Not very inspiring- think the tiredness is showing!

I would or used to wear hasbeens and just a t-shirt or white shirt. But the thing I found is that they go baggy on the bottom and I hate that look.

Hopefully · 12/03/2012 19:59

Red ideally like my Toms, super comfortable, work with lots of outfits etc. But they wear out fast. I had two pairs last summer and really neither of them are remotely suitable for wearing this summer as they are so stained and worn and the soles have worn down pretty badly. Although, saying that, I walk a lot (like, a couple of hours most days), so shoes have to be pretty hard wearing to look good after a season on my feet. And I didn't really have any other shoes last summer.

Have just been looking at leather jackets on Massimo Dutti. Couple of rather nice ones. Has anyone felt them? Are they nice quality?

I am feeling fantastically stressed today - the people who offered DH a job don't want to pay what he wants/needs, but want to discuss 'options' with him (and I have tried reading between the lines on the email till I am blue in the face). But the man who wants to discuss the 'options' is on holiday until the end of the month, so our where-are-we-living-and-what-are-we-doing crisis continues for at least another three weeks. We had decided that we were going to make a choice about whether we stay (and DP has this job and I remain more or less as a SAHM) or go (and we both work, albeit from home still in my case, but a lot more than I currently do) based on the decision from this company, so we feel completely paralysed until they decide. ARGHHHHHHH. Not taking this job would mean such a big change for us that we can't make the decision to just go ahead and abandon it without hearing the company out fully. My head is absolutely spinning.

GeorginaWorsley · 12/03/2012 20:03

Thanks Mrs CB,I know the look you mean.
Think I will try capri pants instead,I think I need cleaner lines than the chinos offer,as they have leating going on at waist!
Or coloured skinnies rolled up.
I find skinnies harder in summer due to shoe issues, tbh.

GeorginaWorsley · 12/03/2012 20:04

Pleating at waist,God knows what 'leating' is.Grin

Russianred · 12/03/2012 20:14

Reassuring to hear MrsCB - I've had this bathroom planned out for about 4 years now, so it better be good. I walked into a friend's bathroom about 3 months ago and it was exactly what I wanted for mine. So I stole all of her research. No way DH would spring for pink, unfortunately. Like the suggestion of green MiM, perhaps a light sage?

Also hope tomorrow goes well MiM. Might you be nesting there?!

Thank you Hopefully, have just looked online and think I might channel Blue and go for a fuchsia pair. Will make a point of browsing I Selfirdges in Saturday - seem to remember that they had quite the range.

Russianred · 12/03/2012 20:15

And also, of course, sorry to hear about the hold-up to decision making. What on earth could the options be, I wonder?

Decameron · 12/03/2012 20:16

Keep losing posts, grr.

Slay, I am very sorry about your mother.

Thanks for the nice comments. Took the DDs out for lunch and then had a parent teacher meeting. The teacher said she is a lovely little girl and it is a pleasure to have her in the class. I bet she says it to all the parents but it was nice to hear!

Amber, I like the sound of your outfit, and yours, Bloss. I shrank that Jigsaw top, pity because I really liked it.

I need to get some shorts for my DDs.

Emo, what shoes did you wear with the Me&Em dress?

Hopefully, can your DH stay in his current job? Maybe they will counter-offer if they know he is interviewing elsewhere. Sometimes happens.

FritziGreenEyes · 12/03/2012 20:16

red I think you need the cat straw hat for Easter in Cape Town Grin

Decameron · 12/03/2012 20:18

That hat is something else!

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2012 20:25

I have finally ordered the Lanvin bright ones from NaP.

I really couldn't ask anymore on here about them and I was in w&a limbo.

So I just did it. Better be nice!

notyummy · 12/03/2012 20:26

Thanks Fritzi!

mim I am in awe of your burst of energy. A good wardrobe clearout is just so satisfying.

red/mrscb I love the description of your future bathrooms. I am wondering whether I can convince DH to rip out the Tuscan tiles and Bisazza mosaic out of our bathroom and redo it. Smile

hopefully Must be terrible to be in limbo and not being able to make a final decision because you cannot get the information you need.

