans. Anyone know anything about Vince?

notyummy · 18/03/2012 20:40

Am flagging ladies. Glued to sofa after a day filled with too much food. Had a lovely lunch out with DH and Dd and then met friends at local park to see brand new gorgeous baby. Got Mothers Day pressies of book and BB cream that was recommended on a thread on here that DH used for research!!

Sweet quote of the day from dd:

'Daddy, when you fell in love with mummy, did it feel like Christmas inside you?'
Smile

Thanks for the compliments btw ladies. Very kind. Not quite what is looking back at me in the mirror at the moment though Grin. Self- inflicted....

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 18/03/2012 20:47

bloss I'm a big fan of Vince, buy all my basic Ts and vests from there (in sales/from shopbop as £60-£90 a pop in Harvey Nics) Have never tried jeans, but if they wash and wear as well as th basics you're on to a winner.

notyummy · 18/03/2012 20:48

Emo- This is the DP VWA a like. Also in standard length. Fab dress. I have worn it to work over long sleeved navy tee with opaques and jacket, but you could do for evening with stilettos and bare arms and legs.

OP posts:
notyummy · 18/03/2012 20:53

See, I blame you Emo, for making me look at the site. Now I quite fancy this... Grin

Thanks amber.

That's really cute, NY.

Glad you all had fun.

DD1 told me today that she liked me but Daddy is her hero. I was underwhelmed. Wink

Nice jeans, Bloss, I have a Vince blazer, jumper and trousers, all a great fit/quality.

That My-W discount didn't work for me so I signed up to do a survey then sat back and waited for an email to arrive with the discount, but nada.

Just sold a bag on eBay (yes, fickle is my middle name, Pickled!) so looking forward to spending the proceeds next week.

Decameron · 18/03/2012 21:30

Lovely scarf, Mim, I have my eye on that too.

ApuskiMcClusky · 18/03/2012 21:37

Evening! Glad to hear everyone's back safely.

I am still gently nursing my hangover, feeling much better after eating DH's lovely cassoulet. And red managed to distract me from my queasiness on the way home!

A great night though, worth the pain today! Missed my boys though, was lovely to see them when I got back.

blue2711 · 19/03/2012 03:42

MU sounds fabulous; really enjoyed ny's round up (love the way you write!). So pleased you all had a great time. Was particularly pleased that amber made it. Outfits sound super glam and stylish. Rally hope I can make the next.

Sorry for minimal and poor posting at the moment. Hectic and tiring times! We had DH's father and second family staying this weekend (much younger second wife and 8yo son) so it was full on. I endured it rather than enjoyed it! Not very good at noisy chaotic occasions when feeling exhausted. DH and DS loved it though and DH was a star, doing most of the cooking and clearing up. They left this morning and we've had a lovely day with a visit from my DM, a trip to a great pub and supper at SiL's.

Can't believe DD is already 1 month old, it's gone so fast although already it feels that she has been a part of our family forever.

Have been spending v little which means a big splurge may be imminent... The Sam endelman leopard flats, possibly the Anton heunis (sp?) earrings and some white skinnies (not located yet) are all calling loudly to me. Any found any good white skinnies by the way? Mrscb??

Still thinking of you mim - almost there.

Mominatrix · 19/03/2012 06:48

I had a fabulous time at the MU, and really enjoyed chatting to many of you and the outfits were as gorgeous as the ladies wearing them.

'Twas a painful morning yesterday as DS1 had an away rugby tournament and hour away from home. Thank goodness I could hide my bleary eyes with sunglasses. Really looking forward to the next one.

I'm honoured to be the forum's Wendy - but I have to confess that I don't know who Wendy is.

Nothing poor or minimal about your post, blue. Entertaining that many guests is difficult under normal circumstances, and Herculaen when one has a newborn and are sleep deprived.

Love the dress notyummy. Agree that it is very versatile.

ollie: I third the diary liquid rub in on the stains prior to washing. I have an old soft toothbrush which I have for these sorts of jobs, and it has been successful in getting out most stains (indian curry being one of the exceptions, but I think that these stains are pretty much indelible!).

