Not very inspiring- think the tiredness is showing!

I used to wear a black slouchy v neck over my stripey Janice georgina, or a cropped cardigan. Charcoal with navy?

Hopefully · 15/03/2012 18:49

Luckily I don't have to worry about frizzing, just terminal flatness. The joy of poker straight hair Hmm

Red Grin at your sandals dilemma. Glad you solved it.

DH is in charge of the DSs as I am working this evening. There is considerably more volume from all of them than there is when I'm on duty. It is not conducive to work. Mind you, neither is being on here...

Thanks for the NL suggestion for a clutch NY, we have a reasonable sized branch in town so will pop in there tomorrow.

MIM no idea about the Jamies, but find TopShop trousers reasonably true to size on the whole, maybe a fraction small when compared to other high street shop's vanity sizing.

pickledsiblings · 15/03/2012 19:00

MiM, the sizing of TS Jamies is the same as JB Agnes for me, I have the same size in both.

GeorginaWorsley · 15/03/2012 19:39

Thanks Bloss will try grey cardi,or may layer white tee under....
Loving Kate's jeans.

loobylu3 · 15/03/2012 19:40

Hi *MIM&- hope you are hanging in there! I totally understand your wondering re TS Jamies! I have no ideas sadly but the mat Leighs were true to size/ a little big on me, although I think TS tends to come up smaller then most high street shops.

Commiserations on the Marni mrsCB and well done red and amber. The necklaces look really nice and rather unusual too.

Great red jeans verity

icey- have't seen the pics yet but will try to have a peek later if I am your friend :) Hope you feel a bit less hormonal. It's that day 2-4 dip when your milk comes in and you feel fluey, I think. I'm sure DD will adore DS and that he will be a wonderful addition to your family in every way!

I feel like a bit of a sartorial disaster at present. It probably comes of having a constant choice of two pairs of jeans or a denim skirt at home and a couple of black dresses or a black skirt at work!
Looking forward to a refreshing change of outfits in S/pore! Quite right re sun and gorgeous food, FLE (I can see you as kooky/ retro btw). Pleased you are feeling more perky too.

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/03/2012 20:26

Icey - love your pictures on fb!

I have been busy customising a dress - have a dress from last year (french connection broderie) that I've never worn as neck too high so have taken scissors and its now v neck and sleeveless. So need to go to JL tomorrow to get needle and thread to tidy it up. Am also going to get some navy dye to dye a couple of tops.

Also emailed whistles saying - seriously £195 for polyester and they reckon the top is actually cotton but I am not convinced. Will see if its in JL tomorrow.

Still need to lose half a stone I reckon and wish I had a waist - makes dresses very tricksy unless they're very close fitting shift style.

Dauphin - where was your broderie dress from?

GeorginaWorsley · 15/03/2012 20:48

Mrs CB great minds....have dyed some wide leg denim trousers navy and they look great!
Likes the sound of your outfit today too .

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/03/2012 20:51

Thanks Georgina!

I think that I actually suit jeans a lot more than I do dresses. Good job I'm not Kate M - and I thought she looked dreadful today - she really can't do casual.

Mominatrix · 15/03/2012 21:04

amber and Decameron - love your outfits!

Verity - yours too - very Marnant. I love red jeans and have been wearing mine quite a bit.

icey - hope you are feeling better. I don't do Facebook, so unfortunately can't see your pix, but probably a good thing. I am getting very broody now that my youngest is very much out of toddler age and I am at the very end of my fertile life. People must think I am nuts ogling their babies!

Ollie: Selfridges DO sell wigs, but I'm sure you'll be fine. I've always envied curly hair - grass is greener and all.

Hope everyone received their Marni things. I popped into H&M yesterday - of course there was nothing left. Ah well - wasn't meant to be.

I'm wearing comfortable oldies but goodies on Saturday - leather leggings, t-shirt, charcoal blazer, black stilettos. I did try and update today, but nothing really clicked. Looking forward to ogling everyone's outfits.

I did purchase my anniversary present...this. It is the last outfit in the queue. That exact outfit is not available, but the one I purchased is like this, except the top is slightly different, and it is a dress instead of top and skirt. It is a big anniversary, and DH and I agreed to our presents back in the fall. The dress just came in and I went in to get it adjusted (I am puny!), and I can't wait to receive it! THe SA tried to sell me the shoes and bag, but I felt guilty enough getting the dress. I think I'll have to wear it almost every day of the summer to justify this purchase on a cost-per-wear basis!

