Not very inspiring- think the tiredness is showing!

Meant to say I am Envy of all the sunshine, it's grey and overcast here.

notyummy · 11/03/2012 10:27

Great shopping in Harrogate Portia. Try the row of shops facing directly onto the Stray (huge green area!) for independent boutiques and show shops. There is a main clothes shopping street that runs parallel to the pedestrian precinct and has loads of high end clothes shops on (sorry- we moved from Harrogate in 2005 and I am struggling with street names!) The centre isn't that big tbh and there are good shops all over (except the pedestrian precinct that is MacDonalds and BHS central.) Go to Betty's for a pot of tea and a Fat Rascal (although there are often queues so you might not have time if on business.)

shoe shops- not shoe.

Everything- if I am a film star then it is one if the slightly raddled ones in Heat magazine when they are papped after their night of debauchery Grin. Expect that will be me next Sunday too!!

I want a lounging outfit! And also time to lounge, possibly.

MIM impressed at you managing hair and make up! I had given up entirely by about 37 weeks

FLE yup, it's a Kettlewell maxi. I need some more tops to go with it really, but will prob wear it a lot in summer with vests.

Mominatrix · 11/03/2012 10:40

Love the sound of your outfit notyummy. Very glam. I will be not-so-glam as I am off to watch DS1 play rugby. Well, at least it is not freezing cold and muddy.

Good luck MiM with the CS. I was supposed to have one with DS1, but once it was booked, he (DS1) changed him mind and decided to come out the main route.

Amber - I know of that windmill (I noticed it when I was taking DS1 to see a school near there). Is it worth seeing?

OllieinOrange · 11/03/2012 11:09

Marsha ASOS has 60% of IRO and other Parisian labels today. Didnt see the lovely dress Mrs CB linked too on it but maybe worth a look?

Mominatrix - we have a MU this coming Saturday in London (early evening onwards). Feel free to come along too? We are all very friendly - honest!

Portia4 · 11/03/2012 11:45

Hopefully DD1 20yrs, DD2 16yrs and DD3 9yrs and only starting to lounge! Will be going into work for a couple of hours, so won't be lounging for too long!

Thanks for retail intelligence NY

Portia4 · 11/03/2012 11:49

I really enjoyed Shane Watson's article in the Sunday Times today, she mentions lots of items often discussed on this thread - including red dresses !

FritziGreenEyes · 11/03/2012 12:08

Joining notyummy on the hungover bench. Cheese fondue at our lovely friends' house down the road. Our DDs are anout the same age and had a great time watching DVDs until late while we indulged and chatted. Will have to wear sunglasses for MU next week Smile

Thanks for the links last night pickled. 65cm x 65cm is air hostess which is a shame as the classic English brands have great designs but are too small. I really liked the Kate Spade and the By Malene Birger, but wish they'd specify what the accent colour is, cream or white.
Had an awful night with dd who was burning up when we got home. I am fine most of the time but the day dc2 died it was the temperature they couldn't 't get down. I've been lucky that my dcs have been pretty healthy but I admit I lost it last night. Still, she got over it and is incredibly perky today. Unlike the rest of us. It is such a long way and not a single motorway. 7hrs of country roads, what a killer, and Little Chef for dinner. My stylish life indeed.
Also enjoying ST Style and keen on the mood board article. I reckon it would suit us very well!
Will try and catch up with links this afternoon. Hope you're well icey, and you too mim.

Hopefully · 11/03/2012 13:43

Bloss you must have been so panicked Sad. Glad she is feeling better now

How rubbish FLE. Sounds like a good call getting a solicitor and at least having a chat and see how the land lies. No budget brand shunning here! Will check out H&M next time I am released from the house. Ditto on the red-issues (for obvious reasons). I really love red, am watching a couple of bits on ebay at the moment and keeping fingers crossed that they're the right shade when they arrive! Was so pissed off this morning - got carried away and missed a Rick Owens cardigan that I really wanted. Boo.

Portia so only another 17 years or so to go before I can commence lounging Grin

Hopefully · 11/03/2012 13:57

I have just ordered shoes from Aldo, hope at least some of them are keepers. Had a discount code - single use, or I would happily share. orange sandals, pale teal sandals, high tops, really plain flats, slightly less plain flats. Hoping that some of them will form pretty much all the summer shoes I need to buy.