Oh, can someone please enlighten me what "Toms" are?!

Russianred · 12/03/2012 20:28

It is wild Grin. I had a hilarious conversation earlier trying to referee between my mother and grandmother. Oma is throwing a strop about the location of one of her parties (she is having three!) and my Mum is seeing it as a personal insult as it was her venue of choice and now claims her brothers are ganging up on her. You're in your sixties and nearly 90, people!

FritziGreenEyes · 12/03/2012 20:29

marsha x-post. Phew, I can go to bed now and not dream about your Lanvins. I'm sure you'll love them!

Russianred · 12/03/2012 20:29

Toms here Fritzi.

Well done Marsha, they really had better be good!

Hopefully · 12/03/2012 20:31

Hurrah Marsha! Hope they live up to expectations.

Red I am driving myself quietly insane trying to second guess what 'options' might mean.

Don't think a counter offer from DH's current employer is likely as they announced today that they are starting redundancy scoring Shock. You know, just to make things a little less relaxing for us Hmm Grin

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2012 20:34

hehe Fritzi. I was giving myself the cold sweats!

I was looking at them daily and closing the page, the web page I mean... I nearly called it the window but that would be in the same place as the baskets I fill. Grin

Hopefully ah you poor thing, hang in there.

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2012 20:35

x post. Thanks Red and Hopefully! The blue box will be nice at least.

AntPants1 · 12/03/2012 20:40

red love the light and the idea of a deco theme. What about a dove grey?!!Fritizi good luck with persuading DH!

MIM the very best of luck. Good to know you will be returning to an organised closet!!

Hopefully I hate being in limbo so fingers crossed its not for the full 3 weeks and you can get some information sooner.

marsha fingers crossed for the Lavins. I can only dream of pulling off a pair of those!!

bretonbee · 12/03/2012 20:45

Thankyou all so much for your kind words and support, it really does make a massive difference to have another place to go at the moment.

Huge congrats to icey, DSs are lovely Grin and enjoy your newborn cuddles. Good luck to mim as well.

Thankyou Marsha too for the MU invite but am away this WE...sounds like a lot of fun though. Well done on the Lanvins too - I bought a tan pair in the NAP sale last summer and love them, the box is just so pretty as well!

Am rather dreading the weekend tbh as am going to my parents and I haven't told them much about what is going on and need to come clean. I know that they will be supportive of me but probably angry with DP which I don't really need (am trying to limit my own anger) and my mum is a massive worrier. Although I am feeling kinder towards her as I know I am lucky to have her and big sympathies to Slay and Decameron today. I will cheer myself up by reading about your antics!

I don't take any vitamins or supplements regularly but I think I might start too, could probably do with a little boost Smile

MidnightinMoscow · 12/03/2012 20:46

Red some lovely ideas here.

Good for you Marsha, I'm sure you'll love them.

Sorry to hear about the waiting game Hopefully.

Yes, MrsCB I thought of you when I saw the top, I think it will be perfect for you. The colour is beautiful by the way.

blossoming · 12/03/2012 20:50

Well done marsha!
Best of luck mim. How lovely to come home to an organised closet!
As a teacher decam, I do not say that to all the parents!

blossoming · 12/03/2012 20:53

I'm watching the Home Cooking programme on BBC2. Where can I get a purple t shirt like hers?

FritziGreenEyes · 12/03/2012 21:00

deca Think that compliment was well deserved! Used to be a teacher (long, long time ago) and would never say something like that if not meant honestly.

ants We only moved into our house 2 years ago and there are still so many other things we need to do. DH indulges most of my interior design antics but that might be one step to far Wink. So looking forward to seeing you again on Sat!

red Thanks for enlightening me.

breton At least you know your parents are supportive. Mine would freak out and blame it all on me I think.