GeorginaWorsley · 15/03/2012 21:04

I quite liked her jeans Blush

MrsCampbellBlack · 15/03/2012 21:06

Oh I liked the jeans - a good friend has them - but its the way she wears them with her court shoes and air hostess blazer.

I'd just put her in VB all the time really.

Momamatrix. Amazing dress. Stunning. What did DH get? I have incredibly straight, very fine hair which lacks any kind of volume. If it gets wet, it just goes even more limp. Horrible. Would love even a kink in my hair! its in need of a cut at the moment too but hairdresser is away. Didnt she know there was a MU on? Your MU outfit sounds great. Looking forward to meeting you. Smile
Think it was Slay who was asking about the Hermes watch. Am seeing how much they are at the airport and in London at the WE. Friend has offered to get one from the States if they are better priced there. Watch this space!

Watching Masterchef. Id crumble under such pressure.

AmberNectarine · 15/03/2012 21:28

Oh quite agree re KM. Jeans lovely, but the blazer with the gold buttons and sensible courts = anybody's mother-in-law. She looked better in the sweatshirt and trainers, at least she looked her age!

GeorginaWorsley · 15/03/2012 21:55

Agree Mrs CB re air hostess look, was my first thought.Grin

I like some VB stuff ,not so keen on the dress SamCam wore yesterday though.
Tjose jeans would have been better without the blazer, perhaps with something less corporate/structured.

Evening ladies.

I liked KM in the sweatshirt + jeans combo too.

Lovely dress Momamatrix I like your MU outfit too. What age does 'very end of fertile life' equate to please? I've got two DC and would still love another. Wish I could just shake that feeling. I'm 40 but have issues (had a salpingectomy and other tube not great) so would be looking at IVF (so says an expert Obs & Gynae man I've seen recently). Anyway a bit off topic there!

Verity love your latest jacket. I saw it earlier in the week, I may try it as the Comptoir one I wanted looks like it's out of stock now. I'm not supposed to be buying any manmade fibres but that's proving to be very restrictive, can't believe even Whistles are at it.

Fritzi loved the Marni dress you linked too.

MrsCB I'm considering trying a few alterations, can't be that hard can it? Grin

Blue will PM you re: meeting up again, I'm sure we'll be able to sort something out.

Decameron very exciting about buying a house! Do you know where you want to live? That's our main problem at the moment, we could take our time a bit more if we didn't have to think about schools ASAP.

Fleecy · 15/03/2012 22:45

Another fine hair sufferer here - I have taken to curling the ends with my GHDs to look a bit fuller and more glossy. Not good for my hair in the longterm though...

SIL invited me to a fashion show at a local boutique this evening. We both deliberated over outfits. I settled on a taupe Chinti & Parker shift type dress, black opaques, leopard print ankle boots, a jewelled bib necklace and MK watch. Oak Mulberry tote and classic camel coat. I was channelling Olivia Palermo's older fatter sister Grin Was lots of fun to gawp at all the outfits. Didn't buy a thing so feeling very virtuous!

KM very air hostess, yes. What a shame.

Zara have a lot of lovely jackets this year I think.

Oh and mim ages ago you mentioned the Me&EM dress - I have bf in it by slipping one shoulder down and covering up with a muslin flung over.

icey I wanted to like all your FB pics. What a lovely family you have Smile

ReineDeSaba · 15/03/2012 23:18

fleecy great outfit tonight, sounds like great fun.

moma the prada is divine and love the sound of your meetup outfit,i'm still deliberating...

mrscb 195 for a polyester top!that is too naughty.

ollie I'd love a notebook please and can reimburse you on Saturday, thanks Smile

my hair is fairly thick but coarse and kinky..weirdly lost it's curl post children Confused so a bit of a no man's land now...sigh.

bretonbee · 15/03/2012 23:38

Hello all - had my night out with my friend that I was desperate for last week, was very nice, although quite tame and she had to dash home as her 3 month old was bawling to be fed, but still good to get out and she is being very supportive. Wore Goldsign skinnies, new cream BR silk blouse, and taupe jalouse, navy but shiny short Burberry trench and Alexa.

moma love that Prada dress, amazing!

mrscb that Whistles top is lovely but agree with the polyester outrage.

verity really nice jacket. I wore my Zara mrscb cream boucle jacket to work today. I do really like them for blazers and jackets.

my hair also very fine and tendency to be flat although have been going to a new hairdresser recently and the difference is amazing with a good cut and highlights.

