Huge congratulations Icey! Your text to Ollie made me well up. Hope you're recovering well and enjoying lots of cuddles with your gorgeous boy. Must take more heed of magpies!

This MU eyebrow talk is making me giggle - I've been without my trusty Tweezermans for 3 days (I think the DC may have hidden them in one of their drawer-raiding games, so am searching high and low) and am convinced everyone is staring at my rapidly-developing monobrow. I must go and buy another pair tomorrow once I'm absolutely convinced they aren't appearing again.

Marsha DH has taken to calling me Jane (of Rod and Freddy fame) because of my coloured jeans obsession. I think I'd be scared to wear Lanvin shoes for fear of scuffing them!

Amber, if you can bear it, I was eating Liver once a week until recently which made me feel loads better. DH has to do the handling and cooking, but makes a mean liver and bacon, so it was just about palatable.

Decameron that must be such a hard day for you. I'm so glad that you have such a catalogue of wonderful memories to draw from; your mum sounds like she was amazing.

Mom your outfit sounds gorgeous. Wow.

Russianred · 12/03/2012 13:13

Apuski there's a place in WOT village that does threading and looks good. Will try and remember the name.

VerityBrulee · 12/03/2012 13:24

Wonderful news Icey so happy for you Smile

Oh Decameron what a hard day for you. It must be awful, I'm so sorry. Your mother sounded like such a lovely lady, life can be so harsh and unfair. Allow yourself to be sad today, maybe you could do something nice with the girls, go out for early dinner so you don't have to cook, just be kind to yourself. I hate anniversaries, hopefully tomorrow it will be easier. Big hug from me.

Bloss sorry you had such a fright with dd, hope you're all on the mend now.

Amber I swear by Vivioptal active, it has no iron which always upsets my stomach, and I take Solgar B vitamins too. I really notice the difference if I run out.

I have spent the morning making dd red gingham shorts, I hope she likes them!

Dauphin · 12/03/2012 13:35

Decameron...thinking of you matey...hugs....

OllieinOrange · 12/03/2012 13:45

Just been asked if Id been crying. I think the eyelash tint has run a bit too much. Shock

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2012 13:46

Haha Apuski I remembered your story from last time when I thought I'm not doing it Saturday Grin

Red haha. My rather bright yellow skinnies keep catching my eye in my peripheral vision. Everyone was still in grey and black this morning and I felt as bright as a road workman in yellow. I feel like an early trend adopter. Wink Not sure I am comfortable with that. Grin

Hopefully · 12/03/2012 14:22

Just been out at farm with friends and associated DCs. Was dressed semi-appropriately for the insane warm weather, but wished I had picked something more cheerful than dark teal skinnies and dark green sweater! With random non-matching Toms as I have nothing else other than boots to put on my feet.

Am finding Master Your Metabolism fascinating reading - a great 'health' rather than than 'diet' book, iykwim. I may actually manage to eat more healthily after this.... Also my new scary heavy weights arrived today. I will probably not do a NY and shred with 7kg weights fit away, but I am planning maybe 3.0, 2.5 and 1.5 for various exercises.

Amber I started taking some bog standard Holland & Barrett multi vits with iron in a couple of weeks ago, and feel noticeably better for it. It's so nice having some energy again after weeks and weeks of (probably) anaemia/rap diet induced lethargy!

OllieinOrange · 12/03/2012 14:38

I asked the lady who does my facials today about vitamins and she stressed the importance of spending money on good ones - and not the ones with synthetics in them. She advised going to a specialist vitamin store or a very good health food shop.

Congratulations Icey on your beautiful boy enjoy every moment.

Decameron hugs to you today I lost my mother just over a month ago and its horrid with Mothers day looming. I loved what your mother said to your husband and it will be lovely to share/relive those memories with your children. She does indeed live on through you.

blue2711 · 12/03/2012 17:06

Oh icey! What wonderful news! Am so thrilled for you. A gorgeous boy, you must be over the moon. Having a son is wonderful; you will love it. Enjoy the bliss of getting to know your precious newborn now. And well done!

decameron thinking of you. Your mum sounds wonderful.

Lovely saloni dress in Grazia. If my life ever gets more glamorous I'm getting one!

Smiling at the thought of mom, red and marsha in their brights. I'm in my red skinnies again but with a grey cotton cropped trench from jigsaw from yrs ago. Not sure I'm brave enough for multiple brights in one outfit yet!

Gorgeous new j brands just arrived at mywardrobe. I like these.

Hi zembo. I'm doing ok thanks. Loving having two children but it's not always easy! I'd love to meet up again if you're sure you're not too busy. If you've got a quietish week then pm me. Really like that comptoir cardigan.

annie your words meant a lot, thank you.

verity red gingham shorts sound gorgeous! Bet Dd loves them. The clothes my mum made me were always extra special to me.

blue2711 · 12/03/2012 17:08

slay so sorry to hear of your loss.

blue2711 · 12/03/2012 17:08

Can't wait to hear the name of baby icey!

