Not very inspiring- think the tiredness is showing!

Crikey Portia- no wonder you feel a bit edgy.

Have just been to Mothers Day lunch at school, which i thought was a nice idea. Dd beyond excited at me being able to make it (in fact rather over excited-I had to have 'words' at one point...) Wore Oasis anchor print tea dress, opaques and flat black worker boots. And trench.

Have finally got round to reading last weeks Grazia and have decided that I would like a pair of Supergas for summer. Not sure what colour yet though. Bit gutted to see that the weather in Melbourne isn't great at the moment. It had best buck up soon!! We will a couple of jumpers and a cagoul each so should be prepared for anything. Have been assured that weather on the Sunshine coast is reliable. Fingers crossed...

No trains from Euston tonight, DH struggling to find a way home. Hope things change by morning or won't make MU.

blossoming · 16/03/2012 15:38

Just saw your post portia. How terrifying. Will miss you tomorrow.
Thanks verity, head is better today. Have had a crap week health wise and done v little excercise. Just got a cough now. Dosing up on Covonia - great stuff!

notyummy · 16/03/2012 15:42

What a pain Bloss!! Can he go from Paddington to Birmingham New Street and then across? Or that is that all wrong?

OP posts:
blossoming · 16/03/2012 16:14

I think he's trying to go paddington reading woverhampton chester. So crap though. He left at 5 am, and was hoping to be back early, before dcs went to bed, and especially as I'm away this weekend. Now he will be stressed and tired and annoyed that I'm away. Person under a train in Hemel Hempstead apparently.

AmberNectarine · 16/03/2012 16:16

Obviously you have to be in a very dark place to commit suicide, but if that day ever came I'd like to think I'd be considerate enough not to bugger up everyone's weekend...

Hopefully · 16/03/2012 16:16

Nightmare Bloss! Hope it's all sorted by tomorrow.

Portia how scary! No wonder you're a bit edgy today.

Just had a nice play date at a friends but totally succumbed to the temptation of M&S oat berry clusters on offer and ate approximately 5,000 of them. May be packing the Spanx tomorrow! Which reminds me, need to have an outfit trying on tonight and pack.

Hopefully · 16/03/2012 16:18

Amber I always think that when people jump under trains. And of the poor clean up crews Sad

notyummy · 16/03/2012 16:51

Am currently hosting a playdate. This is a good thing in most ways, as this is the little girl that I was stressing about last month thinking her mother was ignoring my overtures....when it became apparent that she had got the note I sent and been texting me but had put my number wrong into her phone. She had also invited DD to her DDs birthday party but DD promptly lost the invite without telling me....so the mother thought I was ignoring her attempts as well! Anyway, we finally managed to have a chat one day on the rare occasions I make an appearance at the school gate and she was only to happy to let her come over on a playdate. I picked both of them up today and they are currently trashing the house before having tea (plain pasta only apparently, requested by both girls Hmm At least it's easy!) Only one bout of tears thus far and they are currently playing with the play dough having read unicorn books and danced to Abba in DDs room.

Am hiding and letting them play unhindered from adult interruptions and develop their own creativity (which is code for 'I would rather answer work emails and occasionally look interested when they come and tell me things.')

Jeepers Portia. Did you contact the guards? I would've been so freaked out by that.
Decam sorry to hear you're having a bad day. Some wine tonight? Sorry to hear you're staying there, was hoping you'd be back to your stomping ground. I'd find it so difficult to stay home. DH would be better at it than me. I too am amused the way DHs can justify throwing money at a problem when they've had a real taste of the challenges!
Very envious of the MU people, I think you should come to Dublin on a MU! You're all travelling a good distance anyway!
Ollie have read all of those books except the imaginary friend one. All excellent. Owen Meaney is one of my all time favourite books.

rufus101 · 16/03/2012 17:36

Hope DH gets home Bloss.

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/03/2012 17:46

R4 did a great adaptation of Owen Meaney a couple of years back - was wonderful.

