Not very inspiring- think the tiredness is showing!

OP posts:
FritziGreenEyes · 12/03/2012 21:00

too far...

OllieinOrange · 12/03/2012 21:07

Bloss - was going to suggest Uniqlo for purple t shirt so had a quick look and saw that their Orla Kiery range launches later this week so had a peek and had a 'gasp, I NEED this scarf' moment. I know almost not everyone likes her stem print but i have to have this blue grey scarf - scroll down.

i want, i want, i want

Would be the perfect replacement for my Boden one. They are going to sell out before Saturday arent they?

OllieinOrange · 12/03/2012 21:09

I should add that OK isnt widely available over here so would be able to get away with wearing such an obvious OK print.

pickledsiblings · 12/03/2012 21:32

Red, we have F&B smoked trout with white in our ensuite - I love it! DH thought I was serious about the straw hat Shock.

Ollie, that OK stole is lovely and could be the Summer Warehouse leopard replacement (my fav scarf of all time).

Marsha, hurray for overcoming the inertia!

blue2711 · 12/03/2012 21:32

Good luck for tomorrow mim. Will be thinking of you.
hopefully I really feel for you! It's awful being in limbo but even worse when waiting on outside decisions. Let's hope the outcome is the one you want.
red love the sound of the bathroom, very stylish! Gorgeous lights. I immediately thought pale pink but also really like pale grey.
marsha well done on the purchase, now you just need to buy a bag!

Why isn't the gorgeous mrscb Whisles top on their website to buy??? I need it in my wardrobe!

I've started thinking about SS shoes too. Ideally I would have some inexpensive neon pink leather courts (like these but can I cope with polyurethane??), some leopard print flat gladiators (like WIT's from last year), and some medium height heeled black sandals for day (maybe these?)
Frustrating when you can picture what you want but can't find it!

DD in her own room last night but I slept in there with her (I've put a lovely comfy day bed in there). Three hrs between feeds now so I got a little bit more sleep and it made a difference to how I felt today. Thanks again for all the support and non-judgement.

loobylu3 · 12/03/2012 22:22

Have been offline for several days with internet problems and have returned to icey's lovely news. Huge congratulations to you and your family, icey. How lovely to have one of each now and what a great weight!

MIM- v pleased that you managed to find the right size in the TS blazer. Hope you like it. Is your appointment tomorrow? Did you get your sweep in the end (don't feel obliged to answer, obviously)? Whatever happens, you will soon be cuddling your healthy baby.

marsha- I'm pleased to see that you have ordered the shoes. You obviously can't get them out of your head so you at least have to see them.
Lovely dresses by the way. I think they are both beautiful. I can imagine you in the Carven a little more- gorgeous Spring colours.

red- I think we have similar taste as I imagine a deco style bathroom, although I think I will have to contend myself with a bit of a cosmetic makeover rather than anything more costly if/ when we manage to do it!
It's difficult to say what would look good without knowing how large/ light the room is and the ratio of tiles to paint. I personally like cooler colours in general, unless it is a rustic, cottage type property. I also think that would go well with a deco bathroom.
Perhaps a pale grey, like Blue Grey or something on the blue/ green spectrum. I love cooking apple green (a bit warmer though) and vert de terre. Teresa's green and Dix blue also look great.
I would also love a shower room with pearlescent mosaic tiles (in my dreams at present). :)

decameron- so sorry to hear about your mum's anniversary. She sounds like such a lovely mother- strong and supportive. Also sorry to hear what you are going through, breton

Hello to monimatrix!

V entertaining to read about the Marni Mania last week! Well done to all of you who managed to obtain some of the pieces. It would be lovely to see some pictures if you are brave enough! I'm not sure it would have been quite right on me, possibly a bit unstructured/ flowy but would look great on someone else and the necklaces/ scarves are rather gorgeous.

Hello- I've found a small pocket of phone reception and am making the most of it as cluster feeding has commenced in earnest!
Thanks for all your thoughts and congratulations and thanks ollie for updating everyone.
I'm completely in love with my son. His name is Samue l Joh n (without the spaces obv)

I'm feeling a lot better than this time yesterday but very sore and worried at the prospect of not being able to lift, drive, exercise etc for a good while. And also- what can I wear?

Will be thinking of you tomorrow MiM.

Will try to catch up with everyone else once i get home.

Love you all!

Lovely name icey and lovely to hear from you. I'm sure you'll make a nice quick recovery but take Georgina's advice and enjoy doing nothing for a little while first! You'll get some good post CS advice about clothes on here
I bet! Love to you all.

Emo76 · 13/03/2012 06:10

Re how I wore me&em navy dress yesterday: wore with black shortish jacket and navy print lkbennett heels (the ones wit has). And (date I admit) nude tights! Sometimes I wonder re black with navy but seems to work for me. Sorry for lack of links but jacket is from dkny sale a few years back and am rubbish at iPhone links.

