So I am curvy with a big bust and big bottom and a comparitively little waist I'm somewhere between a 12/14, jeans has always given me a bit of a muffin top but now I have a little post baby belly I've started to loath them. I'm always having to hoik them up as they slip down, I never feel comfortable in them so I QUIT!!! I want to wear dresses, nice comfy day dresses that accentuate my curvy-ness in a good way, so anyone got any suggestions for a jeans free life?

They have SO seen this thread Grin

SherlockKnomes · 08/03/2012 09:52

Right I really really can't buy any more dresses....nearly didn't have enough money for my Sainsbury's online shop, DH looked at me like this Shock. Am bad, bad wife & mother. On the upside I have a hospital appointment today that I'm really dreading but I shall wear my pretty Joy frock and cardi and they shall be bearable!

Silverthorns · 08/03/2012 10:10

Sherlock - you look fab! Grin Hope your appointment goes ok.

This arrived this morning and I really like it, although their sizes seem massive and I need a 12. Which is ridiculous, because I am very not a 12.

MadameChinLegs · 08/03/2012 10:32

Good luck, Sherlock. Right, debit card....ASOS website....Blush....Brew....I may be some time.

butterfingerz · 08/03/2012 14:31

Can I say the Topshop 'flippy' dress aka this,

dress&pageSize=20 flippy dress

is rockin. And its only £15. Good fabric, flattering, easy to accesorize. I know its Topshop, like where teenagers shop, but anyone could wear this. Comes in black, red or navy.

IHeartKingThistle · 08/03/2012 14:35

I very nearly bought one of those yesterday! Chickened out because it it's seam waisted and my waist is a lot lower than most peoples' (stupid long body). I thought it might look a bit out of proportion on me.

Bargain though! How short on you is it?

butterfingerz · 08/03/2012 14:41

Its about mid thigh, I'm 5'7. The seam is about 2" below my bust, then it sort of flows over my stomach. I got it in a 12 cos its stretch, normally a 14.

kaumana · 08/03/2012 15:16

butterfinger - I like that dress think I might get it in the washed rose as a change from black which I normally wear.

Have you seen a black cardigan that would go with it? I don't think the general public are quite ready to be dazzled by my winter skin tone...

MadameChinLegs · 08/03/2012 16:50

Hmmm....rather disappointed by the ASOS dresses, I have to say. Found this Fat Face dress on the JL website, reduced to £20. It's still full price on the FF website, so if you like it, go to JL rather than FF. I can't decide if I love it enough to buy, but it is a bargain.

butterfingerz · 08/03/2012 17:29

Yeah I'm sending a dress back to ASOS, the quality just didn't match the price (£45). Got my eye on a few from ebay though.

Kaumana, why not try a cream/ecru coloured cardigan, a bit brighter for spring and pretty much does go with everything like black does? I'm wearing mine with a denim jacket. I can't do bare arms either, unless really tanned, my upper arms are not my best feature (chunky from carrying my DC).

MadameChinLegs · 08/03/2012 17:44

I just ordered four from the dotty p sale. Put in DPVOFFER20 at the check out too, to get a further 20% off and £1 delivery. 4 dresses = 42.50

whoop!

Twit · 08/03/2012 18:56

May I join? Grin I am 5'4 size 10/12/14 but have huge (32K) BF'ing norks. I am very pale so bare legs an ishoo. Also have a pot belly that I'm working on. Blush
Please help. Sad I have been 'told' to wear A line/ v-neck by dressipi. Love the seagull one from fatface Issimma linked to way down/up thread. I also found
this one which might work ok for BF'ing? I can see myself with a little red cardi over it.....

cabbageandbeans · 08/03/2012 19:00

butterfingerz so I am not as tall as you - do you really believe anyone can carry off that topshop dress? My body is short in comparison to my legs (so I am not a person who can wear a belt on my waist as the distance between my knockers and my waist is very little!). I love the price and it nice and simple.

Madame I am off to DP NOW - what bargains!

SherlockKnomes · 08/03/2012 19:46

size 12/14 with big norks - this is the place for you twit Grin love that fat face one - could work for bf-ing, I too am breast feeding and the advantage of big norks is they are more...malleable and less stationery for wangling them out of clothing iyswim. mmm lets all pause for a minute and dwell on Sherlocks sexy retractable norks. So what did we all buy in the asos sale??

OP posts:
Twit · 08/03/2012 20:18

I dunno I find wrangling my enormous boobs a bit awkward Blush
I am also wondering about this although obviously I'd have to try with tights/leggings if long enough in real life. And a vest. And a cardigan. And ankle boots or converse. I like these or these

IHeartKingThistle · 08/03/2012 20:31

Welcome Twit! That seagull dress is awesome and now I want it - sadly I have spent all my budget and more Blush.

this arrived yesterday and it is supergorgeous and looks quite casual on, which I was hoping for. Just not quite warm enough yet - I don't think the colour will work with leggings or tights will it?

JennyPiccolo · 08/03/2012 20:33

An fully jazzed about £15 top shop number. Will have to get over my fear of going into top shop though. It's for skinnier, more stylish than I sorts.

MadameChinLegs · 08/03/2012 21:25

I have ordered Burgundy, blue collar, purple and black patterned.

I am nervous of a print. Actually, am nervous of a dress, but in for a penny.
