Not very inspiring- think the tiredness is showing!

At the risk of being on the receiving end of a collective W&A groan and much eye rolling (if DH's reaction was anything to go by), I've done a complete U turn and will now be in black skinnies (shortened to ankle length), steel grey Mint Velvet silk top and a black boucle cropped jacket with 3/4 lenth sleeves. Patent courts on feet and grey box clutch.
Someone very wise (Frizti) recommended I should wear what I would wear if I were out in London with DH. I like the way I feel in this outfit so whilst its not the most stylish or smartist of outfits, Im going with it .

What a relief. Can enjoy my prosecco (stamina building for tomorrow) and pizza now.

Have packed 6 To Do books, my Bloss top for Bloss, and the Me and Em dresses to post back to take advantage of free returns from UK (it was going to cost an obscene amount from over here due to weight of dresses!).

Back later.

OllieinOrange · 16/03/2012 19:36

Is the weather forecast that bad? Wont get away with a blazer during the day will I?

FritziGreenEyes · 16/03/2012 19:38

Don't forget to pack the cheese wheel , ollie Wink

Decameron · 16/03/2012 19:39

Maybe add a scarf, Ollie!

Bloss, lovely jacket.

Hopefully, are you still on the hunt for a leather jacket?

Weather looks like it is improving during the day though - should be dryer and less breezy by the time we are venturing out for the wine and frolics.

Just text me tomorrow hotel ladies re sharing taxis/having a glass of bubbles before the off. Think most of you have my no, but PM me if not.

I think I'm wearing trench, cashmere beret till I get to the hairdressers, oversized pashmina and 50/50s for day: room for scarf and beret in my old trusty handbag (straps still need straightening girls!)
Will wear roxy for evening. And need to buy brolly.
Must remember my clutch too.
Inspired by fle my nails have been done. So I hope hair, make up and nails will detract from rather uninspired outfit. Hope I don't have to rely on my wit and conversation..
You will look amazing ollie. Don't think I've seen you in jeans?

Hopefully · 16/03/2012 20:00

Humph, stupid weather. I have no weather appropriate boots that I can wear (have realised that my heavy country boots give me mild sciatic pain if I wear them for too much walking). I also don't own a waterproof coat. Or an umbrella. In fact, the dire state of my wardrobe is faintly amusing Hmm. Maybe I'll just indulge in taxis. And possibly purchase some weather appropriate stuff.

Decameron beautiful jacket, but probably a bit dainty for me, sadly.

MIM glad you are feeling nicely zen, hope the relaxing brings on some good labouring hormones.

My god, I'm looking forward to a weekend away from DH. In a loving, wifely way. He is so fantastically stressed beyond all belief about the job situation we're facing. He has this permanent attitude of barely contained rage at the moment, and it is very tiresome.

OllieinOrange · 16/03/2012 20:06

Bloss I was going with the 'stun them with my wit' etc approach too! (Im doomed)

I brought a brolly today - went with one that matched my swatches: navy with a grey print.

Fritzi may pick up a few cheesey nibbles to bring at the airport! Ay requests?

Ive got too little devils sitting on my shoulders, one saying watch, one saying handbag. Cant have both. What to do.

Emo76 · 16/03/2012 20:09

just wanted to post MIM I am thinking of you!

Portia just re read your post. I didnt realise the man was also an intruder (misread it first time) how awful for you to be in - situation like that. Id phone the police to report it. Maybe they know the two of them already?

MiM you sound completely chilled now. Im convinced something will happen over the weekend too.

Rufus Would love a Dublin MU. Never been there but have always wanted too.

Have to leave the house at 6.30am tomorrow morning. Im hoping Laura Mercier can work their magic!

Russianred · 16/03/2012 20:28

I think handbag for now Ollie - a decent handbag that is stylish whilst practical is more of a pressing concern for now (but, I have never worn a watch, so don't really understand why anyone would spend money on one - am more than aware I'm in the complete minority here!).

Bloss I'm having a wardrobe crisis with all is talk of rain and might wear my 50/50s, as long as that is ok? I will keep my legs well hidden under the table.

Russianred · 16/03/2012 20:29

And also, bloody hell Portia that sounds horrendous - have you phoned the police to make them aware of what has gone on?

Portia4 · 16/03/2012 20:45

Evening Ladies, thank you for your concern. When I got home last night Dh got me to call the police. Funnily enough I used to always think that if I heard an intruder that I would hide, now I know that I'm made of tougher stuff! - not that I wanted to test myself!

Lots of nice outfits being put together, Ollie I think that you should go for the bag and eBay the other one, there's nothing like immediate gratification!

I really like that dress Mrs CB

Hopefully · 16/03/2012 20:57

It strikes me that possibly attempting Ripped Level 2 the day before needing to look poised and elegant was ill-thought-out. I suspect I may ache tomorrow and be basically unable to move. Good to have a proper hard workout again though, am too used to Shred.

Red I also don't wear a watch. Apparently it says negative things about how we value time. I am a bit Hmm about that but can see how it might be e case in a professional environment.

Have somehow written a long shopping list for tomorrow, including a stop at Bravissimo for a bikini I fancy (for that exotic holiday we have planned this summer to Dartmouth). Must remember to phone in the morning and check they have it in stock.

Bloss you sound v glamorous for tomorrow, will be too in awe of the 5050s to notice wite and conversation Wink

blossoming · 16/03/2012 21:17

red we could wear the exact same outfit and look completely different as you know! I am very Envy of your youth and beauty.
Bad move hopefully! I am really looking forward to meeting you and mominatrix too.
0630 start for me too ollie.

loobylu3 · 16/03/2012 21:18

Hope you all have a lovely, lovely time at the MU. Outfits sound super stylish!

MIM- I'm so pleased that you are feeling peaceful and relaxed about the birth now. It sounds as if it is a good time for the baby to arrive now as you have had the time to rest and feel physically better. Looking forward to hearing your good news.

Not sure that my weekend is going to be super relaxing as DH, having just finished one major piece of work, has just announced that he has been asked to write a review for The Lancet, due in 6 weeks time. He can't really say no as it is such a good opportunity but the hours of work and stress to pay level is not at all good!
Still, I'm feeling less exhausted and more positive than I was last weekend so I'm sure we'll be fine!

Thinking of you mim. Hope all goes well x

Lovely to hear you're doing well icey.

Am in awe of your bravery portia and your energy mrscb. When DH goes away I lie on the sofa as much as possible!

FritziGreenEyes · 17/03/2012 06:34

At the airport, wohoo Smile

Hopefully · 17/03/2012 06:43

Morning! Am suitably stiff after Shred last night.

Just found out my step sister had a baby girl in the night, which is a nice way to start the weekend. Smile