Up with dd2 watching teletubbies, perfect pre work fare!

ReineDeSaba · 13/03/2012 06:18

I feel really fraudulent. I hope no one thinks I am having my CS today! Just go to talk to the dr and probably book the date for later this week or early next week. Will probably have another sweep too. looby I was seen on Friday, was 1-2 cms and waters on the cusp of go

ReineDeSaba · 13/03/2012 06:26

Icey what a lovely name and so nice to hear from you. There are some fantastic roll top jersey trousers in the white co that I wore loads after my section, so comfy but get you out out the pj rut when at home. Otherwise I wore leggings for a few weeks. Get some big knickers and tree tea in the bath is wonderful too. I followed the physio's instructions for getting in and out of bed to a T, and found that a great comfort.

ReineDeSaba · 13/03/2012 06:34

FLE my 'weird' crush is Damien Lewis..gorgeous!

Mominatrix · 13/03/2012 06:42

Slay: genuine sympathies on the loss of your mum. She sounds like she was amazing.

Gerorgina: I love chinos, and although not the most stylish things, if you buy a slim-ish pair, roll the hems up, wear with heels, white shirt (untucked), and a slightly baggy jumper, you'd look positively Parisian.

Ooh Marsha! Lanvin! Hope they are even more fabulous when they are in your hands.

red/mrscb: Can I live vicariously through you? As we are temporarily residents here (albeit, veeeeeeery long term temporarily), DH is loathe to purchase a house and denies me the pleasure of re-doing bathrooms and kitchens.

loobylou3: waves hello

blue: I highly recommend the Zara website for shoes. They have a great selection for this season.

icy: A big welcome to Samuel John. I have no sartorial advice as I was wearing pregnancy clothes for 3 months AFTER giving birth. Twas a bit depressing, and I don't recommend it.

Reine: took my two to see the Muppets and they loved it. Made me nostalgic and I was singing along to the Rainbow Connection - DSs were a bit embarrassed at that point.

I would love to come to the MU. What are the details?

Today, I need to dress day-into-night so am planning on an Isabel Marant sweatshirt dress, charcoal blazer, stacks of bangles, and ballerina flats (need to run around today).

Hopefully · 13/03/2012 06:53

Icey lovely name! Glad you are feeling ok. Re driving etc, do try to do as the docs advise - I followed the recovery advice to the letter (no lifting, no driving etc) and healed so quickly and painlessly compared to some friends who didn't and have various minor ongoing niggles. Of course, they might have been unlucky anyway, but being sensible and sitting still with a cup of tea is unlikely to hurt, right? Smile

MIM hope your sweep today leads somewhere, and that you're happy with the CS date you get.

Thank you so much for the kind words everyone about the job situation. It really is lovely to have somewhere to vent.

FLE we have made the decision external in that we decided that anything below X salary wasn't worth missing the opportunity for me to do what I want too, so we would move, and anything above would be worth it, and we'd stay. Fewer hours for same pay would be an interesting proposition... Gut feeling no use as what I want to do is rush off and do what suits me, but unfortunately have to think about realities of housing and feeding DSs.

OllieinOrange · 13/03/2012 07:00

Mominatrix - we are meeting at a bar but I dont know what its called or even where it is. Sorry! Weve been there before (and I just followed the others in in the style of a country bumpkin going oohhh and ahh). Maybe Marsha can PM you the details?

Georgina. I have a pair of beige chinos and now some jean type ones. They are not the most flattering style of trouser on me but like because they are comfy and just different from wearing skinny/straight jeans everyday. i just dont look at my bum in them! Always wear mine rolled up - love the styling suggestion made by Mominatrix. I need a white shirt.

Dutch lesson this morning and I completley forgotton to do the homework. Slacker. A taking banana bread to suck up to the teacher Smile

FritziGreenEyes · 13/03/2012 08:12

reine The muppets movie is great. I loved Kermit's existentialist outfit when he visits Piggy in Paris Grin

FritziGreenEyes · 13/03/2012 08:20

Ohhh, I'm finally in love with Marni: here

Russianred · 13/03/2012 08:30

Icey such a beautfiul name - was very nearly DS'. And what a big boy too! I also wore yoga trousers a lot post-CS. Am sure I mentioned it before, but arnica in its tablet form really helped and take all the drugs they give you - keep on taking them even when you think that you're not in pain anymore. Hope feeding is going well.

Snap on the weird crush front Reine, it was Captain Winters that did it for me. And that BBC series that I can't remember the name of about couples/affairs/divorce.

Styling of the me & em sounds lovely Emo. Someone will wear it on Saturday won't they? I must see it!

Has your Marni order arrived yet MrsCB? Am growing impatient!

Ollie the OK scarf is so you! Could one of us order online for you if you're worried about missing out?

DC and I were bathed, dressed and breakfasted by 7.15 this morning. Now what to do?!
