So I am curvy with a big bust and big bottom and a comparitively little waist I'm somewhere between a 12/14, jeans has always given me a bit of a muffin top but now I have a little post baby belly I've started to loath them. I'm always having to hoik them up as they slip down, I never feel comfortable in them so I QUIT!!! I want to wear dresses, nice comfy day dresses that accentuate my curvy-ness in a good way, so anyone got any suggestions for a jeans free life?

Lovely dresses - hard to say though, how are you in the nork department? Mine are too big for necklines like that. Sad

jeansforever · 07/03/2012 16:39

I'm not big chested am a 36b , i thought i was an apple shape but after reading up on it i'm not sure as my shoulders arn't wider than my hips but i have a bigger stomach with no waist really.
I'm a size 12 hoping to get down to a 10 as at 5 1" i look big quite quickly.

SherlockKnomes · 07/03/2012 18:20

hmm hard to say silver is it comfy to wear thats normally a good sign? this is my cardi of choice atm :) My Joy dresses arrived today and they look frickin amazing! I nearly actually put pics on my profile they looked so good, a definite portion of my day needs to be allocated for swishing and twirling now. What the hell niina say to get deleted?? Paws ground of thread protectively

I am wearing a Wallis dress with leggings today and I realise I need leggings that last without becoming see through in a short time. Any recommendations please?

kaumana · 07/03/2012 18:49

Sherlock - I don't think Nina got the point of this thread as she posted that we were wearing the wrong jeans and should check out her services as stylist.
I am off shopping tomorrow, hopefully my legging will arrive tomorrow and soon I too will be swishing and swirling. Can't wait!

kaumana · 07/03/2012 18:52

agh twirling not swirling though a good swirl sounds good.

First day jean less. Wore leggings with navy blue tunic top. I nipped out and chucked my uggs on. Really need to get myself some nice brown boots as rain and ballet flats dont go. Dd (3) was very impressed. She put on a dress and leggings then spent all day telling me I had a pretty dress like her. She has nice boots though, I am jealous of my 3 year olds wardrobe!

cabbageandbeans · 07/03/2012 19:19

Leggings - I find M&S very good (around £7) also Dorothy perkins can be very nice but sometimes you have to sift through the ones on the rail, for some reason they use different quality fabric. I find that a fabric that has a dull appearance rather than shiny looks and lasts better.

fabwoman · 07/03/2012 19:27

I saw different coloured leggings today. I will try M&S, thanks.

cabbageandbeans · 07/03/2012 19:29

Oh, Sherlock this: dorothyperkins is SO lovely AND SO reasonable! I am a broken woman, you lot and all your bloody links! no money in the bank and I don't care I am going to do it, I AM going to buy me some dresses!

Also sherlock, I think this is the one you were asking if it was daytime or not and I thought not.....however, if you have a non-bulge appearance and you wearing it with leggings ten you might get away with it , but so far I prefer all the floaty and pretty numbers over the super sexy (which I think that purple number is).

This a great thread, so nice to know there are others who struggle with jeans. I am definitely going to do a DP shop........how exciting!

Silverthorns · 07/03/2012 19:38

SherlockKnomes Do post pics! Yay!

For leggings, I always find H&M pretty good - loads of different sizes/colours and they're not rubbish thin ones. Think they're about £5-6.

cabbageandbeans · 07/03/2012 19:44

Sherlock!Completley ridiculous! how old are you? I could NEVER pull this off - what the bloody hell would you do with all that back exposed?!!!!!

Love it! especially the one on the left I might even stick it on my fridge as a daily reminder to not go back to jeans.

cabbageandbeans · 07/03/2012 20:30

Bloody hell, those holloway dresses are amazing!

cabbageandbeans · 07/03/2012 20:32

Bloody husband just spotted my online dress viewing and has asked how I am going to pay for these? How am I going to pay for these?!!!!!!!!!!

MadameChinLegs · 07/03/2012 20:33

I wish Primark had online shopping. I could get a new wardrobe in that place for £30.

SherlockKnomes · 07/03/2012 20:41

I consider myself told cabbage Grin I must have been having a moment when I saw that..in my defence it was very late, wine had been consumed and I had looked at many many dresses.
