Not very inspiring- think the tiredness is showing!

Sorry you are having a hard time Breton. Just wanted to say I've had the split issue on the Davina and two Tinas. Took them all back to LKB who replaced the Davina and one Tina and repaired the other Tina free of charge. Poor stitching of the seams is a known issue I think and imo if they want to charge near enough designer prices for High Street they need to ensure quality is there.

Can I also join the rant on salespeople - the over eagerness to take things to the changing rooms. If they are so worried about theft then tag your items, oh and I would have to be a specially stupid thief to be on your VIP list where you have my name, address and card details already in your system. I'm talking to you Reiss.

Shoe addicts I bought these in black yesterday. Those of you going to the MU may want to nip into Selfridges and have a look at the CL 20th anniversary collection on the ground floor some of those shoes are a work of art.

Grin at the agnostic side of Christianity fle

When my sister lived in Estonia the public loos had saloon doors like that. I hated using them and she never did get used to people?s heads peering over the top!

Not sure how wise tax returns or ironing are when squiffy Ollie but made me smile!

Hopefully I had a joint 30th with a friend in a local pub ? we basically paid for some catering and a DJ then the pub was open as usual but mainly full of our friends doing karaoke (shameless, sorry but I love a bit of tipsy singing?) and it was a really fun night. Cheap way of doing a party but lots of fun. We splashed out for DH and went to New York. On a different note, funnily enough I wore Me & Em dress out on Friday with teal tights.

I agree marsha that the bag is nice but very £££ and sure you could find similar for less.

Choo how lovely to see you. Mwah mwah! Fab shoes but I would expect no less from you.

Breton sorry you?re having a tough time. Lots of lovely ladies, support and distractions on this thread so glad you?re sticking around Smile

Just checking in to see if there is any news from Icey.

Hopefully, a party at home does sound more work for you. I feel ancient!

I love red dresses and have two, a DvF sales bargain and a lovely DKNY sundress.

I shrank yet another damn top that got caught up in my DDs' clothes my head is in the clouds as it was my mother's anniversary and I hate this time of year. So bought a lovely pale pink Velvet top in a great shop dangerously located at the end of my street to make up.

Hate pushy salespeople and woe betide any chuggers who approach me, but I usually have a good idea what I want but sometimes believe them (e.g., the LK Bennett dress) and then realise later that they were lying! What I really hate is when you've barely got one leg out of your jeans and they appear at the door asking how you are getting on.

Bloss, sorry you had a scary Sat night, I am glad DD is ok and hope you are too now.

Breton, really sorry to hear that, I hope you are ok, well, as ok as you can be. I'm sure your bag looks great.

Choo, great shoes! When I am back at work, I am getting a pair. :) And a Davina.

Ollie, sounds like a good afternoon!

Emo, I like the sound of your weekend outfits (probably because that's what I wear too!). You have lovely bags, maybe a few more scarves. I also have a AH red bag sales fund started and have a black Mulberry mitzy bag on eBay at the moment to this end, just a little shout out to anyone looking for one!

DD2 wakes at 5/5.30 if we don't give her 11pm milk, with that she goes to 6.30, maybe 7 if I'm lucky. She does go to bed at 6.45pm though with two naps during the day. Better go give her porridge now.

FritziGreenEyes · 12/03/2012 08:18

breton Sorry you are going through such a difficult time. Feel free to rant and cry or whatever you need to here.

choo Selfridges shoe dep is always on my to do list for London Wink

deca I cannot imagine how hard that anniversary must be. The best thing when spoiling things in the washing machine is to replace them immediately Smile

ollie DH had to do some work on Sat after we came home very tipsy from our friends' house. He said it was a breeze but hasn't had any feedback yet. Grin

notyummy · 12/03/2012 08:19

Morning all. No baby news yet? Hmm. Thoughts to you both, ladies.