Enjoying all the MU outfit dramas, all very inspiring as well in terms of style tips!

blue2711 · 16/03/2012 00:17

Hello everyone. This thread is proving great company through these long nights! (although my gorgeous little baby nestled up with me helps too!)

Missed lots but agreeing with KM comments. Good jeans but bad styling. So young and pretty in the sweatshirt though!

mim so close now! Glad you have a plan sorted. Completely understand re Jamie planning. I have been v pleased with my post birth purchases. I think jamies come up smaller than baxters or Leighs. I wear 24 in j brand or CE but the 25 in Jamies is good - but tight! All the best, am thinking of you.

mrscb I have a gorgeous broderie anglais white (cotton!) dress from whistles last year I'm looking forward to wearing again. Was thinking of wearing with a thin neon belt for a change. Don't you think whistles prices have gone up substantially recently? Would so get that lovely top it weren't for the poly and price. Sorry about the marni.

icey hope you're doing well. Gorgeous pics, what beautiful DC you have.

mom wow to anniversary dress. Love it. Where are your leather leggings from?

I too have limp, fine hair. I curl it with GHDs more than I should but considerably less since DC.

Will probably do some more back reading in the early hrs of the morning!

blue2711 · 16/03/2012 00:28

Yes please ollie to the book, although am not going to MU so if it's too much of a nuisance I quite understand.

Your outfits tonight sound great breton and fleecy. Leopard print ankle boots a great favourite of mine.

Thanks for the eye cream suggestions.

Mominatrix · 16/03/2012 06:33

blue: I love broderie anglais - and it is everywhere this spring/summer. A thin neon belt is a great idea to give it extra "voom". I got my leather leggings 3 years ago at Joseph. From a price-per-wear perspective, they were cheap Grin.

breton: love your outfit. Goldsign jeans are so comfortable and fit perfectly on me.

Fleecy: I'd love a pair of leopard shoes. I remember seeing a pair in the sales a couple years ago and passing because I thought they wouldn't last to the next year - how wrong I was, and how I am still kicking myself! It has turned into a classic. Particularly love the way Olivia Palermo wore hers with clashing floral trousers.

Zembo: I am 42 this year. I'd so love another one, but I think that I should have started trying 2 years ago if it really was going to happen.

Ollie: Looking forward to meeting you in person too. DH got a bronze statue - to me, it looks like a lump of bronze poo, but he seems to love it.

I'm on the fence about Kate. Very pretty girl who sometimes dresses amazingly (well, she wears clothes well), but I think that she is too hesitant to take risks to ever be fashionable. Nothing wrong with it as she has her own style, but it is a bit safe for my tastes.

All this talk about fine hair. I have the opposite problem (and problem it is) and have very thick hair which is not perfectly straight )it has an odd kink in it). It takes forever to dry, and I just don't have the patience to do anything to it. As it is long, most of the time I just pull it back. Trouble is that I have a difficult time finding barrettes which can hold all my hair, and hair elastics need to be replaced after 2 wears as my hair stretches them out. I'd happily give half of it away!

blue2711 · 16/03/2012 06:37

Have just been reading the Sam Cam thread and feeling bit Blush. Apparently everyone but me thinks her outfits are awful. Oh dear, perhaps I don't deserve to be on this thread... Maybe it's the post birth hormones warping my judgement but I like the colours and styles she chooses (not her fringe though).

Hopefully · 16/03/2012 07:03

FLE my lips are sealed on your outfit! Although if you see another top like yours ever, tell me! I neeeeeed one.

Mom Prada dress is brilliant, really unique (in a good way)

Agree about KM's clothes. Was not keen on the blazer at all. You're not a MIL, woman, get a grip!

Used st tropez gradual tan moisturiser last night, am really impressed - good colour, no streaks (that I've noticed) and not too fake-tan-smelling.