Hopefully · 11/03/2012 14:01

Oh, and have booked ticket to London. Will be getting in around midday and leaving early afternoon on Sunday. Will probably shop somewhere in the afternoon, but no set plans as yet, would quite like to try on a Burberry to see if it's worth watching out on eBay, but nothing definite. I'm maximising my time away relatively guilt free, as DH is taking the DSs to see his sister for the weekend Smile

Portia4 · 11/03/2012 14:42

Ollie thanks for the tip on Asos.I am supposed to be working, but am perusing the website, I would love a summer blazer, what do you girls think of this, and these trews are really nice too, but the model is 5'11" and look at the length of them!

Russianred · 11/03/2012 15:07

Afternoon all. Icey I'm thinking of you lots! MiM I completely get how you must be feeling, having made your decision and now having the 'control' taken out of your hands, but, to re-iterate everyone else, they can be amazing things, ELCS. And, who's to say things won't start between now and the date they set? Thinking of you too.

Bloss you must have been out of your mind with worry. Glad to hear that DD is much better today.

Lovely, Lovely IRO dress - can absolutely see you in it Marsha. Portia the blazer is gorgeous and an excellent discount too.

I love Harrogate Portia - can also recommend Betty's for tea, but no shopping recommendations as I was a poor student when in the area. Hope you get the chance to slot some in.

I too would love a red dress FLE, I'm never quite sure of the right shade though. Hope you're enjoying your day.

Have been at the Zoo in the sunshine for the morning and am now halfway through ruining the kitchen making jammy dodgers with DS, so DH can watch the rugby in relative peace.

MarshaBrady · 11/03/2012 15:08

Ooh thanks Ollie! I'll have a look for the dress.

Portia I really like those links and think they are very you.

Bloss you poor thing what a scary night. I'm glad your dd is ok.

FLE you too would really suit a red dress. Good luck with the solicitor, hope it goes smoothly and you are ok.

It has turned into a lovely day here too. Which means I need to sort my summer shoe thing pronto! I feel so uncomfortable in boots in warmer weather.

MarshaBrady · 11/03/2012 15:09

Yes to red dress Red. OOOH which reminds me I'm bringing the red dress on Saturday!!

Ollie: would love to join you ladies as it seems you are going to be in London. Could someone PM me with the details? Looking forward to it!

bloss: how frightening, and don't blame you for getting scared. I've been panicked a few times with my 2 (lost it just a teeny bit in A&E once - but a was in the right!), and I am a medical professional.

I gind red a difficult colour to wear. I can to red as an accent, red only on top, or red only on bottom, but never as a dress. I somehow feel too self-conscious to pull it off.

FritziGreenEyes · 11/03/2012 16:46

Sorry for typos in my earlier post. I'm such a klutz on my iPhone.

Will catch up with thread now and check out your links.

blossoming · 11/03/2012 16:53

marsha, I've been looking at that IRO dress too, and wish it came in different colours. I like the other Carven too, but colours wrong for me.

There was something else too. I've forgotten... (tired out emoticon - surely MN should have one!)

blossoming · 11/03/2012 16:55

annie is right I think marsha that the IRO is more autumn. I think the 2nd carven would suit you. I think the blue carven is just a winter colour (am I right fle?)
Thanks for your kind words everyone.
Wondering if 6pm is too early to put the dcs to be tonight!

blue2711 · 11/03/2012 17:03

Thanks so much for all the sympathy and stories re. babies and sleep, or lack of it. It's so difficult to make the right decision for us all, particularly when I feel so tired. I'm trying to stay positive and hopefully will feel more myself tomorrow. I'd been feeling so brilliant as well! Now feel slightly pathetic and haven't even got out and enjoyed the lovely sunshine, just looked out the window from the sofa! Oh well, there's going to be downs as well as ups, of course.

bloss what an awful scare for you. Hope she's better now and you've managed a nice day.
marsha I really love that carven dress, prefer the colours to the iro. Hope you find your dream bag v soon.
Good shoe purchases hopefully, love the teal and orange sandals. Jealous of you shopping in Brighton, such a great place. My DH first talked about us getting engaged as we looked in jewellers' windows there.
Thinking of you icey and mim.
Forget who was watching dawson's creek but oh how I loved still love that show! Might dig out my box sets to watch while DD feeds refuses to be put down for hrs on end!

Like the sound of the spring outfits today, particularly the maxi skirt wearers. I am in new red Jamie's which are a fabulous fit and the new white shirt over a white vest with sleeves rolled up. And leopard print flats. I hope it's not only me who always has to wear new purchases straight away!