Portia - do you have a dog who can bark loudly at any stray people - very frightening.

like the look of this navey dress for summer

DH goes on his annual cycling holiday on sunday. Yes on mother's day - I have his parents for lunch and then he goes of on holiday at 2pm. But middle child has made me a lovely necklace of pasta so all is not lost Wink

I am planning on painting our hall, stairs and landing whilst he's away as a surprise for when he returns. How far do you think I'll get? Have stripped pretty much all of the wallpaper just need to prep walls and paint Hmm

pickledsiblings · 16/03/2012 17:48

Hello Lovelies Smile

Not long now...

NY, glad you managed to get a playdate sorted out - Mothers' Day lunch sounded like fun too. DS2 tends to get a bit carried away when I turn up at school during the day so I tend not to bother much.

Bloss, what a pita for your DH. I'm sure it will be sorted by tomorrow.

Red, I've decided to wear a cream lace top tomorrow (I think) and perhaps the white shirt on Sunday to freshen me up a bit. It's all about the daytime outfits this time.

Have bought some gel inserts for my boots to save me from foot burn - ouch!

MiM, I predict that you will have your baby whilst we are in the cave - we'll be able to toast you both there and then. You have done so well throughout this pregnancy MiM, I can't wait for you to be snuggled up on your sofa with DS and your little bundle of joy.

[Off to try on evening outfit now (GP top and black Miu Miu-esque skirt) before doing an hour of Maths tutoring - back later]

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/03/2012 17:50

Excuse spelling

Bonsoir · 16/03/2012 17:51

MrsCampbellBlack - did I read you right? You are planning to redecorate this weekend while you DH is off doing his own thing and you have three children to take care of on your own?

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/03/2012 17:54

Well the children are keen to help [gulps]

And I'm only going to paint it all white as no point doing F&B until upstairs bathroom has been ripped out and further electricl works done but I just couldn't live with the hideous brown wallpaper any longer.

Bonsoir · 16/03/2012 17:57

You are very, very courageous Smile

blossoming · 16/03/2012 18:08

I can't live with ugly things either mrscb. Bought a new carpet for our previous home in the lounge, when we were only going to be there 6 months. Well it was orange, and my 3 piece was dove grey.

mim, who can you text to announce arrival?

MidnightinMoscow · 16/03/2012 18:14

Thanks for all your nice words.

Have had a lovely day today - I feel totally at peace with my situation now and it is very comforting. If the baby gets here in the next few days, great. If not, so be it. Have relaxed all day, read, snoozed etc. Heaven.

Just had a sobering conversation at DS's nursery though, this will be the last weekend we only have one child. Gulp!

Brave, but what a lovely surprise MrsCB for DH. I am sure the DC's will have lots of fun. Agreed with your earlier observations re Whistles prices, they have had a sudden hike of late.

Bloss Hope DH is home soon and your journey tomorrow is ok.

If anyone want's to PM me their mobile number, I'll send a text to them with any exciting news!

GeorginaWorsley · 16/03/2012 18:37

I am impressed by your industry,MrsCB
I used to be like that but age has made me progressively lazier.

blossoming · 16/03/2012 18:47

Have pm'd you mim, and roomy apuski.
Feeling very efficient.
DH is heading for Crewe..

Decameron · 16/03/2012 19:07

Rufus, we still intend on moving back but probably 3 or 4 years time. DH admitted he would much rather work! He is afraid I will crack up, ha ha. I have the wine breathing, one in bed and one to go. :)

Portia, I think you should call the police too.

MrsCB, I'm very impressed at the planned decoration!

I have been told to buy myself a mother's day present tomorrow, happy to oblige.

Hope DH makes it home soon, Bloss!

Hasta mañana.

Anyone know where one can hypothetically find moncler in Selfridges?

I feely badly unprepared for tomorrow. Have sat on the sofa. Bad move! I've said it before, I am a complete grump when I'm cold, and the forecast is cold and rain!
Might have to wear the Aigle in the car, then change for the train. Hope they're running tomorrow.

Feel like bringing jumpers Blush