I'm picking up my Prada dress today and I will ignore SA's hard sell tactics to buy more things from the store. I am now officially banned from spending anything until summer.

pickledsiblings · 19/03/2012 07:04

Wendy = fashion crush of many on this thread.

MrsCampbellBlack · 19/03/2012 07:27

White skinnies you say Wink

Well I have the j brand 811's and mih paris - the latter being more of a slim than skinny cut. But both very comfy. I used to wear baxters but just don't fine them as comfortable really.

Glad you all had a lovely time on Saturday.

Sun is shining here . . .

MidnightinMoscow · 19/03/2012 07:36

Grin at the White skinny alert for MrsCB.

Like the colour of those Vince jeans Bloss.

Well, this is my last day of trying to have this baby. Have decided to have a positive, calm day. A few hours in town, with a coffee and a magazine.

Going to get the infamous White Company 'Section' trousers tomorrow after my appointment too. Seems odd, I am far more nervous knowing I am going to have a section. At least with DS I had no time to worry about it! Ignorance can be bliss!!

OllieinOrange · 19/03/2012 08:01

MiM try to take heart that most ladies on this thread who had a planned C section have had 'good' experiences. A postive calm day sounds good. Lovely that DH got you the scarf you have been .

Mom I didn't realise you didnt know who Wendy was. You must have thought we were all mad when we were all shrieking "you're Wendy' on Saturday. I wish I could rock leather leggings like you (and Wendy) can. Enjoy your Prada. Lady on the flight home was flicking through Vogue and stopped at a Prada ad - it was a dress similar to the one you are getting. I was so tempted to nudge her and say "I know someone who's got one of those"

Calling Emo and Ants - I saw a lady trying this navy dress on in M&S here and thought of you two as a possible work dress as she looked fab in it. Watch the video as pics dont do it justice. Went and had a nose - bottom half is made from thick ponte jersey and top is a silky cotton. If I had a job, Id get one - not many on website but lots on Marble Arch.

Ants Im going to make you a list of little treats you must indulge in on your stay-at-home-holiday, top of which is MN with me during the day Smile

M&S also have a great looking navy parka in a similar style of Bloss's gorgeous new one - not on website but had 3/4 length sleeves you could roll down, funnel shaped neck with a hood inside it.

DH put a new saddle on my bike over the WE, its an instrument of torture and will have to go. Whoever designed it was obviously not a woman. Its got bumps where there should not be bumps. Ouch.

OllieinOrange · 19/03/2012 08:11

There was a brochure for Tegan in my Red magazine - some lovely, lovely pieces on their website.

Am quite tempted by this dress here - like the zip on the shoulder, the colour and the pleating detail. Some lovely tops on there too.

OllieinOrange · 19/03/2012 08:12

Not for me but how pretty is this yellow sumer dress here

FritziGreenEyes · 19/03/2012 08:27

mim Wishing you all the best for whatever may or may not happen today. Very thoughtful of your DH to get you the scarf for Mother's Day

I loved the MU even more than the last ones. Sorry if I didn't get round to talk to everyone. MUs for me are like a live thread going at 200 mph and having a conversation after two glasses of wine is sometimes a bit of a challenge for me as a non-native speaker. Blush

I also wanted to thank my fashion fairies red and ollie: I couldn't decide between the gorgeous sparkly Joseph jumper and my new grey Me&Em this morning. Wearing the jumper now as it is still quite chilly here. Me&Em tomorrow Smile

Portia4 · 19/03/2012 08:35

Ladies, it sounds like you all had a wonderful MU, I've really enjoyed reading the reportsSmile, hope the heads are all ok this morning.

Today is a bank holiday here, yeah!

Mim enjoy today, I'm sure that your CS will be fine and to think within 48 hours you'll be holding a beautiful baby Smile.

Dh, Dd3 and I did a 3 hour hike yesterday which was very enjoyable, and in fairness to Dd3 she managed to keep up and didn't ask once if we were nearly there yet!
