Morning all. Back from a weekend away in Leeds, which was very nice - up to the point that poor DH got food poisoning (we think from a dodgy prawn in a curry) - and spent all Saturday night and Sunday being rather ill. He is feeling better now though.
Hopefully - Glad you had such a great style day!
Red - I can see you in that dress. Well done on even attempting a roast in your current kitchen circumstances.
Emo - Glad your daughter had a lovely day. That is indedd a lovely picture of you!
Amber - you are ridiculously young, attractive and fresh faced, and are not to sit next to me at the MU
. In all seriousness, it is a lovely photo and you look great.
Ants - really hope you are feeling better soon. I have never had cystitus, but I know from friends how agonising it can be.
Amber and Red - I can also put my hand up to being a member of the Malm club
. We bought it when we bought our first house together and needed a whole load of furniture that didn't break the bank. After we let that house out and bought this one, we just took it with us. The problem at the moment is we are likely to be moving another couple of times at least with the military, and we don't want to spend on 'investment' furniture until we have sold both our properties to buy a 'long term' home, so I can't really justify replacing all the Malm that is doing a reliable job.
Bloss/Annie/Ollie - Well done on the nights out. I drank a fair amount of wine this weekend but it was all at friend's house, so no chance to dress up unfortunately.
Those of you who are struggling with sleep deprivation, I bow down to you all. I am pretty rubbish at it, and was blessed with a dd who only woke once to feed from 10pm to 6am from birth (unless illness strikes, of course.). She was a 'rotund' baby from the start (so at least I can't be even more irritating and claim to have an easy delivery
)and fed all day which seemed to tank her up - not sure if that had anything at all to do with it. Probably just luck. This weekend reminded me of just how rubbish I am, because my friends children are not great sleepers so I was awake quite a lot listening to them on Friday night, and then they were up early on Saturday morning?..and then on Saturday evening DH was up and down all night because he was ill. By Sunday I was knackered! My friend does this all the time - her husband is in Afghanistan, and she is a consultant neonatologist, saving teeny tiny babies lives. I am not worthy! We had a nice weekend despite the tiredness. Went on a long walk around the lovely Roundhay Park, which is right next to where she lives. I do like Leeds, and that area of it is fab.
Oh - for those of you who are fellow Jillian Michaels devotees - I did L 1 and half of L2 of 'Killer Buns and Thighs' last night. What a title, eh? Quite enjoyed it, in a strange way. I am so used to the other Jillian DVDs that it is good to try something new. You can forget about the pain as you have to concentrate on what comes next. Not very cardio based so not as much heavy breathing as the Shred or 6W6P. Bit of a mixture of some stuff that didn't sem that tough at all, and 4 or 5 exercises that nearlt made me weep with pain. That said, I had been running both Friday and Saturday and I so I think my legs were a bit tired already. They feel alright today, so I probably didn't push myself hard enough.
Off to Zara at lunchtime to pick up my gold top and leopard print vest. Absolutely gorgeous day here in Nottingham - but freezing.
MU room mates - I will be booking the room this morning unless anyone has any last minute need to cancel!!