Decameron - hope your mums anniversary passes peacefully. And Bloss, I was also thinking about you when you posted how scary it was with DDs temp - with the experience you have had it is utterly understandable that those symptoms would be frightening.

Choo - how lovely to see you....with an utterly appropriate Selfridges link as well!

Breton - sorry to hear you have had a sad weekend. It sounds very draining and unsettling.

Annie - when you said 'those who think they are right about childrearing 100% of the time are deluded' (am paraphrasing..) I was nodding enthusiastically. Was exactly what I was trying to say the other day in a rather more long winded manner.

Hopefully - sounds like you can be the duty sensible person in our room at the MU then Wink. I am probably building up a picture in your head of a right old lush, which must scare you rigid! Not really the case - been a fair few years while since I have done anything other than get a bit louder/sillier and chattier than normal whilst drinking. Although I do trip over things easily....

I had my 30th in a restaurant with about 20 friends. Was fab - and there were a number of falling over incidents I think. Quite a boozy night as most were still childfree and hardcore drinkers Blush. DH (or DP as he was at the time) and I had to get up really early the next morning as he was taking me to Prague for a surprise trip. I did feel the pain at 0530!

Am struggling slightly with what to wear to work when the morning are chilly but the forecast is to be quite warm. Just in the office today with no meetings, and was tired yesterday I couldn't be bothered doing a whole new outfit.....so am wearing the same as yesterday (leopard maxi and fited black tee - although with wooden heels and a black bf cardigan as well.) Tomorrow will be more testing - big presentation to make, but allegedly hot later in the day. Will have to think.

Apparently the current good weather is due to end by Friday so not lasting for the MU - boo!

Thanks NY and Fritzi, just a day but I am always glad when it is over.

Apuski, forgot to say, gorgeous dress.

I was in New York for my 30th, my cousin came over to surprise me.

FritziGreenEyes · 12/03/2012 08:30

Oh I had a premature midlife crisis before my 30th. Went on a week-long yoga retreat to Goa, came back with some terrible stomach bug. That somehow spoilt DH's surprise trip to France via Eurostar. We still went but instead of sipping champagne it was chamomile tea and dry brioche for me. Think I made more than up for it for my 40th Grin

notyummy · 12/03/2012 08:42

Was thinking - shall we have a current roll call of who is coming on Saturday? Then I can circulate the real names list nearer the time. My first stab at the list is below:

Notyummy
Everything
Hopefully
Bloss
Red
Apuski
Pickled
Ollie
Fritzi
Marsha
Emo
Amber (? - wasn't sure about the baby situation?!)
Decameron (Not certain...?)
Mominatrix

I am really sorry to anyone I have mised - it certainally wasn't intentional. Just doing the list off the top of my head, with no reference to early threads!

And on stores/changing rooms etc. I would like to give an honourable mention to the Jigsaw staff in Nottingham who have always got the balance right between being helpful/attentive and leaving you alone. Plus are able to suggest combinations/options that really work. Of late I haven't found much in Jigsaw that works for me tbh, but have bought a fair amount of workwear in there in the past and they were good. Everythings explanation of how they are trained helps explain it.

Decameron · 12/03/2012 09:16

I can't make it in the evening unfortunately,NY, as my dad is over. I am having a mini mini meetup with Ollie, Bloss and Red at lunchtime though so looking forward to that.

I've always found the staff in Jigsaw very good too.

FritziGreenEyes · 12/03/2012 09:27

Decameron, I am sending you a big hug...must be a hard time for you. Take care of yourself as much as you can.

Hoping that Icey is ok, been thinking of her lots.

Big wave to everyone else. No news here, just trying the blow dry my hair whilst bouncing on a ball. Tricky.

Am really really hoping to make it but the evenings are a bit tricky for me as she just will not settle for anyone but me at the moment, which is fine in the daytime, but obviously she does need to sleep at night...

AmberNectarine · 12/03/2012 10:18