MarshaBrady · 12/03/2012 17:15

Slaymill oh big hugs to you too.

Blue I had too many pastels / brights on this morning. I chickened out at 2.00pm and put on slouchy navy Stella jumper to tone down.

Also I'm sorry I seemed to have missed your sleep post, but whatever you do will be right I'm sure. I broke many rules in the early days because we were on our knees with lack of sleep. (he slept on my chest a lot so he could breathe properly, it was awful and the midwife made me feel very bad). So whatever you do try not to worry.

I saw four colourful skinny jeans in the playground - red, dark red, orange. I felt a bit conscious of the 'trend'! Maybe I need to adjust to it all.

Verity gingham shorts sounds so cool, my mother made loads for us too.

blossoming · 12/03/2012 17:27

So sorry for your loss slaymill

Dd is better. At last! And will go to childminder tomorrow. Such a relief.
Lovely weather here today. I was inappropriately dressed in wool trousers and jigsaw wrap jumper.

ReineDeSaba · 12/03/2012 18:25

have loads to read back on but have spotted that icey has a baby boy..wonderful,wonderful news,so thrilled for you Smile

AntPants1 · 12/03/2012 18:56

Congratulations to icey!

NY I am coming to MU too!

Slay I am so sorry for your loss. decameron too. Several of us have lost parents on this thread. Anniversaries are head. Be kind to yourself.

AntPants1 · 12/03/2012 18:59

And icey what a whopper after all that worry! Love the fact that with everything going on you still found time to update the thread!

AmberNectarine · 12/03/2012 19:04

I have literally bored myself silly with my outfit today; black Jamies, white Vince T shirt, grey leopard high tops and black/blue McQueen scarf. Must try harder tomorrow.

I really like that cardigan zembo and have indeed tried it on, it is almost jacket like. Shame the stupid sycophant of a manager put me off by enthusing to a nauseating degree.

slay really sorry to hear that, hope you are bearing up ok. My own DM has really cheesed me off today, but seeing what you and decameron have said has made me feel I should tell her I love her anyway.

Thank you so much for all your vitamin/health advice. That's what I love about this thread - as well as it being somewhere we can harp on about our recent purchases Wink, it is also a font of wide and varied knowledge!

pickledsiblings · 12/03/2012 19:42

Red, lovely straw hat in case the Marni one doesn't work out Grin

Russianred · 12/03/2012 19:46

Evening all. Have just been talking bathrooms with our bathroom guy. He is going to be stripping everything out, re-plastering and doing the whole lot whilst we are in Cape Town. It will be very exciting to return to it all finished and a decent shower for the first time in a long time. We're going for quite a 1930s look with metro tiling, a big shower head with exposed pipework etc etc. I rather fancy these lights to glam it all up a bit. Have just got to decide on a colour for the walls that won't be tiled. Any ideas? Tiling will be white, so will look quite stark.

Slay I'm really sorry for your loss. Everything must feel incredibly raw right now. Thinking of you.

Amber surely no outfit can be boring with a McQueen scarf thrown into the mix. I rather desperately want one, actually.

So glad DD is back on form Bloss.

Do you rate Toms Hopefully? Am leaning towards getting a pair.

Verity I love the sound of red gingham shorts. DD was in a really cool little outfit today; navy/white breton, green cord shorts and navy tights with white polka dots. I had serious shorts envy.

I was just reminiscing on a look I used to sport with frequency after finding old pictures - white shirts with a cropped black mohair jumper atop. Would quite like to re-create with some SS shades.

Russianred · 12/03/2012 19:47

Linked to a general page Pickled, but I do hope you were referring to this one. It's certainly reasonably priced, that's for sure.

MidnightinMoscow · 12/03/2012 19:52

Really sorry to hear that you lost your Mum so recently Slay, big hug coming from here too.

Have you considered light - olive green Red? Can look lovely with the metro tiles.

Glad to hear that DD is better now Bloss.

Saw the lace embellished blouse in Whistles today - it is very pretty, but slightly short, so might not be great on the long of body types.

I cleared out most of my mat clothes this afternoon and organised ebay/charity shop/give to friends piles. Very satisfying. Also sorted out all my shoes, and labeled all my shoe boxes...boring but nice to look at the nice piles!

MrsCampbellBlack · 12/03/2012 19:56

Short you say MIM - that has my name written all over it [ignores fact am not meant to be shopping at all at the moment]

Red - I love the sound of your bathroom - very similar to what we'll go for - I quite fancy a very pale pink as its rather flattering on the skintone and I need all the help possible in the bathroom.

MIM - good luck tomorrow!

GeorginaWorsley · 12/03/2012 19:57

Right, have decided these new fangled chino things not for me.
ordered some cheapo New Look ones just to test the water but make me look short and stumpy.
What shoes/tops would you wear with them?
